Features / Highlights

  • **Immense Size ("60 acres just for your dog"):** Its sheer scale is a major draw, allowing dogs to truly stretch their legs and explore without feeling confined. Visitors often praise how large it is, enabling them to "walk the trails and still feel like you are the only one out there."
  • **Natural Beauty and Diversity:** The park is praised as "very pretty," offering a variety of natural elements including a lake, sandy beach areas, grasslands, and wooded sections, providing rich sensory experiences for dogs. • **Peaceful and Less Crowded Feel:** Despite its popularity, its vastness means it often feels uncrowded, contributing to a peaceful and relaxing experience for visitors.
  • **Ideal for Off-Leash Training:** The wide-open spaces and varied terrain make it a great place to practice off-leash training and recall, as emphasized by one reviewer.

My favorite dog park so far! I appreciate how big it is. You can walk the trails and still feel like you are the only one out there. We like the sandy beach areas along the water. This is a very pretty park.

Been coming to this dog park for many years. My two Vizslas love it. Dogs are allowed to roam free of the leash here. There are many lakes here where dogs are allowed to jump in and swim. There is also a training pond for the puppies or doggies that aren't the best at swimming just yet. Plenty of people come here to get their fur babies' much-needed exercise but also their break from the public. A few main trails but plenty of little bunny trails to venture down and explore. Plenty of parking. Please remember a permit is required to come here with our pups. 1 per 🐶. Come here if u want to walk your dog and keep to yourself or come here and hang out by the main paths where many dog owners hang out and let your fur babies mingle with other dogs. Doggie poop bags are provided at both entrances. Restrooms are at one entrance only. Some areas can get muddy after rain and slippery after a snowfall. They do have bathrooms in the form of a single portta potta at one of the entrances in the parking lot. No running water or drinking fountains here. plan on bringing your water.

The area is not fenced. There really isn't anything done here to accommodate for dogs. It's more a forest preserve that doesn't have a leash rule than it is a dog park. Which would be fine except they expect you to pay for it.
