Great neighborhood park! Super family and kid friendly! The playground is huge and spread out - it Has slides, climbing dome, different swings, see saw, and lots of places to hide for little toddlers. Plenty of places to sit for parents & options in the shade when it’s sunny. Splash pad is a great way for little ones to cool off - it gets crowded on weekends ( open May thru September). Parking loops all around the park - but can be limiting cause this park attracts a nice crowd - of all ages. Restrooms are decent. Great place to ride bike and roller skate/ blade cause there’s plenty of smooth ground as well as grassy fields to play soccer, frisbee, football - just so much to do!! We go here multiple times a month!

Services Offered

The Dog Park at Clarks Creek Community Park is designed to provide a comprehensive and comfortable experience for dogs and their owners. While not a commercial service, these offerings are integral to the park's appeal:

  • Dedicated Off-Leash Areas: The park features separate, fenced-in sections specifically for large dogs (approximately 3 acres) and small dogs (approximately 1 acre). This crucial separation ensures a safer and more comfortable environment for all dogs, catering to different play styles and sizes.

  • Waste Stations: The park provides readily available poop bags and trash cans throughout the dog park areas, encouraging responsible pet ownership and maintaining the cleanliness of the grounds.

  • Water Access: While seasonal, the park aims to provide water access for dogs. Although a review noted a temporary shut-off during colder months to prevent pipe freezing, the presence of a working water pipe near the kids' area means water can still be sourced, showing a commitment to hydration for furry visitors.

  • Shaded Seating: Picnic tables and numerous trees offer shaded areas, providing comfortable spots for owners to relax and supervise their dogs, particularly during sunny North Carolina days.

  • Community Integration: As part of Clarks Creek Community Park, dog park users also benefit from the proximity to other park amenities, including restrooms, playgrounds, pickleball courts, basketball courts, and walking trails, enhancing the overall visit experience.

Features / Highlights

The Dog Park at Clarks Creek Community Park boasts several features that make it a standout choice for North Carolina dog owners:

  • Size and Separation: The generous three-acre area for large dogs and one-acre section for small dogs are major highlights, providing ample space for all canines to run, play, and socialize freely and safely.

  • Family-Friendly Environment: The park's location within a larger community park, complete with a "huge" playground, splash pad (seasonal), and various sports courts, makes it an ideal destination for families with both human and canine members. This ensures everyone has something to enjoy.

  • Natural Shade and Seating: The presence of many trees provides natural shade, which will be "a very nice shady area" in the summertime, complemented by three picnic tables for owners to relax.

  • Multipurpose Recreational Hub: Beyond the dog park, the larger Clarks Creek Community Park offers extensive opportunities for various activities, including biking, rollerblading on smooth ground, and playing soccer, frisbee, or football in grassy fields. This variety contributes to its appeal as a destination for multiple visits.

  • Well-Maintained Facilities: Reviews highlight "decent restrooms" and an overall sense of a "great neighborhood park," suggesting a commitment to cleanliness and maintenance across the entire park facility.

  • Seasonal Splash Pad: For younger family members, the splash pad (open May through September) provides a fun way to cool off, adding another layer of appeal for family outings.

Very nice park on maybe 3 acres fenced in for large dogs and another acre for small dogs. Park also has a area for kids and also tennis courts. The water outlet by the dog park area was not working due to the time of year they probably shut the water off so the pipes would not freeze, but the water pipe by the kids area was working so I filled up one five gallon bucket and two gallon buckets of water for the dogs. Also has three picnic tables and plenty of trees come summertime that will be a very nice shady area.

I really like this park. There are two sides. One for big dogs and one for small dogs. I go in the morning and its usually pretty empty. There are a lot of people at the actual park while only one or two maybe at the dog parks. The big dog park is closest to the car parking and the fence runs along the back length of the park. There's a nice open area with benches and a really nice walking trail in the wooded area. There's a lot of room for fetch and chase. The small dog park is next to the big dark park on the right. There's a huge open field for your dog to play in and a nice wooded walk trail in the back with benches. We have played on both sides and my dog lives them both. There's a water fountain for humans and a faucet to fill water containers for dogs. There are also poop bags and big trash cans that look pretty clean.

Nice open areas separated for both small and large dogs. Beautiful park and there's a trail to walk your dog as well. Dog park was pretty clean.

My dog Nash absolutely loves this park. He’s always exhausted when we leave. He’s made a lot of friends while coming here and it’s great for him to get his energy out. The large dog park is a decent size and doesn’t have much grass so he typically always leaves pretty dirty. I don’t think he minds though! The small dog park is nice as well and is all grass. They always have large buckets of water for the pups as well.
