It's a place where dogs can truly be dogs – chasing balls, wrestling with newfound friends, and exploring without the constraints of a leash. Owners, meanwhile, can relax and socialize with other pet parents, knowing their dogs are in a secure and stimulating environment. The park’s commitment to safety and cleanliness, coupled with its excellent amenities, makes it a highly recommended spot for anyone looking to enrich their dog's life and connect with fellow dog lovers in the area.

Services Offered

Cary Dog Park at Godbold Park provides several key services and features to ensure a positive and safe experience for all visitors:

  • Pass-Required Entry: For the health and safety of all canine and human visitors, access to the dog park requires an annual membership or a day pass. This system helps ensure that all dogs using the park are registered and up-to-date on their vaccinations.

  • Separate Dog Areas: The park features distinct, securely fenced areas for both large and small dogs. This separation allows smaller or more timid dogs to play comfortably without being overwhelmed by larger, more boisterous canines, and vice-versa.

  • Water Bowls and Stations: Hydration is vital for active dogs. The park is equipped with water bowls and stations, making it easy for dogs to get a drink after a vigorous play session.

  • Pet Cleanup Stations: Responsible pet ownership is encouraged with readily available pet waste stations, ensuring the park remains clean and hygienic for everyone.

  • Lighting for Evening Use: The park is lighted, allowing for enjoyable evening visits, which is particularly beneficial during the shorter daylight hours of fall and winter.

Features and Highlights

What makes Cary Dog Park at Godbold Park a standout choice for local dog owners are its impressive features:

  • One-Acre Fenced Park: This spacious, one-acre park provides ample room for dogs to run, explore, and play fetch in a secure, five-foot-high fenced environment.

  • Wood Chip Ground Cover: The ground cover primarily consists of wood chips, which can be easier on a dog's paws than hard surfaces and helps with drainage.

  • Electronic Gate Access: Entry to the dog park is via an electronic gate, which is accessed using a barcode from your pass. This controlled access enhances security and helps manage park usage effectively.

  • Community Hub: Beyond being a place for dogs, the park serves as a fantastic gathering spot for local dog owners. It's a great place to meet new people, share experiences, and build connections within the pet-loving community.

  • Proximity to Other Amenities: Located within Robert V. Godbold Park, visitors have access to other park features, and according to reviews, there may be a nearby library and even a cute little restaurant, making it a convenient stop for a longer outing.

Clean, wide open spaces separated into big and small dog areas. Plenty of room to run, and covered seating area for the humans.

Great place to take a dog. The people are friendly and surrounding park is fun. Reviewers should not rate poorly for the park requiring a pass. Annual dues are very reasonable considering the benefits if regular park visits. It also ensures that dogs visiting the park are vaccinated.
