While Bourbon City Bark Park is primarily an off-leash dog park, it offers specific features that can be considered services geared towards the optimal experience for you and your pet.

  • Separate Play Areas: The park thoughtfully provides distinct sections for small and large dogs. This separation ensures that dogs of all sizes can play comfortably and safely with peers of similar stature, reducing the risk of accidental injuries and promoting positive interactions.
  • Shaded Areas: Especially during Kentucky’s warm summer months, the availability of shaded sections within the small dog area is a significant benefit. This allows for comfortable playtime even on hot days, prioritizing the well-being of our smaller, more heat-sensitive companions.
  • Waste Disposal Stations: Essential for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, the park is equipped with waste disposal stations, encouraging responsible pet ownership and ensuring a pleasant environment for all visitors.
  • Fenced Enclosures: Securely fenced perimeters provide a safe space for dogs to roam and play off-leash, giving owners peace of mind.

Bourbon City Bark Park boasts several features and highlights that make it a standout destination for dog owners in Kentucky.

  • Dedicated Small Dog Area: One of the most praised aspects of Bourbon City Bark Park is its well-designed small dog area. As one local user noted, this section is particularly appealing during hot weather due to its ample shade, allowing smaller breeds to enjoy themselves comfortably even when temperatures rise. This thoughtful design caters specifically to the needs of miniature and toy breeds, providing a secure and enjoyable space for them to socialize.
  • Community Atmosphere: The park often fosters a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, providing an opportunity for dog owners to meet and connect. It’s a place where both dogs and their humans can make new friends, enhancing the sense of community in Bardstown.
  • Natural Environment: While a dedicated dog park, it provides a sense of outdoor freedom for dogs, allowing them to engage with their natural instincts in a controlled environment.
  • Encourages Exercise and Socialization: For dogs, the park is an invaluable resource for physical exercise and crucial socialization. Regular visits can help improve a dog’s behavior, reduce anxiety, and promote overall health and happiness through interaction with other dogs.

As a community-focused public park, Bourbon City Bark Park generally does not offer specific commercial promotions or special offers in the traditional sense. Its value comes from being a freely accessible public amenity for local residents and their dogs. However, local pet supply stores or veterinary clinics in Bardstown might occasionally partner with community events or offer special discounts that align with supporting local pet-friendly spaces. It’s always a good idea to check with local pet businesses or community bulletin boards for any potential, albeit indirect, promotions related to local pet well-being. The greatest "promotion" is the free and open access to a safe and enjoyable space for your dog to play.

Came with my children and almost 9 year-old and a five-year-old nowhere on their website. Did it say that they could not be there with children under 10 and then someone tells us that we can’t be there with children under 10 completely upset two little girls who just wanted to play with dogs and my dogs. I just wanted to have a fun time but instead we’re disrespectful and rude to my children if I could give them a zero star I would but you know they don’t have that rating. No wonder they have a 3.1 rating. And honestly, there wasn’t even that many dogs out there. Do you wanna go to a good dog park? Go to Etown.

Seemingly nice park that appears to get very little use to overbearing access system. Completely empty on a sunny day and why? Requires medical records to gain membership and a key fob to access, supposedly day passes can be bought off site at a business. Passing through the area on a road trip and was hoping to let my dogs get some exercise but not here. One of the worst thought out parks I’ve seen crossing the United States. Congratulations on HOA-ifying dog parks Bardstown.

Absurd. Would’ve happily paid the 5$ to take my dogs to get a little energy out. But so many forms to fill out, and the app barely even works. Takes 5x more effort to purchase that stupid day pass than to book a flight, hotel, and rental car. Seriously, update your system, this is 2024. The site will tell you you can go to the campground to purchase a day pass, went and apparently they are told they can’t take payment but if I can fill out the online thing they can give me a key. Never in my life seen more hoops to jump through to take my dog to a dog park. This was all just one big tease for them! Thanks for nothing.

Pretty neat dog park. Does require paying for a day, week or membership pass at the Sav a Lot nearby. At the time I went, it was like $5 for the day. Totally worth it to know your dog is around vaccinated dogs. Also, less responsible owners are less likely to pay for access. So your dog is safe in that aspect too. If you get the day pass, there is a drop box to leave the fob. Small dog area is pretty big. Big dog and obstacle areas available separately too. I’m told they also have a fun water day for the dogs in the summer.
