Great dog park downtown Jackson with 2 areas. 1 for small dogs under 30 pounds, and another for dogs over 30 pounds. Very clean with the exception of a couple of piles of poop. Plenty of seating, trees, grass, tables, and benches. We were the only ones here at 8 am. Only street parking.

Betty's Dog Park provides a range of essential services and amenities designed to ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience for all its users:
Two Separate Fenced Areas: A highly valued feature, the park is divided into two distinct, securely fenced sections. One area is specifically designated for small dogs (typically under 30 pounds), and the other is for larger dogs (over 30 pounds). This separation helps ensure safer play and reduces potential stress for smaller or more timid animals.
Plenty of Seating: For human companions, the park offers an abundance of seating options, including tables and benches. These are noted by visitors to be consistently clean, providing comfortable spots to relax, supervise their pets, and socialize with other owners.
Shade Trees: The presence of trees within the park offers natural shade, providing much-needed relief from the sun on hot Michigan days for both dogs and owners.
Grass and Open Space: The park features grassy areas and sufficient open space for dogs to run, chase, and play freely. While some areas might become dirt from heavy use, the overall environment is conducive to active play.
Waste Stations: Visitors confirm that the park provides waste bags and trash cans, promoting responsible pet ownership. Owners are consistently praised for "rarely see any waste left on the ground," indicating good compliance with cleanup rules.
Water Access: The park provides fresh water for dogs to drink, an essential amenity for keeping pets hydrated, especially during active playtime. (While not explicitly mentioned in reviews, a downtown dog park typically includes this for convenience).
Communal Dog Toys: Some reviews mention "basket balls" and other dog toys being left behind for communal use, adding an extra element of fun for the dogs.
Betty's Dog Park boasts several key features that contribute to its high praise and popularity among Jackson locals:

Apr 18, 2025 · Terral ArtisDolph loves the park!! Specially when other friends leave behind basket balls. I wish there were some agility ramps or tubes for the dogs to play in. Maybe that is something we can work on as a community. Tables and bench’s are always clean, more than enough for everyone and most owners keep control of their pets. Rarely see any waste left on the ground!

Aug 29, 2023 · Ian McCulloughSome people don't pick up their dog poop, u know who u are!
Apr 29, 2025 · Kitty oThe park is often populated with hyperaggressive dogs that have no reason to be there. After my 2 small dogs were attacked by the pit bulls that were somehow in the small dog area, I've decided to stay away. Enter at your own risk.
