Passing by Atlantic Station, it was a convenience stop for our 2 small dogs. Local's were friendly & it was busy w/ pups of all shapes & sizes :) For safety, the artificial turf needs to be replaced & Mulch added beyond the rock edge for "doing their business," would be better than mud.

While a dog park primarily serves as an open space for dogs to play, Atlantic Station Dog Park offers specific features and amenities designed to enhance the experience for both pets and their owners.
- Off-Leash Play Area: The core service is providing a designated and safe area where dogs can run, play, and socialize freely without the constraint of a leash. This is crucial for their physical exercise and mental well-being.
- Double-Gated Entrance: For enhanced safety and to prevent accidental escapes, the park features a double-gated entry system, giving owners peace of mind when entering and exiting with their pets.
- Water Fountain: A convenient water fountain is available within the park to keep pups hydrated, especially important during Georgia's warmer months.
- Seating Area: For the comfort of human companions, there is a designated seating area where owners can relax and observe their dogs at play.
- Obstacles for Play: The park includes various obstacles that provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation for dogs, adding an extra layer of fun to their playtime.
- Community Hub: Beyond physical amenities, the park functions as a natural gathering spot for local dog owners, fostering a sense of community and providing opportunities for owners to connect and share tips.
The Atlantic Station Dog Park, though potentially smaller than some sprawling parks, offers distinct features and highlights that make it a favorite among Atlanta locals.
- Artificial Turf Playing Surface: A significant portion of the park features artificial turf, offering a cleaner and often less muddy surface for dogs to play on compared to natural grass, especially after rain. However, some user feedback suggests that maintenance and replacement of the turf might be beneficial for safety and to reduce potential mud issues in certain areas.
- Friendly Community: A consistent highlight mentioned by visitors is the welcoming and sweet community of dog owners who frequent the park. This friendly atmosphere contributes significantly to a positive experience for both new and regular visitors.
- Urban Convenience: Its location within Atlantic Station provides unparalleled urban convenience. After a stimulating play session for your dog, you have immediate access to a wide array of pet-friendly shops, cafes, and restaurants where you can grab a bite or do some shopping.
- Safe Environment: Many owners report feeling that it is a safe place to bring their pups, largely due to the responsible nature of most owners who ensure their dogs are not a problem to others. The double-gated entrance further contributes to this sense of security.
- Daily Routine Potential: For those living in or near Atlantic Station, the dog park often becomes an integral part of their daily routine, a testament to its convenience and enjoyable environment.
- Central Atlanta Location: Being situated in a prominent part of Atlanta means easy access for a large portion of the city's dog-owning population, making it a popular choice for a quick and effective outdoor excursion.

Feb 26, 2025 · Kathleen KorpitaA little small but the community that comes here is very sweet. My pup loves playing on the turf and even rolling in the dirt from time to time. Was part of our daily routine when I lived in the area and still miss going there. Most owners take care that their dog isn't a problem to the other dogs so it's a safe place to bring the pups
Sep 17, 2018 · Drew SchneiderThis is the park that I take my dog to most every day. Although it’s small, there’s jsut enough of space for the dogs to get their runs in. People are great and friendly and accountable to their dogs, which I really appreciate. There is rarely moments where a dog is going unchecked. The park is well maintained for the most part - the water was just turned back on after cold months, and there’s always doggy poo bags available. If you’re wanting to meet some folks in the neighborhood, you’ll most likely strike up a conversation here and meet some great people!
Apr 13, 2021 · Joshua FuBrought some little dogs on a visit from out of town. This park is kinda small and dirty. Lots of old broken toys left around. Wouldn’t come back. Good for a quick off leash visit but not a real dog park experience.
Apr 22, 2022 · Saul VasquezDecent size and well kept. Nice views of Midtown. Nice big water bowl and a few different toys for your dog to play with. Can get crowded during certain of the day.
