They have always taken the best care of my family's pets. Zeeb’s has cared for and treated 4 generations of my family’s pets. From my grandparents’ dogs, to my parents’ birds, cats and dogs, my sister’s cats and dogs, my cats and dogs, and my son’s cats; the care, professionalism, and compassion has been above and beyond basic needs. The pricing has always been extremely reasonable and I have never felt that they are in it for the profits, but there for the family and their beloved pets. I do not ever want to have to go to any other vet for the care of my pets.

Welcome to Zeeb Animal Hospital
For pet owners in Lansing, Michigan, Zeeb Animal Hospital, located at 2922 N East St, presents a complex profile based on the available online customer reviews. While one long-term client with a multi-generational history with the clinic speaks highly of the consistent care, professionalism, compassion, and reasonable pricing they have experienced over many years, a more recent review paints a starkly different picture, detailing issues with a specific veterinarian's communication style, inaccurate cost estimates, and a perceived decline in personalized service and concern for patient retention. These contrasting perspectives suggest a potential shift in the clinic's service quality or significant variability in individual patient experiences, requiring local users to carefully consider both viewpoints when evaluating Zeeb Animal Hospital as a "Pet Hospital" for their animal companions.
One deeply loyal reviewer shares a remarkable history with Zeeb Animal Hospital, stating, "They have always taken the best care of my family's pets. Zeeb’s has cared for and treated 4 generations of my family’s pets." This impressive longevity of patronage speaks volumes about the trust and satisfaction this family has found with the clinic over an extended period. The reviewer provides specific examples, noting care for "my grandparents’ dogs, to my parents’ birds, cats and dogs, my sister’s cats and dogs, my cats and dogs, and my son’s cats," illustrating their experience with a diverse range of animal companions. They consistently praise the key aspects of the clinic's service: "the care, professionalism, and compassion has been above and beyond basic needs." This suggests a team that is not only competent but also genuinely dedicated to the well-being of their patients and their owners. Furthermore, the reviewer commends the financial aspect, stating, "The pricing has always been extremely reasonable and I have never felt that they are in it for the profits, but there for the family and their beloved pets." This perception of the clinic prioritizing care over profit is a significant factor in building long-term trust. The reviewer concludes with a strong statement of loyalty: "I do not ever want to have to go to any other vet for the care of my pets," underscoring their unwavering confidence in Zeeb Animal Hospital.
In stark contrast, a more recent review details a significantly negative experience. The reviewer expresses strong dissatisfaction with a specific veterinarian, stating, "Dr. Peterson very pushy and really does not allow you to speak. Very poor service!" This description of a lack of effective communication and a dismissive attitude from a veterinarian is a serious concern for pet owners who value being involved in their pet's care. The reviewer also raises concerns about financial transparency, noting, "Estimates are not accurate and leave hundreds of dollars in a gap." This discrepancy between the initial cost estimate and the final bill can lead to significant financial stress and erode trust in the clinic's billing practices. The reviewer's attempt to address their concerns was met with a seemingly insincere response: "After voicing my displeasure the office manager just could say that she was sorry like she was reading a script." This lack of genuine empathy and resolution further exacerbated the negative experience. The reviewer attributes a perceived decline in service quality to the departure of a long-term veterinarian: "Ever since Dr. Thimming left the personalized service has gone downhill and they really don’t care about losing patients." This suggests a potential shift in the clinic's culture or approach to client relations. The reviewer concludes with a strong sense of disappointment and betrayal after a long history with the practice: "After three dogs almost 20 plus years to be treated this way is unacceptable and they don’t care unlike it was before shame on them," indicating a significant deterioration in their perception of Zeeb Animal Hospital after years of patronage.
Based on these conflicting customer reviews, the environment at Zeeb Animal Hospital in Lansing, MI, is difficult to definitively characterize. The long-term reviewer suggests a caring and professional atmosphere where the focus is on the well-being of the animals and their families. In contrast, the more recent review paints a picture of poor communication with at least one veterinarian and a dismissive attitude from the administrative staff. The mention of a decline in personalized service after the departure of a long-term veterinarian suggests a potential shift in the clinic's culture or team dynamics. Therefore, the environment may be perceived differently depending on individual interactions and the timeframe of the visit.
As a "Pet Hospital," Zeeb Animal Hospital likely offers a comprehensive range of general veterinary services to address the health and wellness needs of pets in the Lansing area. Based on the reviews, these services include routine wellness examinations, vaccinations, and the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and injuries for various types of pets, including dogs, cats, and even birds (as mentioned by the long-term reviewer). The long history of care for multiple generations of pets suggests a broad scope of medical expertise and the ability to manage the health needs of animals throughout their lives. However, the recent negative review raises concerns about the accuracy of cost estimates and the overall quality of service provided by at least one of the veterinarians currently practicing at the clinic.
Several features of Zeeb Animal Hospital can be inferred from the customer reviews, though they present a mixed perspective. A long-standing feature appears to be the clinic's history of providing care for multiple generations of families, indicating a deep connection with the local community and a potential for building long-term relationships based on trust and positive experiences. The reasonable pricing reported by the long-term reviewer could also be considered a positive feature for budget-conscious pet owners. However, a significant concern raised in the recent review is the issue of inaccurate cost estimates, which can lead to unexpected financial burdens for clients. The perceived decline in personalized service and a lack of concern for losing long-term patients are also negative features that potential clients should consider.
Neither of the provided reviews mentions any specific promotional offers at Zeeb Animal Hospital. Veterinary hospitals sometimes offer introductory specials for new clients or wellness plans that bundle routine services at a discounted rate. Given the conflicting feedback regarding this clinic, it would be prudent for local pet owners to inquire directly about any potential promotional offers while also thoroughly discussing their specific pet's needs and any concerns arising from the recent negative review. It may be beneficial to ask about the communication styles of the different veterinarians and the clinic's policies regarding cost estimates and dispute resolution.
In conclusion, Zeeb Animal Hospital in Lansing, Michigan, presents a dichotomy of customer experiences. While one long-term client expresses unwavering loyalty and praises the consistent care, professionalism, compassion, and reasonable pricing received over four generations of pets, a more recent review details significant dissatisfaction with a specific veterinarian's communication style, inaccurate cost estimates, and a perceived decline in overall service quality. This stark contrast suggests potential inconsistencies in the clinic's current practices or significant variability in individual patient experiences. Local pet owners considering Zeeb Animal Hospital should carefully weigh these differing perspectives and potentially seek additional information or recent feedback to make an informed decision about their pet's care.

Jan 22, 2025 · m wI live in the area and had a few general questions being a new puppy mom and after reading reviews and seeing all your 5 stars I figured you guys would be perfect to give me the information I was looking for. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to even ask a single question because your receptionist was very disrespectful and disregarding. I worked in reception for 10 years. She interrupted me every time I spoke to tell me you are not accepting new patients which was not even the original reason for my call. I also did not want medical advice. I simply am a new dog mom wanting information on the process of looking for a good Veterinarian and what I should ask or look for. I also had questions on approximate and reasonable price ranges for certain procedures. Even if you were accepting new clients at this time I absolutely would not be interested in bringing my puppy here. If it is a animal HOSPITAL and deal with emergencies your receptionist absolutely has to be able to LISTEN. I hope you have a great day!
