I have owned multiple animals, (large and small) for 50 years and have lived throughout the US. As a result, I have worked with many veterinarians (45? 50? No idea.) Dr. Cripps is one of the top three. He is a GREAT diagnostician and relies on his experience before he recommends expensive tests. (In my opinion, younger vets especially go immediately to them.) He has proven to be better at diagnoses than many vets at MSU, a fine teaching school. He is kind and.patient with all of my creatures and respects me as a client. He also has a fine sense of humor, which must be crucial when dealing with many pet owners. (Pets, not so much. ;-)) His office staff is small, but I have found both Ms. Elizabeth and Ms. Sarah to be efficient, capable and pleasant. They're good at returning calls if you leave a message. You have to wait in your car before you're admitted, but Dr. Cripps is unfailingly punctual if you are. All three of them work effectively with Chewy and other online businesses for animals. I've worked with 10 other veterinarians in the Lansing area, including emergency clinics and MSU, during the 30 years I've lived here. I have no problem changing vets if I'm dissatisfied with their abilities. One has retired, but otherwise I have never had one as good and certainly none better. I am hoping Dr. Cripps works until he's at least 150 years old so I never have to find another.

Windsor Animal Clinic is led by Dr. Cripps, a veterinarian with extensive experience, as highlighted by a long-term pet owner who has worked with numerous veterinarians across the United States over 50 years. This reviewer ranks Dr. Cripps among the top three veterinarians they have encountered, emphasizing his exceptional diagnostic skills. Notably, Dr. Cripps is praised for relying on his wealth of experience when assessing cases before recommending expensive tests, a refreshing approach compared to some younger veterinarians who might readily resort to advanced diagnostics. This suggests a thoughtful and potentially more cost-effective approach to veterinary care.

The diagnostic acumen of Dr. Cripps is further lauded by the reviewer, who states that his diagnostic abilities have proven to be superior to many veterinarians at Michigan State University (MSU), a well-respected teaching institution. This strong endorsement speaks volumes about Dr. Cripps's expertise and his ability to accurately identify and understand animal health issues.

Beyond his medical expertise, Dr. Cripps is described as kind and patient with animals of all sizes. He also respects pet owners as clients, fostering a collaborative and trusting relationship. His fine sense of humor is also noted as a valuable asset when interacting with pet owners, suggesting a warm and approachable demeanor that can ease the stress often associated with veterinary visits.

The office staff at Windsor Animal Clinic, consisting of Ms. Elizabeth and Ms. Sarah, are described as efficient, capable, and pleasant. Despite being a small team, they are commended for their effectiveness, including their reliability in returning phone calls promptly if a message is left. This indicates a well-organized and responsive administrative aspect to the clinic's operations, ensuring smooth communication and efficient service for clients.

The clinic has a policy of having clients wait in their cars before being admitted for their appointments. However, this is coupled with Dr. Cripps's unfailing punctuality, ensuring that clients who arrive on time do not experience unnecessary delays. This system likely aims to minimize stress for pets by reducing their time spent in a traditional waiting room environment with other potentially anxious animals.

Windsor Animal Clinic also demonstrates its commitment to comprehensive care by working effectively with online businesses such as Chewy, facilitating convenient access to medications and supplies for their clients. This integration with online resources showcases a willingness to adapt to modern conveniences and provide seamless service for pet owners.

Another reviewer expresses their love for how caring Dr. Cripps is with their dog, further reinforcing his compassionate approach to animal care. The staff, particularly Liz, is also praised for going the extra mile, such as spoiling the reviewer's dog with kisses and treats, indicating a genuine affection for the animals they treat. This personal touch contributes to a positive and reassuring experience for both pets and their owners.

The consistent positive feedback from a long-term, experienced pet owner who has worked with numerous veterinarians, as well as the additional comment about the caring nature of Dr. Cripps and staff, paints a picture of a "Pet Hospital" that excels in both medical expertise and compassionate care. While specific details about the clinic's environment (beyond the car waiting policy) and the full range of their services are not explicitly outlined, the strong endorsements suggest a well-run and highly competent veterinary practice.

Love how caring the Dr. is with my dog. Liz spoils him with kisses and treats. My fur baby was well taken care of.

They went above and beyond. My cat was a new patient and it would take a couple weeks for an appointment. When I explained what was going on, they worked her in the next day. They treated my 15 yr. old like a queen. They truly care about their patients.

Been asking for the vet records for a month due to two kittens need to be brought on flight. Asked first time during an appointment and was told need bet approval and will email me later. Fine. Been calling them over 40 times no kidding but only picked up once, still saying vet approval but can email me vaccine certificate, never did. Left voice mail at least 4 times never called back. Called two times ahead heading to them still not picked up. Get in was told to wait outside in the car, then front desk lady walked about with the record unhappily and told me I should notify before get in. If you want to be notified then pick up the damn phone. Told her I called multiple times and left voicemails couple times. She literally said “that’s not the truth”. Pulled the phone wanted prove it but just turned around and get back in saying that’s ok. THAT’S NOT OK. I controlled my emotions because she’s an old lady but if you want good customer service don’t come here. Two stars because vet was professional and offered good care to our kittens. But front desk is just ridiculous.

I couldn't have been happier with my new dog's visit to Dr. Cripps. She's a new rescue, who is nervous meeting new people, and I was concerned about how a visit to the vet would go. They were very patient and kind and gave my shy girl time to warm up and be comfortable. She was able to get an exam and all of her vaccines. I was impressed by his techniques to give shots so quickly she didn't even know it happened. We'll do toenails and more in a month or two, because we stopped so that my dog would not have an unpleasant first experience and wouldn't be afraid to come back. Dr. Cripps has a full-service setup, many years of experience, and a very caring approach to care. I highly recommend!
