Williamson County Animal Hospital is hands-down the best veterinary clinic we’ve ever been to, and we’ve been to quite a few over the past 12 years! We first visited WCAH’s Urgent Care (not to be confused with an Emergency Vet, which will cost thousands of $$$ more), when two of Gracie’s previous clinics couldn’t see her the same day, despite her dealing with (TMI) two separate multi-day episodes of vomiting and diarrhea. WCAH got her in immediately, and that alone made a lasting impression. A while after that visit, I requested an abdominal ultrasound due to recurring UTIs and protein in her urine. I was amazed when they were able to schedule her within two weeks, compared to the two-month wait at her former vet! That level of responsiveness, combined with the thoughtful, outside-the-box approach from the veterinarians, quickly convinced us to switch to WCAH permanently…and it has been one of the absolute best decisions we’ve ever made for Gracie. We’ve been fortunate to see Dr. Barrett and Dr. Rader, both of whom are exceptional, knowledgeable, kind, and incredibly thorough. At WCAH, we especially love that they don’t take appointments, and you can walk in at your convenience, and still be seen quickly. We’ve never waited behind more than 1 or 2 pets, unless I request a specific vet (which I often do because Gracie absolutely adores Dr. Barrett and Dr. Rader!). During one visit, Dr. Rader reviewed Gracie’s full medical history and symptoms; then recommended a blood test to rule out a potential underlying cause. Thanks to his careful attention to detail, he diagnosed Gracie with Cushing’s Disease - something Gracie’s previous vet had missed for over 1.5 years, while treating her for supposed kidney disease. During that time, we’d spent thousands of dollars on unnecessary bloodwork, urinalyses, prescription food, and medications. The fact that WCAH was able to run the required ACTH test that same day was a huge relief; especially because Gracie gets very anxious in the car, and minimizing trips makes a big difference for her. We’ve visited many clinics over the years: in Gallatin, Franklin, Spring Hill, Murfreesboro, College Grove…and none have offered the combination of availability, efficiency, affordability, and medical excellence that we’ve found here. We loved our previous vets in Gallatin and College Grove, but when it became hard to get timely appointments, even when Gracie was vomiting bile, we knew we needed a change. Ironically, the College Grove clinic actually referred us to WCAH, and I’m so thankful they did. Everyone at Williamson County Animal Hospital…from the front desk, to the vet techs, to the veterinarians, has been absolutely wonderful. It’s clear they all love what they do, and that positive energy carries over into the care they provide. If I could give them 20 stars, I would. We are so grateful for their kindness, expertise, and consistent, high-quality care. Gracie and our family thank you from the bottom of our hearts! 🥰

May 14, 2025 · Lindsay GerickeI couldn't say enough great things about WCAH. I have taken my Bernedoodle to after hours and normal hours pet urgent care for a few issues (diarrhea, skin rash, golf cart injury). The staff is amazing and are cognizant to not over medicate or encourage costly treatments if not necessary. They have provided peace of mind for my pet's health and I appreciate their quality customer service!
May 09, 2025 · Lily DouthittWe saw DEI hire, Melissa Edwards, for an injured cat. He suffered a significant dog bite to his pelvis. The cat was dragging his left rear leg behind him and unable to move his tail. Edwards took radiograph images and said he was fine - no broken bones or internal injuries. She sent him home with pain meds, stating he would be fine in a week or so. If he's dragging his leg behind him and unresponsive to both foot and tail stimuli, it should be obvious that there is nerve impairment. We took him to our regular vet and had new images taken. Edwards missed a fractured lumbar vertebra causing partial paralysis of his left leg and total paralysis of his tail. Rectal and bladder control are minimal to moderate. The only reason we gave 2 stars instead of 1 was because of the excellent vet techs. Edwards: If you don't know in what planes to acquire radiographs and can't read the ones you do acquire, maybe you need to turn in your DVM and get your money back. Caveat emptor.
May 07, 2025 · Brad F (Brad)I live in mount juliet and I will forever make the drive here because of the professionalism and care from the entire staff. I feel they are very reasonable as well in terms of the cost. I originally had a dental appointment for February, but I called with some urgent concerns and they were able to fit me in much earlier and I really think my Zip will feel so much better once he’s all healed from the dental procedure. You can really tell this staff cares so much about the pets and parents of the pets too! I am forever grateful for this staff.
Jan 17, 2025 · Hannah SpainThey deserve 100 stars !!!! This veterinarian clinic has emergency hours and regular hours if you wanted to become a client. I cannot say enough amazing things about this clinic. First off I want to say how sweet and compassionate the doctor was. My dog has chronic colitis and I know the protocol that he needs to get better. With colitis if you don’t catch it early , the situation can get complex. I noticed the symptoms early enough to be able to call various emergency clinics and ask them what they charged. By far, the veterinarian clinic that beat out all the rest was Williamson County veterinarian clinic. The experience was amazing. The Veterinarian was so compassionate, kind and loving. Prior to me, she had taken care of a couple that brought in their dog that had to be put to sleep. The veterinarian was so thoughtful that she waited for them to leave so they didn’t hear her have a conversation with me in the next room after what they had been through. ***That is awareness and compassion!!!!!**** she treated my dogs colitis with the utmost care and compassion. When I got up to the counter, the charges were only $286. Other emergency room veterinarians Charge no less than $900 for the same exact services!! Most of us understand that when we are under stress because of our dogs illness, the last thing we need is a financial stress. Most if not all of these veterinarian clinics don’t really care about this. Most of the time we hear stories of clinics, taking advantage of people in helpless situations, where the Veterinarian had charged the client so much money that they had to put it on a loan card, care credit. I know I’m not alone out there in thinking that these Veterinarian clinics are purposefully taking advantage of us. I’m here to tell you that Williamson County animal clinic does not do this. They are kind, knowledgeable and professional, and very, very compassionate with their fees. Just to give you an example my Precious angel dog last October had colitis in the extreme stages of which I took them to a 24 hour Animal Hospital called VEG. After examining my dog, they gave me an estimate of $900. I looked at the estimate very carefully, and I couldn’t believe that they were going to charge me this exorbitant fee. I truly felt like they were taking advantage of me. Then my boyfriend walked in and when the veterinarian saw him, she upped the charges to $2300!!!! When I told her I saw the original estimate, there was a bit of hesitation, possibly embarrassment, however, she insisted that that is the cost now! This was at 11 o’clock at night and transporting my dog to another Veterinarian would have costed my dog, his life. Although the experience was good and they were very kind and compassionate and gave me a bit of a discount I still walked out with a $2000 bill. I had heard Blue Pearl is the same situation!! If you want to avoid all this, I highly recommend using Williamson County veterinarian clinic for your primary needs and any emergencies that arise. It is a family owned and operated business with fair business practices with lots of professionalism, knowledge and kindness. I can’t thank them enough, and I will be a loyal customer and tell everyone I can!!Please spread the word!!!!
