I cannot believe the lack of compassion and respect. We adopted an 11 week old puppy on Saturday from the Humane Society. Yesterday he started having really bad symptoms so we took him to urgent care where he was diagnosed with parvo. The treatment was thousands of dollars but he's our baby and he's worth it. They told us we needed to get him seen at a normal vet within 3-5 days as the urgent care does not do routine visits. So I called the vet I've been taking my other dog to for a few months now. The second I mentioned he was parvo positive the receptionist changed her attitude. She acted like I'd purposely exposed my puppy to an illness that could possibly kill him and told me "he won't be getting any vaccines." I said that he needed a checkup to make sure the antibody treatment was taking and she very reluctantly went to talk to the vet to see what the protocol was. When she came back she said that they hadn't seen "a parvo puppy" in 10+ years and they don't have an iso room so they couldn't see him. Understandable. This is why I called ahead, because I don't want to get other puppies sick. She told me to take him back to the urgent care where he was seen. When I said that wasn't an option and asked for recommendations for other vets she said just to "google it and call around" in the most rude way possible, as if I was inconveniencing her by asking. Bear in mind that I just got news that my brand new puppy is sick and could die. Literally all I expected was a name or two of nearby vets to call, which I don't think is expecting too much and I was very polite to her. She was so rude and treated me like I was trying to bring in the plague because I enjoy getting puppies sick for funzies. No empathy whatsoever. To that receptionist: I hope to god you never have to experience what my family is going through right now, and if you do, I hope no one treats you the way you treated us, you jerk. Also? If you hate sick dogs so much, maybe you should reconsider your line of work. Pic of my beautiful puppy for reference.

Customer reviews present contrasting experiences at Wildwood Animal Hospital. One recent account details a highly negative interaction with a receptionist when seeking follow-up care for a puppy diagnosed with parvo. The reviewer expressed feelings of rudeness and a lack of empathy, citing the receptionist's dismissive attitude and refusal to provide recommendations for other veterinary clinics due to the puppy's contagious condition and the hospital's lack of an isolation room. This experience highlights potential challenges in their handling of specific infectious diseases and customer service in sensitive situations.

In contrast, another long-term customer shared a positive experience spanning over 25 years, praising the staff as "so friendly" and the veterinarians as "amazing." This reviewer also noted the practice of providing cost estimates before procedures and offering adjustments based on budget concerns, suggesting a commitment to transparency and client communication in routine care.

We’ve been being our dogs here for over 25 years. The staff is so friendly and the vets are amazing. They give an estimate before procedures so you don’t get surprised and make adjustments based on budget concerns.

I brought my newly adopted cat to Wildwood for a general checkup and to up date vaccines if needed. My niece had referred me to this clinic. The lobby was roomy and clean and the receptionist were friendly and helpful. The vet assistant was gentle and kind to an anxious cat. She was able to answer some of my questions and handled my cat with care. The veterinarian was also kind and caring with my pet. He spoke with me about feeding recommendations and helped me understand my cats nutritional needs. He administered the needed vaccines gently. I appreciate the treatment my cat and myself received. I would recommend this clinic to anyone.
