I love this practice, Dr Stella, vet tech AJ, the office staff and everyone I’ve met there so far. As a new client coming from a vet’s practice that we loved but got too big. This feels like they care, are glad we’re there, and have offered multiple solutions to keep my senior, arthritic dog comfortable and happy. Here’s a photo of Winnie with her protective goggles on while getting laser therapy for her arthritis.

The physical space is clean and organized, equipped to handle a variety of veterinary needs while still maintaining a feeling of intimacy. The staff contributes significantly to this positive environment, being consistently praised for their kindness, patience, and compassion. Services Offered

Whole Pet Veterinary Center provides a comprehensive range of medical services, focusing on both preventive care and addressing specific health concerns throughout a pet's life. Their approach is rooted in understanding each pet's unique needs and offering tailored solutions. Key services typically include:

  • Preventative and Wellness Care: This forms the foundation of their practice, with regular check-ups, individualized vaccination protocols for dogs and cats (including core vaccines like rabies, distemper, parvovirus, and feline leukemia), and personalized advice on nutrition and parasite control. They emphasize long-term health and early detection of potential issues.
  • Geriatric Pet Care: A particular strength highlighted by client testimonials, they specialize in managing the unique challenges of senior pets. This includes advanced care for conditions like arthritis, with services such as laser therapy aimed at improving comfort and quality of life. They offer multiple solutions to keep older, arthritic pets comfortable and happy, demonstrating a deep understanding of age-related issues.
  • Diagnostics: While specific equipment details are not always public, a comprehensive "Pet Hospital" typically offers in-house laboratory services for blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exams, as well as diagnostic imaging like X-rays to aid in accurate diagnoses. They excel at "solving perplexing issues" that may take time to unravel, indicating a thorough diagnostic approach.
  • Pet Dentistry: Comprehensive dental services are crucial for overall pet health, including cleanings, extractions, and management of periodontal disease.
  • Surgery: They provide a range of surgical procedures, from routine spay/neuter operations to more complex soft tissue surgeries.
  • Internal Medicine: Diagnosis and management of various internal diseases affecting organ systems, with a focus on collaborative problem-solving with pet owners.
  • Referral and Collaboration: When highly specialized care is needed, Whole Pet Veterinary Center collaborates with or refers to veterinary specialists, ensuring pets receive the most advanced care available.
  • Medication and Prescriptions: They offer a pharmacy for necessary medications and can assist with prescription refills.
The focus is always on a holistic approach to pet health, considering not just the immediate ailment but the pet's overall well-being and happiness.

Features and Client Experience

Whole Pet Veterinary Center is highly praised for several distinctive features that create an exceptional client experience:

  • Personalized and Compassionate Care: This is the most frequently highlighted feature. Clients consistently feel that the team, including veterinarians (like Dr. Stella and Dr. Coryn Vickrey), vet techs (like AJ), and office staff, genuinely care about their pets and their families. This results in pets being treated "like their own" and a sense of being valued.
  • Dedicated and Knowledgeable Team: The entire staff is described as knowledgeable, patient, kind, and caring. They take the time to answer questions thoroughly and listen attentively to concerns, providing solutions and advice without pressure. This level of engagement builds trust and makes clients feel like "partners" in their pet's care.
  • Focus on Senior and Chronic Care: Their expertise in managing conditions like arthritis in senior dogs, offering advanced treatments like laser therapy, demonstrates a commitment to improving the quality of life for aging pets. This specialized care is a significant benefit for owners of older animals.
  • Strong Client Relationships: The practice deliberately aims to avoid the "too big" feeling that some larger practices can have, fostering a "closeness with our clients." This dedication to building long-term relationships means they understand pets' individual personalities and medical histories intimately.
  • Effective Communication and Education: The team excels at explaining complex medical information clearly and respectfully, ensuring pet owners understand diagnoses and treatment plans. This commitment to education empowers clients to make informed decisions for their beloved animals.
  • Supportive Environment for Humans: Beyond caring for pets, the staff's compassion extends to the human family members, offering emotional support and understanding during challenging times.
  • Convenient Technology: They utilize tools like the PetDesk App, which allows clients to easily book appointments and request medication refills, streamlining pet care management.
These features combine to create a veterinary practice where medical excellence is paired with genuine empathy and a strong focus on client satisfaction and pet comfort.

Promotional Information and Payment Options

While specific, time-limited promotions should always be confirmed directly with Whole Pet Veterinary Center, their core value proposition acts as an ongoing promotion of their services:

  • Value for Quality Care: Many clients perceive the quality of care received at Whole Pet Veterinary Center as exceptional, especially considering the level of personalized attention and expertise. This signifies a strong value proposition, where the cost aligns with the high standard of service.
  • Focus on Long-Term Health: By offering comprehensive preventative care and advanced treatments for chronic conditions, they promote long-term health and happiness for pets. This approach often leads to better outcomes and potentially fewer emergency situations, saving pet owners money in the long run.
  • Support for Pet Insurance: Whole Pet Veterinary Center, like most reputable veterinary hospitals, accepts pet insurance. They encourage pet owners to consider pet insurance to help mitigate the costs of unexpected accidents and illnesses, thereby making advanced care more accessible.
  • Treatment Financing Options: For larger or unexpected veterinary expenses, Whole Pet Veterinary Center is known to work with financial solutions like CareCredit. This allows pet owners to manage payments over time, ensuring that critical care is not delayed due to immediate financial constraints. This flexibility is a significant benefit to clients facing substantial veterinary bills.
  • Easy Scheduling and Communication: The availability of the PetDesk app for appointment booking and medication refills is a convenience feature that promotes ease of access to their services.
Prospective clients are encouraged to contact Whole Pet Veterinary Center directly by phone or visit their website to learn more about their services, discuss specific pet needs, understand their pricing structure, and inquire about any current promotions or payment plan options that may be available to help manage their pet's healthcare expenses.

Dr. Coryn Vickrey and her entire staff provide excellent care and are wonderful people. Over the years, since we moved to Westford, they have cared for many of our dogs throughout their lives. The staff is caring, noble and compassionate, not only for our pets, but for us humans as well. A number of our dogs have been afflicted with perplexing issues that took some time to solve, and I greatly appreciate the respect and compassion they show for people when explaining care and making us humans partners in our beloved animal's care. While I recommend and endorse Whole Pet Veterinary Center without any reservations, the most important thing I can say to Coryn and her entire team is: "Thank you."

From the very start of my visit, when my cat was welcomed by name, to the very end, I was impressed by the care and professionalism of the entire staff at Whole Pet Veterinary Center. Dr. Normington answered all of my questions thoroughly and took time getting to know my cat and make her feel safe. This is a practice that personalizes your experience and truly cares for the health and well-being of your pet!
