I recently took our cat In to see Dr. Pohler after he had been sick and not eating or drinking for a few days. While we normally see Dr. Janke, we had an excellent experience with Dr. Pohler! Not only were they able to work me in that morning, Dr. Pohler was kind, caring, compassionate, and very knowledgeable and thorough throughout the entire appointment. I was very pleased with our visit and after some meds, our sweet kitty was back to his normal self, just as Dr. Pohler said he should be. Thank you Wharton Veterinary Clinic for always providing the best care to my fur babies.

Wharton Veterinary Clinic, as a comprehensive "Pet Hospital," is equipped to provide a wide array of veterinary services, addressing the diverse and evolving needs of companion animals throughout their lives. Their extensive offerings are expected to include:
- Preventative and Wellness Care: This foundational aspect of veterinary medicine encompasses **routine annual physical examinations**, customized vaccination programs tailored to individual pet needs and risk factors, effective parasite prevention and control (including heartworm, flea, and tick medications), and valuable nutritional and weight management counseling. Proactive care is essential for early detection of health issues and maintaining long-term vitality.
- Advanced Diagnostic Services: To accurately diagnose illnesses and conditions, the clinic utilizes various diagnostic tools. This includes **in-house laboratory capabilities** for rapid analysis of blood work (e.g., complete blood counts, chemistry panels), urinalysis, and fecal analysis. Furthermore, **digital radiography (X-rays)** is standard for evaluating skeletal structures, internal organs, and identifying foreign objects or other internal abnormalities. Depending on their full capabilities, they may also offer **ultrasound** for more detailed soft tissue imaging.

Apr 24, 2025 · jennifer GonzalezDO NOT TAKE YOUR BABIES HERE!! Very rude, condescending, and unprofessional. I recently moved from Austin so it was my first time here, noted my dog has never had trouble going to the vet. I brought my 15lb mini Aussie for a yearly check up. When I first walked in, I was not welcomed and almost felt like I was a bother since they didn’t want to be there. During the appointment, they told me they were unable to give him his rectal exam and also wanted me to give him the bordetella (oral liquid medicine) MYSELF since they couldn’t do it. I then asked about anxiety medication for my dog since they had trouble with him squirming and was told “that’s a good idea” without any other information as he walked out. Then upon checking out, the receptionist did not have any knowledge regarding heart worm medication brands and had to ask the other receptionist. I tried my hardest to remain respectful and kind. Finally, I asked the receptionist with brown hair (noted she was just standing there) for their clinics email so I can claim it on my insurance and was ignored. I then said “oh okay” and then she responded 15 seconds later with the most condescending response. This was by far the worst vet clinic I have ever been to and will not be back.
Apr 17, 2025 · Elyssa DelgadoWe have been taking our fur-children of all species to WVC for many years now. They never disappoint - from managing our cattle checks, de-horning our son’s show steer, caring for our goldendoodle when he had some sudden critical condition, supporting us through deciding to help our cat - who they had helped keep alive years longer than he would have lived without their expert management of his rarely survived fungal pneumonia that became a multi-organ involved infection - to annual vet checks…they do it all with such compassion and a true love of what they do. Can’t thank them enough for always finding time to squeezes us in for those unexpected, sometimes scary events - we LOVE the team at WVC!
Apr 19, 2025 · Chelsea TrichelWe've boarded our fur baby with them several times in the past. This time, they were able to trim her. Janelle did an excellent job on her. I've already made an appointment for her to be trimed agian. I like their facilities better than other places we've used. I feel it's more secure. I highly recommend Wharton Veterinary Clinic.
