Treats you like family… My wife has had nothing but positive things to say about the clinic. Our dog and cat are taken care of, we are able to schedule as needed with minimal wait, and staff remember us. I, personally, have felt slightly off about the office simply because I have voiced concern regarding my cat’s chronic runny nose (due to herpes) on two different visits only to be dismissed. However, unless I have a truly heartbreaking experience, I will continue to take my kids here due to the staff treating us as family as well as always inquiring about the health of my cat when my wife visits. Oh and a drive thru pet pharmacy?? That’s epic. 👍🏼

Welcome to West Side Pet Hospital & Paw's Inn, a dedicated pet hospital located at 2701 Mesker Park Dr, Evansville, IN 47720, USA. Serving the local community, West Side Pet Hospital & Paw's Inn functions as a comprehensive platform in the 'Pet Hospital' category, providing a wide array of essential veterinary services and convenient goods to ensure the health and well-being of your beloved animal companions. You can reach them at (812) 464-1086 or their mobile number +1 812-464-1086.
Based on available information, West Side Pet Hospital & Paw's Inn strives to offer a welcoming and supportive environment for both pets and their owners. One recurring theme in customer feedback suggests a clinic where staff members are perceived as treating clients "like family." This indicates a focus on building personal relationships and providing a comfortable and reassuring atmosphere during visits. For pet owners, knowing their animals are cared for by a team that remembers them and inquires about their pet's health can be a significant comfort.
The services offered at West Side Pet Hospital & Paw's Inn appear to be comprehensive, catering to various aspects of pet health. While specific details on all services are not explicitly listed, the positive review mentions routine care for both dogs and cats, the ability to schedule appointments as needed with minimal wait times, and the convenience of a drive-thru pet pharmacy. This drive-thru pharmacy is highlighted as an "epic" feature, suggesting a commitment to making medication pick-up as easy and efficient as possible for busy pet owners. This innovative approach demonstrates a willingness to adapt and provide services that enhance convenience for their clientele.
However, it is important to present a balanced perspective based on all available feedback. One customer review expresses significant dissatisfaction with the staff's helpfulness, specifically regarding the retrieval of medical records and test results. This review alleges a rigid adherence to outdated methods (faxing only) and an unwillingness to explore alternative, more convenient options like email or mail. The customer also reports difficulty in speaking with the veterinarian and describes their overall visits as "mediocre at best." This negative feedback raises concerns about communication protocols and the flexibility of administrative processes within the hospital.
Considering the contrasting reviews, potential local users should weigh the positive comments regarding a family-like atmosphere and convenient services like the drive-thru pharmacy against the negative feedback concerning administrative inflexibility and communication challenges. It is advisable for pet owners to directly inquire about specific processes, such as obtaining medical records, during their initial interactions with the hospital to ensure their needs can be met.
To provide a more detailed understanding of what West Side Pet Hospital & Paw's Inn might offer, we can infer some common services expected from a pet hospital based on the category and general practices within the veterinary field. These typically include:
Routine and Preventative Care: This cornerstone of pet health involves regular check-ups, vaccinations to protect against common and potentially dangerous diseases, parasite prevention (such as flea, tick, and heartworm medication), and nutritional counseling to ensure pets maintain a healthy weight and diet. These services are crucial for the long-term health and well-being of pets.
Diagnostic Services: When a pet is unwell, accurate diagnosis is key. Pet hospitals often offer a range of diagnostic tools, including laboratory services (blood tests, urine analysis, fecal exams), imaging technologies (such as X-rays and potentially ultrasound), and other specialized tests to identify the underlying cause of illness.
Surgical Services: Many pet hospitals provide surgical procedures, ranging from routine surgeries like spaying and neutering to more complex soft tissue or orthopedic surgeries. The availability of surgical services often depends on the hospital's facilities and the expertise of their veterinary staff.
Dental Care: Dental health is an often-overlooked but vital aspect of a pet's overall health. Services may include routine dental cleanings to remove plaque and tartar, dental examinations, and treatment for dental diseases or injuries.
Emergency and Urgent Care: While not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, many pet hospitals offer services for pets requiring urgent or emergency medical attention. It would be beneficial to inquire about their emergency protocols and availability.
Pet Pharmacy: The mention of a drive-thru pet pharmacy indicates that West Side Pet Hospital & Paw's Inn likely dispenses prescription medications and possibly over-the-counter pet care products. A drive-thru option adds significant convenience for pet owners needing to pick up medications quickly.
Potential Additional Services: Given the name "Paw's Inn," it is possible that West Side Pet Hospital & Paw's Inn also offers pet boarding services. This would be a valuable convenience for pet owners needing a safe and supervised environment for their animals while they are away. It would be advisable to inquire directly about boarding facilities, availability, and any specific requirements.
Features: The standout feature mentioned in the reviews is the drive-thru pet pharmacy, which offers a unique level of convenience for medication pick-ups. The positive review also highlights the staff's friendly and family-oriented approach, which can create a more comfortable and trusting environment for pet owners.
Promotional Information: Currently, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided text. Local users are encouraged to contact West Side Pet Hospital & Paw's Inn directly to inquire about any ongoing promotions, discounts, or special offers for new clients or specific services.
In conclusion, West Side Pet Hospital & Paw's Inn in Evansville, IN, presents itself as a pet hospital aiming to provide comprehensive veterinary care with a focus on a welcoming and family-like atmosphere. The convenience of a drive-thru pet pharmacy is a notable feature. Sep 24, 2024 · Sam AdamsUnbelievably unhelpful staff. They refused to help me get the medical records from my dog and the test results they took from her. Apparently, they live in 1997 and will only fax them. They won't mail, email or even send a picture. They wouldn't let me speak with the Dr. Who has a fax machine in 2025? Totally unwilling to be solution-oriented in any way to get me the information that is legally mine. Visits were always mediocre at best to start with. Would not recommend.
Feb 28, 2025 · Morgan Olsen BowermanI have been to this location only one time but it seems like a good place to continue bringing my pet. I brought my cat Holly in to get her rabies shot updated. My appointment was at 4:30 P.M. and I was seen roughly 10 minutes later. The office staff, vet techs and veterinarian himself were all very friendly and informative. Not so much a complaint but more of a suggestion, I'd suggest this vet office post their prices for services offered on their website. I paid $100 for a 3 year rabies shot for my cat which is not a bad price at all, I just think it would benefit their clients to share the pricing ahead of time. For anyone considering using this vet for the first time, you should know that you will have to go to the vet in-person before getting an appointment and fill out some papers along with paying an $80 deposit to hold the appointment. I personally view this as a reasonable practice but still something that potential new clients should be aware of. Overall would 10/10 recommend this vet and I will continue using this location for my pet.
Nov 27, 2024 · Trenton HallMade my moms dog a sick visit appointment, the next day she was feeling better. I called the vet that morning and told them she no longer needed her appointment. They charged me $85 for not cancelling 24 hours in advance. How was I supposed to know she was going to feel better? Been going here for years, but I will not be back.
Dec 27, 2024 · Jeri GaultneyPaws requires a $85 up front fee for new patients which they apparently apply to your first time visit. Having a senior dog, he sometimes does not want to jump up into the car. I had to cancel our appt. and Paws would not forward the $, due to a 24 hour cancelation notice. I understand they are a business, but one would think compassion towards animal's would be at the forefront of their business. I find this policy ridiculous and will NEVER recommend them to anyone! Shame on you!
