Highly recommend Dr Heidi and her staff. Very no nonsense vet office - you are seen quickly, diagnosed quickly and treated quickly, all with compassion and care. Prices are incredibly affordable for a vets office. We had to put down one of our cats and Dr Heidi was very understanding and fit us in that day so he didn't suffer longer. She said goodbye to him as well, which meant a lot to see a vet show that level of empathy.

The emphasis is on proactive health management to ensure long-term well-being and prevent illnesses.
Diagnostic Services: The ability to diagnose quickly is a highlighted feature. This suggests the presence of essential diagnostic tools such as in-house laboratory testing (blood work, urinalysis, fecal exams) and likely imaging capabilities (X-rays) to accurately identify health issues and guide treatment decisions.
Medical Treatment: The veterinary team is skilled in diagnosing and treating a wide array of acute and chronic medical conditions. Their ability to "get her better" in a severe case like parvovirus demonstrates their proficiency in managing complex and critical illnesses.

Compassionate Euthanasia and End-of-Life Care: As directly mentioned in a review, the hospital provides deeply compassionate end-of-life services. Dr. Heidi's understanding and willingness to fit in a pet's euthanasia "that day so he didn't suffer longer," and her personal farewell, underscore their commitment to supporting families through the most difficult times.

Her profound empathy, particularly in difficult situations like euthanasia, where she personally said goodbye to a pet, showcases a level of compassionate care that deeply resonates with pet owners.
The "no nonsense" yet compassionate approach is a unique selling point. This indicates an efficient practice that values directness and prompt action without sacrificing the quality of care or the emotional support needed by clients. This efficiency in diagnosis and treatment means less waiting and quicker recovery for pets, which is highly valued by owners.
The affordability of services is another major distinguishing feature. In an industry where veterinary costs can be a significant concern for pet owners, West River Valley Veterinary Service's commitment to "incredibly affordable prices" makes high-quality care more accessible, fostering greater compliance with treatment plans and ensuring more pets receive the care they need.
The success stories, such as helping a dog recover from a severe case of parvovirus after adoption, further solidify their reputation for effective and dedicated medical intervention. Feb 13, 2024 · Laura MaturoI adopted a dog from Alabama that had porvo and was very sick and we didnt know if she would make it west river valley vet was very caring and helped us get her better. I can not suggest them enough.
Jan 16, 2020 · Alex ShippeeThe vet techs here are wonderful; that's why I didn't give one star - or a negative number! Our dog, with one acl surgical repair, 6 years before, was running across the field, put his leg in a woodchuck hole and screamed. He could barely limp. Anyone who's seen a dog with an acl tear knows what they look like. Dr. Winot told us she was positive it was arthritis, and ordered expensive shots. He had a nearly complete tear, that was repaired by a competent specialist. I could never recommend a vet who can't diagnose such a serious, common, injury.
Jan 16, 2024 · Ann McCannSo helpful. Kind. Loving to our animals. And our cats love it there, which is saying a lot because they don't usually respond well to people they don't see daily. I have no doubts that they are getting anything but the best possible care and attention.
Jul 07, 2023 · Cassandra VSo so happy with the compassion and care we got today!! I have a fear aggressive German shepherd who's highly anxious around people. They were SO respectful of her and patient with her. I'm actually tearful over how great the experience was for my rescue baby! As an added bonus, they're REALLY affordable!
