We had a great new patient appointment! The front desk staff were very welcoming. Someone’s dog peed in the waiting area from nerves, and the staff came out and cleaned it up/gave a towel to the owner who was peed on and were very kind about it, as you’d hope for. Our vet tech, Mayra, was very friendly and conversational, and Dr. Whitworth was patient and took the time to answer all my questions about various vaccines, future preventative care, etc. she also administered the vaccines in front of me, which was nice. At my old vet, they’d take my dog to a back area for 15-25 mins for a little shot. This seems much less stressful on the animals. I was a little nervous after reading some people’s reviews about the appointment confirmation set-up, but it’s really straightforward. When you pay the initial deposit, the invoice notes that you will still need to confirm your appointment in order to keep it & the fees for cancellation/missing last minute are explained clearly. Nothing unusual - same practice I’d expect at any spa or salon. 1 or 2 days before the appointment, I got an email very clearly asking me to confirm the appointment by clicking a link or to call if I needed to reschedule. The link took me to a page acknowledging my confirmation was successful. Again, same practice as most places I make appointments at.

Welcome to West Lynn Veterinary Clinic

Welcome to West Lynn Veterinary Clinic, your trusted Pet Hospital located at 709 W Lynn St in the heart of Austin, Texas. We are dedicated to providing high-quality and compassionate veterinary care for your beloved pets. Our team, including experienced professionals like Dr. Whitworth and our friendly vet tech Mayra, strives to create a welcoming and stress-free environment for both you and your animal companions.

Based on feedback from our clients, West Lynn Veterinary Clinic stands out for its exceptional service and caring approach. One new patient shared their positive experience, highlighting the welcoming nature of our front desk staff. They recounted an incident where a nervous dog had an accident in the waiting area, and our staff responded with kindness and efficiency, immediately cleaning up and offering assistance to the owner. This reflects our commitment to a supportive and understanding environment for all visitors.

The same reviewer also praised our vet tech, Mayra, for being very friendly and conversational. Furthermore, they appreciated Dr. Whitworth's patient approach in answering all their questions regarding vaccines and future preventative care. A notable feature mentioned was that Dr. Whitworth administered the vaccines in the owner's presence, which was preferred over their previous vet's practice of taking the dog to a back area for vaccinations. This approach aims to reduce stress for the animals by keeping them with their owners during procedures.

Concerns about the appointment confirmation process mentioned in some reviews were also addressed by a client who found the system to be straightforward. They explained that upon paying the initial deposit, the invoice clearly states the need for confirmation to secure the appointment, along with the fees for late cancellations or missed appointments – a standard practice similar to spas or salons. They received a clear email reminder one to two days before their appointment with a link to confirm or a number to call for rescheduling, and the confirmation process via the link was successful. This indicates a transparent and organized system for managing appointments.

Another deeply moving review came from a client who recently switched to West Lynn Veterinary Clinic after 25 years with another practice and found the experience to be "night and day." Tragically, within weeks of their first visit, they faced an unexpected emergency requiring them to euthanize their beloved dog. They expressed immense gratitude for Dr. Whitworth's immediate responsiveness, her willingness to stay late on a Friday (missing a family commitment) to support them, and for providing expert and empathetic counsel during this incredibly difficult time. The client felt "seen, heard and (literally) hugged" in a way they had never experienced before at a vet. Despite the sad circumstances, they were so impressed with the care that they affirmed they would be returning with their other pets. They described the clinic as bright and clean, the staff as friendly, organized, attentive, and detail-oriented, and appreciated that the practice is owned by two women who are clearly passionate about their work, contrasting this with a "faceless PE firm."

Based on these reviews, key features and likely services at West Lynn Veterinary Clinic include:

I can't say enough about West Lynn Vet, including Dr Whitworth and the whole supporting team. We recently switched from another practice after 3 dogs and 25 yrs -- and the experience was night and day (more on that below). Unfortunately, we happened to have an unexpected emergency that required us to put our sweet boy down within weeks of meeting them. Dr. Whitworth was immediately responsive, stayed late on a Friday afternoon (missing a family commit) to help and support us, and provided expert, empathetic counsel in the face of a very traumatic and difficult decision. We felt seen, heard and (literally) hugged in a way that I never have before. The saddest part is we didn't get to have her as our vet as long as we hoped. BUT we will be back soon...the office is bright and clean, the staff are friendly, organized, attentive and detail-oriented, and the whole practice is owned by two women who clearly love what they do (vs a faceless PE firm just driving toward a bottom line). If you're looking for a new practice, look no further. Thank you Dr. Whitworth, you'll always be in our hearts

This clinic is it! Do not look further. I took my dog here for 8 years and never once had a bad experience or questioned the care she was getting. What has stood out to me even more, is what has happened since my dog's passing. Unfortunately we had to put her down elsewhere as it was very sudden, but we still received a handwritten card with sentiments from all the staff, AS WELL as a tree being planted in her honor from the clinic. We are blown away that they went above and beyond to honor our dog in that way. We are so appreciative of how compassionate they were to her during her life as well. Whenever we came to clinic and she was anxious and unpredictable, every member of the staff was understanding, never judgmental, and everything went smoothly. Again cannot recommend West Lynn Vet enough.

Our dogs have been going to West Lynn for decades. Our last dog had an autoimmune disease and Dr. Whitworth and her staff took amazing care of him over the years. I was really touched by the care and concern and follow-up calls we have received during his treatment there. Sadly, he passed away after almost 9 years and we received an outpouring of sympathy from West Lynn (phone call, a beautiful sympathy card, flowers and a donation in his name). I can't recommend this veterinary clinic more. The doctors are bright, hard-working and truly care about your pet.

Kind and caring. And as important they tell you straight what is happening, that it will cost, and support you in making a good decision. Thanks so much for helping us with our two pups
