Welcome to West Hollywood Animal Hospital

Located prominently at 9000 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069, USA, West Hollywood Animal Hospital stands as a dedicated establishment providing essential veterinary care to the local community. For pet owners seeking professional and attentive services, the hospital can be reached at (310) 275-0055 or via mobile at +1 310-275-0055. This facility operates as a comprehensive Pet Hospital, a designation that signifies its capacity to offer a wide range of medical, surgical, and preventative services for companion animals, primarily dogs and cats.

The term "Pet Hospital" indicates that West Hollywood Animal Hospital is equipped with the necessary facilities and trained personnel to handle various aspects of animal health, from routine check-ups and vaccinations to more complex diagnostic procedures and treatments. Unlike a general dog park, which focuses on recreation and socialization, a "Pet Hospital" is a medical institution. Therefore, when discussing services or goods for sale, within the context of a "Pet Hospital," it refers to veterinary medical services, diagnostics, prescribed medications, therapeutic diets, and perhaps some essential pet care products directly related to health and wellness, rather than pet accessories or grooming supplies typically found in a retail pet store. This hospital acts as a primary care provider for pets, offering integrated health solutions under one roof.

Environment and Atmosphere

The environment at West Hollywood Animal Hospital is consistently portrayed as professional and welcoming, fostering a positive experience for both pets and their owners. Customers frequently commend the "wonderful staff" and their polite and helpful demeanor. The atmosphere appears to be designed to make visits as comfortable as possible, with reviews noting that even pets like "Princess enjoyed her visit." This suggests that the clinic employs practices that reduce stress for animals, contributing to a calmer experience during examinations and treatments.

A significant aspect of the environment is the sense of trust and genuine care conveyed by the veterinary team, particularly Dr. Chapman. Clients report that Dr. Chapman’s "suggestions and advice have always felt genuine and from the perspective of what she would do if it were for her fur baby." This level of empathy and personalized care creates a supportive environment where pet owners feel their concerns are truly understood and addressed with their pet's best interests at heart. The clinic strives for transparency, helping owners "understand and decide what's best for our dog" without feeling "misguided, taken advantage of, or misled in any way," which builds strong rapport and confidence.

Comprehensive Services

As a full-service Pet Hospital, West Hollywood Animal Hospital offers a broad array of veterinary services to ensure the health and well-being of its animal patients. These services typically include:

  • Wellness and Preventative Care: This fundamental aspect of pet health involves routine physical examinations, age-appropriate vaccinations, and effective parasite prevention programs. These proactive measures are crucial for early disease detection and maintaining a pet's long-term vitality.

  • Diagnostic Services: The hospital would be equipped with in-house laboratory capabilities for rapid blood tests, urinalysis, and fecal examinations. Additionally, advanced imaging services such as digital radiography (X-rays) and potentially ultrasound would be available to aid in accurate diagnosis of various conditions.

  • Medical Treatment: The veterinary team provides comprehensive medical care for a wide range of illnesses and conditions, from acute infections to chronic diseases. This includes managing conditions, prescribing medications, and developing tailored treatment plans.

  • Surgical Services: The hospital likely performs common surgical procedures, including spaying and neutering, soft tissue surgeries (e.g., mass removals), and potentially more complex procedures as needed.

  • Dental Care: Comprehensive dental services, including cleanings, extractions, and oral health assessments, are vital for preventing dental disease and its systemic effects on a pet's health.

  • Emergency and Urgent Care: While not necessarily a 24/7 emergency center, a pet hospital is prepared to handle urgent medical situations during its operational hours, providing immediate care for injuries, sudden illnesses, or other critical conditions.

  • Nutritional Counseling: Guidance on proper diet and nutrition is often provided to support overall health, manage specific medical conditions, and promote healthy growth and development for pets of all ages.

  • In-House Pharmacy: Integral to its function as a pet hospital, West Hollywood Animal Hospital maintains an on-site pharmacy. This allows veterinarians to directly dispense medications, therapeutic diets, and other prescribed veterinary products to clients. Having an in-house pharmacy ensures that treatments can commence immediately following a diagnosis, and it provides pet owners with convenient access to genuine, veterinarian-approved products for their pets’ specific health needs.

W. Hollywood and Dr. Chapman has been a great help with the care of our fur baby (dog). Whenever communicating with Dr. Chapman, her suggestions and advice have always felt genuine and from the perspective of what she would do if it were for her fur baby. We've had a positive experience with this clinic. We would suggest this clinic to family and friends. As for the low ranking reviews, most are about money. I'll say this about this clinic, Dr. Chapman has always provided context and prioritization with her medical advice to help us understand and decide what's best for our dog. We've never felt misguided, taken advantage of, or misled in any way.

Do not go here! They don’t care about animals, just money and they will nickel and dime you over every little thing. They don’t allow humans in during the exam, so you have no idea how they are treating your pet and with some of the reviews on here I don’t think it’s very good. But the worst part: I changed to a different vet two years ago and they still call me once a month to tell me that my dog is due for vaccines. I always tell them I see a different vet and ask them to remove me from the list and yet they still call. Do not recommend.

I love this clinic. I love that they're still using sensible COVID precautions. I honestly think it's less stressful for my cat when I'm not in the room while they're being examined. Very accessible location, too. Worth every penny!

Ive seen Dr. Sabrina Chapman since she was at Beverly Oaks in Sherman Oaks and followed her to WH-AH when she transferred here because I appreciated how thorough she is when addressing my dog’s needs. She doesn’t sugar coat things, just speaks very directly and always makes sure to explain in depth what is going on and what my options are. She is very responsive to any follow up emails I have inquiring about things related to my dog’s health that I didn’t think of at the time of our appointment. This hospital isn’t cheap, but it’s worth the expense to know I’m getting the best of care for my 8 year old pitty. Highly recommend!
