I went to Dr Anderson for advice on flea and tick preventative and Heartworm prevention. I also needed food recommendations. I wanted holistic advice and I didn’t learn anything. Very disappointed after making the trip from Terre haute and then I still had to go back to my regular vet for vaccinations. I was very confused when I left.

When selecting a Pet Hospital for your animal companion, it is important to consider the experiences of other pet owners alongside the services offered. The limited information available for West Central Veterinary Services: Harpold Ted J DVM provides initial feedback that potential clients should consider. One review expresses disappointment with a specific consultation, while the other offers a positive sentiment regarding the team.
One customer recounts a visit to "Dr Anderson" seeking advice on flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and pet food recommendations, specifically requesting holistic advice. The reviewer, who traveled from Terre Haute, expresses significant disappointment, stating that they "didn’t learn anything" during the consultation. This led to the necessity of returning to their regular veterinarian for vaccinations, indicating a perceived lack of comprehensive service or alignment with the reviewer's expectations. The reviewer concludes by stating they were "very confused" upon leaving. This feedback suggests a potential disconnect between the client's expectations, particularly regarding holistic advice, and the information provided during the consultation.
In contrast, the second review offers a positive sentiment, albeit focused on a departing member of the team. It mentions that "Dr Julie will be deeply missed as she is semi-retiring" and describes the team as "a wonderful group of people to work with." This review highlights positive aspects of the clinic's staff and their working relationships, suggesting a potentially supportive and pleasant environment for both colleagues and clients. However, it does not directly address the scope or quality of the veterinary services provided.
Given these two contrasting reviews, it is challenging to form a definitive picture of the overall environment and service quality at West Central Veterinary Services: Harpold Ted J DVM. The negative review raises concerns about the thoroughness of consultations and the provision of specific types of advice, while the positive review speaks to the pleasantness of the team but does not detail the veterinary care itself.
As a Pet Hospital, West Central Veterinary Services: Harpold Ted J DVM would typically be expected to offer a range of services to maintain the health and well-being of pets. These services might include:
- Preventative Wellness Care: Regular check-ups, vaccinations, parasite prevention (fleas, ticks, heartworms, intestinal worms), and nutritional counseling are essential components of proactive pet healthcare. The negative review, however, suggests a potential limitation in the depth or type of nutritional and preventative advice offered in at least one instance.
- General Medical Services: Diagnosis and treatment of common illnesses and injuries, management of chronic diseases, and supportive care for various medical conditions. The reviews do not provide specific insights into the quality or scope of these services.
- Dental Care: Services aimed at maintaining oral health, such as dental cleanings, examinations, and treatment of dental issues. No information regarding dental services is provided in the reviews.
- Surgical Services: Depending on the facilities and the veterinarians' expertise, surgical procedures, ranging from routine to more complex, might be offered. The reviews do not mention surgical services.
- Diagnostic Services: Utilizing tools such as laboratory testing and imaging (e.g., X-rays) to aid in diagnosis. The reviews do not provide information about diagnostic capabilities.
- Emergency and Urgent Care: Information regarding the availability and handling of emergency or urgent cases is not provided in the reviews.
- Senior Pet Care: Tailored care for older pets with age-related health concerns. The reviews do not mention specific services for senior pets.
- Nutritional Counseling: While one review specifically sought and was disappointed with the nutritional advice received, the overall approach to nutritional counseling at the clinic remains unclear.
Features that pet owners often value in a Pet Hospital include knowledgeable and helpful veterinarians and staff, clear communication, a comfortable and clean environment, and comprehensive services. The reviews offer mixed signals, with one suggesting a lack of helpful advice in a specific area and the other praising the team's pleasantness. Further information is needed to assess these aspects fully.
There is no information available regarding any promotional offers or wellness plans for West Central Veterinary Services: Harpold Ted J DVM. Potential clients would need to inquire directly about such offerings.
Local users considering West Central Veterinary Services: Harpold Ted J DVM for their pet's healthcare needs should consider the available feedback. The negative review highlights a potential area of concern regarding the depth of certain consultations, while the positive review focuses on the team's interpersonal qualities. It would be beneficial for potential clients to contact the clinic directly to inquire about their specific services, the expertise of their veterinarians (including Dr. Anderson and any other vets besides the retiring Dr. Julie), and their approach to consultations, especially regarding preventative care and holistic advice. Seeking clarification on their service offerings and the qualifications of their team will help local users make an informed decision about their pet's care.
In conclusion, the publicly available online reviews for West Central Veterinary Services: Harpold Ted J DVM in Rockville, IN, offer mixed perspectives. One review expresses disappointment with a consultation regarding preventative care and nutrition, while the other praises the team's pleasantness, particularly noting the upcoming semi-retirement of Dr. Julie.
