I absolutely love West Allis Animal Hospital! The staff are amazing and Dr. Karen is the best. We have more dogs than we care to admit to, and WAAH is there for us every single time. We have multiple dogs on life-long medications, including some older ones that require extra care. I honestly wouldn’t go anywhere else. The mini Doxi in this picture is 17 years old and doing well thanks to them!

Have been coming here for the past two years since we adopted our dog and always have a great experience. Front desk, vet techs and Dr. Selbert are always so kind and I feel like they really care about the well being of my dog. Good quality care and never have to wait too long.

As of today I will be seeking a different vet. I have requested a call back to discuss my dog's medical condition 3 times, and once I was completely ignored and the other times they emailed me instead. On those emails I have had to repeat myself which shows inattentiveness and a lack of attention to detail. I don't understand why it's so hard to speak to a vet or a vet tech, but it's not a problem I had at my last vet. Today I asked for a callback and instead got an email asking for a list of my questions. It might not be a big deal to some, but as a first time dog owner, I want to be able to talk things through and ask questions and really understand what's going on. I think maybe they are just very busy and the Dr. Is going from patient to patient and doesn't have time to make calls, answer questions, or be caring and compassionate. I saw this in my visits as well. Dr. Selbert was in and out as fast as humanly possible. I literally laughed when she walked away the first time as I was asking questions after a 5 minute long visit in which she did not interact with my dog at all other than to throw kibble on the floor to keep her distracted. She did an awful job of explaining things to me and seemed inconveniened when I had follow up questions. My dog has medical issues and I don't know what to do, and this clinic has disappointed me. I never felt heard. I never felt that they have compassion and care for my dog. This is not a place I would recommend to anyone. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I feel so frustrated with my experience here I have an obligation to share. I really hope they either hire on more vets so they have the capacity to act with care and compassion, as that's what all animals and animal owners deserve.

My dog can be spicy with strangers and both vet visits here were, hands down, our most pleasant vet visits in the three years I’ve had my dog. Everyone was very sweet and patient. Will def be recommending to literally every pet owner I know.

Looking like nothing but a money grab with from a cat with an ear infection. Been going on 2 months of treatments and now getting well it might be an allergy with his food. He had this ear infection before current diet, no other signs of allergic reactions, excuse after excuse for not changing treatment. Be extra careful using this facility. They were our vet for our dog and other cats but now looking elsewhere.

I have been bringing my dogs to West Allis Animal Hospital for 8+ years. The customer service, compassion, and kindness were a standing pillar of why I have continued to bring my dogs here. I have unfortunately felt and watched this level of service decline over the past year through short pointed conversations, unwillingness to work with their clients to meet needs in regards to scheduling/hours limitations, and just being rigid. I left my appointment in August so frustrated that I considered finding a new clinic for my dogs. Ultimately, I decided not do this because of the great care Dr. Steffens provides. Unfortunately, I had another bad experience via telephone today; this might be the breaking point. I hope this reaches you all with open ears because your support staff is negatively overshadowing the great care your physicians provide.
