Worse vet experience ever. The receptionist and veterinarian were extremely judgmental, cold and condescending. Both of them had terrible bedside manner. After, I disagreed with some of the Medications such as Antibiotics that he didn’t need because his fecal test was Negative and probiotics, but I already purchased some of my own. They were extremely rude after I declined it. I had also asked about a holistic diet, but I was given a lot of judgment for feeding him raw food instead of education. I was informed that he was healthy and that he needed to put on some weight which was great. Although, When I asked if he was 100% clear and exam notes the vet said that she would write them for me. However, the receptionist was extremely rude and hostile and stated that my puppy was not at 100% health which was the opposite information the vet told me. I asked if I could speak to the vet again to confirm that information and asked them to make the exam notes more legible for the reader. Both of them acted as if this was an issue. I will not be returning to this clinic.

Welcome to the introduction of Wells Branch Pet & Bird Clinic - Savita M Wadhwani DVM, your local Pet Hospital situated at 12202 N Mopac Expy Ste A, Austin, TX 78758, USA. As a dedicated pet care platform, we understand the importance of finding a reliable and comprehensive veterinary service provider for your beloved animal companions. Wells Branch Pet & Bird Clinic aims to cater to a diverse range of pets, including dogs, cats, birds, and potentially other exotic animals, offering a variety of medical and surgical services to ensure their health and well-being.
To connect local users in Singapore with this Austin-based pet hospital, it's crucial to provide a detailed overview of what the clinic offers, based on publicly available information. While the clinic is geographically distant, understanding its services and reputation can be valuable for those seeking to understand the standards of care in international veterinary practices or for individuals relocating to the Austin area.
Environment:
Based on one of the provided customer reviews, the physical building of Wells Branch Pet & Bird Clinic "could use a makeover." This suggests that while the clinic may focus on providing medical care, the aesthetic aspect of the facility might be perceived as somewhat dated by some visitors. However, it's important to note that the appearance of a clinic does not always directly correlate with the quality of medical care provided. A clean and functional environment is paramount in a veterinary setting to ensure hygiene and prevent the spread of infections. While the review mentions the building's appearance, it also positively notes the overall experience, indicating that the services provided might outweigh any concerns about the facility's aesthetics. Further information or images of the clinic's interior would be beneficial to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the environment from a patient comfort and functionality perspective.
Services:
The name "Wells Branch Pet & Bird Clinic" clearly indicates a focus on providing veterinary care for both common household pets like dogs and cats, as well as avian companions. The presence of a veterinarian with the designation DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) assures that the clinic is staffed by a qualified medical professional. While the provided information doesn't explicitly list all the services offered, the nature of a pet hospital typically encompasses a wide array of medical, surgical, and preventative care. These often include:
- Wellness Exams: Routine check-ups to assess the overall health of your pet, including physical examinations, vaccinations, and parasite control.
- Vaccinations: Administering necessary vaccines to protect pets from various infectious diseases.
- Dental Care: Providing dental cleanings, examinations, and treatments to maintain your pet's oral health.
- Surgery: Performing various surgical procedures, which could range from routine spays and neuters to more complex soft tissue or orthopedic surgeries. The specific surgical capabilities would need to be confirmed through further information.
- Diagnostic Services: Utilizing laboratory tests (such as fecal tests mentioned in the review), imaging techniques (like X-rays or ultrasound, though not explicitly stated), and other diagnostic tools to identify and monitor health conditions.
- Medication and Prescriptions: Dispensing necessary medications for treatment and prevention of various ailments.
- Nutritional Counseling: Offering guidance on appropriate diets for pets, potentially including specialized diets for specific health conditions. The negative review mentions a discussion about holistic and raw food diets, suggesting this might be a topic the clinic addresses, though perhaps with a more conventional approach.
- Emergency Care: While not explicitly stated, many pet hospitals offer services for urgent or emergency situations during their operating hours. It would be important to confirm if Wells Branch Pet & Bird Clinic provides such services and what their protocols are for after-hours emergencies.
- Care for Birds and Exotic Pets: The clinic's name highlights its specialization in avian care. This suggests expertise in the unique medical needs of birds, which can differ significantly from those of cats and dogs. They may also cater to other exotic pets, although this is not explicitly detailed.
Features:
Based on the limited information, it's challenging to definitively outline the unique features of Wells Branch Pet & Bird Clinic. However, we can infer some potential aspects:
- Experienced Veterinarian: The presence of Savita M Wadhwani DVM indicates a qualified and licensed veterinarian overseeing the medical care provided at the clinic. The experience and specialization of the veterinarian can be a significant factor for pet owners.
- Dual Focus on Common and Exotic Pets: The clinic's specific mention of "Pet & Bird Clinic" suggests a potential specialization or at least a comfortable level of expertise in treating avian species, which is not always a standard offering at all veterinary practices. This could be a key feature for bird owners in the Austin area. The possibility of also treating other exotic pets could further distinguish the clinic.
- Affordable Upfront Prices: One positive customer review specifically mentions "affordable upfront prices." This transparency and affordability can be a significant advantage for pet owners concerned about the cost of veterinary care.
However, it's crucial to also consider the negative feedback present in the reviews:
- Concerns about Bedside Manner: One review expresses significant dissatisfaction with the receptionist and veterinarian's "judgmental, cold and condescending" attitude and "terrible bedside manner." This highlights a potential area of concern regarding client communication and empathy.
- Disagreements on Treatment and Holistic Approaches: The reviewer also mentions disagreements regarding medication (antibiotics and probiotics) and a negative reaction to discussing a raw food diet. This suggests a potentially more conventional approach to treatment and nutrition, and a possible lack of openness to alternative viewpoints.
- Inconsistencies in Information and Communication Issues: The discrepancy between the veterinarian's assessment of the puppy's health and the receptionist's statement, along with difficulties in obtaining clear exam notes, points to potential communication breakdowns within the clinic.
It is important for prospective clients to weigh both the positive and negative feedback when considering this clinic. While affordable pricing is a definite advantage, concerns about communication and bedside manner should also be taken into account, as a positive and trusting relationship with the veterinary team is crucial for many pet owners.
Promotional Information:
Based on the provided information, there is no specific promotional material available. Typically, pet hospitals might offer promotions such as discounts on first visits, vaccination packages, dental cleaning specials, or loyalty programs. Dec 31, 2022 · Bret OstendorfWe adopted a female stray and needed her to be checked out, chipped and spayed as soon as possible. Dr. Wadhwani's staff was so kind and got us in quickly. Dr. Wadhwani was very knowledgeable and put us at ease- this is our first girl dog. The surgery went well, beautiful stitches, and the dog is doing great. Prices were more than reasonable. Dr. Wadhwani did the necessary bloodwork to do the best job, but didn't add on extra unnecessary stuff. Really appreciate that! I would definitely recommend the clinic for a good no frills solid experience with an experienced vet!
