I cannot begin to find the words of deep gratitude we have for Dr. Fernandez and his staff for the thoughtful care they gave our beautiful Bella, our 17-year-old ShihTzu who was experiencing issues with her eyes. They were caring, thorough, communicated what the care would entail and detailed with what was required for her follow-up. They let our vet know what was going on with Bella. I can confidently recommend Wareham Animal Hospital and thank them from the bottom of all of our hearts.

At Wareham Animal Hospital, we aim to create a caring and supportive environment for both you and your pets. While specific details about the clinic's ambiance are not extensively described in the reviews, the emphasis on thoughtful care and thorough communication suggests a professional and compassionate setting where your pet's comfort and well-being are prioritized. We understand that visiting a Pet Hospital can be stressful for some animals, and our team strives to make the experience as positive as possible.
Wareham Animal Hospital offers a wide range of veterinary services to address the diverse healthcare needs of your pets. Based on the positive review, the hospital provides thorough examinations and detailed explanations of treatment plans, particularly for senior pets with specific health concerns like eye issues. This indicates a commitment to comprehensive care and clear communication with pet owners regarding their animal's condition and required follow-up.
The mention of "urgent care" in one of the reviews suggests that Wareham Animal Hospital is equipped to handle more immediate or critical health needs for your pets. This is a valuable feature for local pet owners, providing a place to seek timely medical attention when your animal is experiencing an acute illness or injury. The availability of urgent care services can offer peace of mind knowing that help is available when you need it most.
A significant feature of Wareham Animal Hospital, as highlighted in a review, is the presence of Spanish-speaking staff, including a Spanish-speaking doctor. This is a valuable asset for the local community, ensuring that language barriers do not hinder pet owners from accessing quality veterinary care and understanding important information about their pet's health and treatment.
The positive review from the owner of a 17-year-old Shih Tzu with eye issues speaks volumes about the hospital's ability to provide thoughtful and thorough care for senior pets. The detailed communication about the treatment plan and follow-up requirements demonstrates a commitment to ensuring the pet owner is well-informed and confident in the care their animal is receiving. Furthermore, their proactive communication with the pet's regular veterinarian highlights a collaborative approach to animal healthcare.
However, one review did mention an area for potential improvement regarding follow-up communication. While the service during the urgent care visit was described as great, the lack of a follow-up call to check on the pet's well-being the next day was noted as a concern. This suggests that while the immediate care is commendable, there might be inconsistencies in post-visit communication protocols. It's important to note that the pet owner did acknowledge their dog was doing better.
While specific promotional information is not included in the provided reviews, the positive feedback regarding the quality of care and the availability of Spanish-speaking staff serve as strong endorsements for Wareham Animal Hospital. For information on any current specials, new client offers, or wellness plans that might be available, it is recommended to contact the hospital directly at (508) 273-7149. They would be the best source for any promotional details relevant to local pet owners.
In summary, Wareham Animal Hospital in Wareham, MA, offers compassionate and comprehensive veterinary care, including urgent care services. A notable feature is the availability of Spanish-speaking staff and a doctor, making their services more accessible to a broader range of pet owners in the community. The positive feedback emphasizes the thoughtful and thorough care provided, particularly for senior pets. While one review pointed out a desire for improved follow-up communication, the overall impression is of a dedicated Pet Hospital committed to the well-being of their patients. For detailed information on services, environment, and any current promotions, please contact Wareham Animal Hospital directly.

May 19, 2025 · Nancy WoodsIt was great service bit expensive liked that we had Spanish speaking Dr staff was awesome the only thing I didn’t like was that the following day I called for copy of my dogs visit summary they said ok they’ll send it but whoever answered the phone didn’t even asked how was my dog doin out of courtesy and being that he was seen at urgent care they didn’t even called to follow up just to check up on him. But he is doing much better not fully but looks a lot happier than yesterday.
Feb 25, 2025 · Beatriz OrtizWe had a great experience today at the Wareham Animal Hospital. It was our first time there, and our painted turtle’s 🐢 first ever vet visit. The staff were super friendly and Dr. Fernandez took excellent care of her. They took X-Rays and found that she has pneumonia, which he is treating. We are very happy to have discovered such a nice, knowledgeable vet nearby! Update 4/7/24 Our turtle 🐢 is back to her healthy cute self, swimming, basking and eating with a big appetite! Thanks Dr. Fernandez!
Apr 07, 2024 · ParisSunsetDr. Fernandez, is brilliant in my experiences with him, he treated my cat 16 months ago when I thought she was near death but he treated her and she came back to her usual self for 15 months. She again got very sick my first thought was to bring her back to him but when I tried he wasn't available, so mean while I brought her to 4 other vets with basically no help from any of them no one could pin point what was going on. I finally got her in to see Dr. Fernandez within 10 minutes he knew what was going on congestive heart failure yes it wasn't good but at least I knew what I was dealing with. He is very patient and explains everything. I highly recommend him if your pets need medical attention. Yes they are a little more expensive than a regular vets office but they are an urgent care facility where you can get in when your pet really needs it so it makes it worth it. The whole staff was very pleasant and helpful.
Mar 14, 2025 · donna searsWe took our dog (90 lb GSD) here because we couldn’t get in to our regular vet (per usual) for a mouth injury involving her teeth. The staff is amazing, thorough, kind, and understanding. Very up front about costs and options, break down of services discussed and also emailed immediately. I would recommend this facility and their staff to any pet owner who is tired of their regular vet shenanigans!!!
