My dog was acting weird and crying a lot and wouldn’t eat. So we rushed him to the vet, spent 3 hours waiting in a room that smelled horrible. They didn’t look at the dog, poke or prod the dog. Just took him back for x ray and blood test. Everything came back normal and after getting home we have determined the dog slept wrong and couldn’t move his neck without pain. Next day he was fine. My problem is that no costs were discussed before tests were given. I spent $600 on an xray, a blood test and a $50 prescription we didn’t need. $300 alone was for a blood test? If she would have said, an xray is $x and a blood test is $x I would have said let’s skip the blood test. $300 to take his blood is ABSURD! I would have happily declined the blood test if I would have known how much it was up front. I’ve worked many years in the service industry and that’s not how you do business. Costs, especially astronomical costs, need to be explicitly laid out before the service is performed.

Welcome to Wake Veterinary Hospital Inc: Foster Laura E DVM
This introduction focuses on Wake Veterinary Hospital Inc: Foster Laura E DVM, located at 1007 Tandal Pl, Knightdale, NC 27545, USA. As a Pet Hospital, it aims to provide medical services for animals. They can be contacted at (919) 266-9852 or their mobile number +1 919-266-9852.
Based on recent customer reviews, the experience at Wake Veterinary Hospital Inc: Foster Laura E DVM appears to have significant shortcomings in certain areas, particularly regarding wait times, communication about costs, and overall patient interaction in at least one instance. One pet owner who brought their dog in due to concerning symptoms reported a three-hour wait in a room described as having a "horrible" smell. According to this review, the veterinarian did not physically examine the dog before ordering an X-ray and blood test. The owner expressed significant dissatisfaction with the lack of cost discussion prior to these tests, resulting in a $600 bill for an X-ray, a blood test (reportedly costing $300 alone), and a $50 prescription that turned out to be unnecessary as the dog's issue resolved on its own the next day. The reviewer explicitly stated that had they known the cost of the blood test, they would have declined it, criticizing the lack of transparency in pricing, especially for what they deemed "astronomical costs."
Another customer reported an "absolutely horrible experience," citing a three-hour wait without a veterinarian even seeing their pet. This individual strongly stated they "would not recommend" the hospital, highlighting a severe issue with appointment management and patient care in their experience.
Given these reviews, it is challenging to provide a positive description of the environment, services, or features of Wake Veterinary Hospital Inc: Foster Laura E DVM based solely on this feedback. The environment was described negatively by one reviewer due to the smell in the waiting room. The services provided in one instance included X-rays and blood tests, but the process was criticized for the lack of prior consultation and cost disclosure. A potential feature could be in-house diagnostic capabilities (X-ray and blood testing), but the manner in which these were administered and billed was a major point of contention for one customer.
There is no information available regarding any promotional offers. The focus of the provided feedback is overwhelmingly negative, centered on long wait times and unexpected, high costs due to a lack of upfront communication.
The primary issue highlighted by the reviews is the apparent lack of transparency regarding the costs of services before they are rendered. This can lead to significant financial distress and a feeling of being taken advantage of by pet owners who are already concerned about their animal's health. The importance of discussing costs, especially for potentially expensive procedures like X-rays and blood tests, is a fundamental aspect of customer service in any industry, including veterinary care.
Another critical concern raised is the excessive waiting time without seeing a vet. A three-hour wait, especially when a pet owner is worried about their animal's well-being, is unacceptable. Furthermore, the instance where a pet underwent diagnostic tests without a prior physical examination by the vet raises questions about the standard protocol and communication within the hospital.
For local users in Knightdale, North Carolina, who are considering Wake Veterinary Hospital Inc: Foster Laura E DVM, it is essential to be aware of these recent customer experiences. The feedback indicates potential issues with long wait times, a lack of cost transparency, and in at least one case, a perceived lack of thorough initial assessment of the pet's condition before expensive tests were conducted. If you choose to consider this Pet Hospital, it would be advisable to explicitly inquire about the costs of any proposed tests or treatments upfront and to understand the expected wait times for appointments or walk-in services.
Given the limited and negative nature of the recent feedback provided, it is not possible to objectively describe the positive aspects of Wake Veterinary Hospital Inc: Foster Laura E DVM regarding its environment, services, or features. Local users may want to seek additional reviews or information from other sources to get a more balanced perspective or consider other veterinary practices in the Knightdale area that have consistently positive feedback regarding communication, transparency, and patient care.
In conclusion, the recent customer reviews for Wake Veterinary Hospital Inc: Foster Laura E DVM in Knightdale, NC, raise significant concerns about long wait times and a lack of transparency regarding the costs of veterinary services. Potential clients should be aware of these issues and may want to seek further information or consider alternative Pet Hospitals in the area.

Dec 31, 2024 · Corey ReganAbsolutely a horrible experience. Waited for 3 hours and still no vet came to see my pet. Despicable . I would not recommend!
Jan 23, 2025 · Theresa KirschnerWithout a doubt, this is the most compassionate vet office I've ever been in. They are professional, friendly, caring and helpful. They can arrange for your fur baby to be cremated. They are open 24/7. Highly recommend!!
Feb 26, 2024 · Patricia MeigsBest pet care! I took our fur baby feeling sure he had broken his foot/arm & even after voicing my opinion, Dr. Matthews gave her honest, expert opinion & didn't attempt to charge me for unnecessary x-rays. Our kitty was more calm coming out than going in. They're will be our forever pet care Docs!
Mar 04, 2021 · Beth PitreI have called the emergency vet a few times in references to my pup licking a toad or getting ahold of something he shouldn’t. Every time they are extremely kind and patient! Had to take my dog in one night and the service was great! I would absolutely recommend them for emergency situations. Just call before you go!
