New to Checotah. Took my female cat to be spayed. My initial phone call to set the appointment was met with rudeness. Fine, everyone has bad days, so I book the appointment against my better judgement. Arrive at 0800 to drop off the cat for her procedure and again met with rudeness by the lady at the desk. She asks if the cat is a new patient (and she is since we just moved here) and the lady follows that up by huffing and puffing because she has to fill out a few questions on the computer. I am told to sit and wait for a tech to take the cat, in which I do. When the tech does arrive, she snatches the cat carrier and disappears through the door, no "hello", no "We will take good care of her", nothing. The next day we arrive to pick the cat up and I am told I need to get her from the cage in the back because staff is scared of her. So I do. Get the cat home and it is traumatized for two days. I can't comment on the doctor(s) since I never got to meet him/her, but the staff at Voss Veterinary is absolutely horrendous. It is very obvious that they view these pets as just animals and not like the family members we view them as. They have zero customer service skills and quite frankly don't appear to care in the slightest how you or the pet feels about the visit. I will not be returning. I'd drive hours out of the way before bringing another family member to this place.

May 13, 2025 · John JonesThe vet stayed past opening with no will to properly diagnose the issue. The dog was brought there and was within 12 minutes he stated it was an ulcer and stomach bleeding, it's been a day and another (properly educated and willing) vet said it was whip and tape worms. This felt like a scam, and it surely was, handled by an incompetent vet with a thrive for money.
May 23, 2025 · Redux KaiI wanted to share my experience with Dr. Voss office. We raise Cane Corsos and Presa Canarios and we get alot of pups ears cropped. I know a few people that go to Voss for their ears so my partner made a appointment for 5 of our pups to come in to get their ears cropped for the next day. It was a 500 dollar deposit to set the appointment. I also own a trucking company and it happened to be on a Friday when we set the appointment for Saturday. However with the trucking industry the way it goes is things happen. Because of Easter they unexpectedly decided not to unload my truck until Monday morning. Because of that I wasn't able to make it home to take the puppies to the appointment we made the day before so we called and canceled because of the unforseen situation with not being able to make it home. I understand that deposits are nonrefundable so after explaining what had happened i said given the circumstances instead of just keeping my whole 500 dollars don't you think it would be fair to give me alittle credit . I suggested they only keep 300 for having to cancel and giving me 200 credit or return. They said absolutely not and that the whole 500 dollars is non refundable and it didn't matter why I wasn't able to get to the appointment. I am aware that a deposit is non refundable but as a business owner myself I feel there is a line between being fair and taking advantage of others . I expected a higher level of customer respect .

Apr 15, 2025 · James TrenaryI’m new to this area and Dr Voss was recommended to me. I have 5 horses, 6 dogs and one cat, so a good vet/staff is a must. I had plans of buying the tick/heart wormer meds there and saw that I could also buy horse supply needs. That adds up with this many animals quickly. My weenie dog had suddenly become sick and Dr Voss diagnosed her as diabetic, I bought her special foods, insulin, supplies there and was told to bring her back in a month. After going to buy more food one day i was scheduling her the appointment she needed and was told I could bring her in on sat walk in clinic. I arrived at 830 to a very long line and waited a very long time to get checked in. At this time I asked for needles for the insulin I had bought the day before with no needles in the bag. Finally, (approx 2 1/2 hours) a tech came to get my dog for lab and said it would be 15 min for results, I assumed that we were waiting after that to see Dr Voss and continued waiting while the lines grew and the people that came in after me all went before me. When I could finally get to the woman at the desk I asked if they had forgotten us, she said my paperwork had been sitting there, that she saw me and assumed I was” just sitting there.” I let her know that if she had my paperwork why had no one let me know results or told me anything. I sat there with my uncomfortable pet for absolutely nothing. No one telling me anything for hours. I asked for needles again and I started to the car when the woman at the desk yelled “ma’am” I turned around and said “what?”, Dr Voss was standing there also and i realized she thought I was leaving without paying, I said, I’m taking my dog to the car and grabbing my wallet. When i returned and paid I let her know I wouldn’t sit in that clinic for as many hours as I had to walk out and not pay ( especially after spending the kind of money i already had spent there) she quickly said she wasn’t saying that and I shushed her and said yes you did. I never got to see the vet to voice concerns or ask questions about my dog, never got the needles, AGAIN. I have an appointment to have my cat fixed. I will go all the way back to Arkansas before I use this place again due to the staff. Dr Voss might be a good vet and he certainly is busy enough to not care about my business, but he lost it before it mattered. Oh, and by the way I have to put my dog down and I don’t think they will have to worry about my cat. Five horses, six dogs and a cat May not be anything to you Dr Voss, but they can bring in a lot of business and money. Isn’t that what you depend on to pay your bills? And maybe work on the efficiency and customer service of your staff.
