Our mischievous Maggie climbed up onto our dining room table in our absence and ate an entire 3.5 oz dark chocolate easter bunny! We took her to our vet, who induced vomiting but recommended that we take to to the Vet ER at Short Pump for evaluation, because her heart rate was 200. Dr. Conners and thd ER staff were awesome. They brought her heart rate down to normal with fluids. Dr. Conners did a terrific job explaining the plan of care, potential risks, time frame. Al of the staff were professional, kind. Fantastic facility. We are so grateful to the ER staff that her recovery was uneventful, and she was released to us around midnight. A great experience, given that we were incredibly stressed and afraid. Early intervention is key-don’t hesitate to seek ER care fkr your pets!

Apr 21, 2025 · Susan RebillotDr. Young and his team were excellent. Starting with meeting us at the door to rush my fur baby to the back for medical treatment to his overnight stay. They answered all of our concerns and gave us updates regularly. This is a beautiful facility that I highly recommend. It was a two hour drive for us and worth every penny. Thank you again for taking care of us.
May 05, 2025 · Dawn WalkerThe staff and sergeons were absolutely fantastic!! We came at 8am with our dachshund Sabol, who could not walk. Her hind legs were dragging. The diagnosis was made after an MRI and extensive blood work and x-rays, we made the decision to have surgery. Doctor Young and his staff were so patient with us. They explained everything and went out of their way to make sure we at ease the procedure. We came in at 8am, she had MRI at 11am and by 2:30 on our way home we received a call from the sergeon,(at 2:30) telling us that she out of surgery and awake We want to thank the whole staff, day and night that took care of our little girl. We would highly recommend BVNS!.!!!!
Apr 03, 2025 · Joan TalleyMy pup received an eye injury that required an opthalmology consult. Dr. Fuchs and the staff were excellent! They did a thorough exam with me in the room and fit her in for a procedure to remove a foreign object on the same day! The facilities are very clean and everyone who interacted with my pup was very friendly and calming. They sent us home with everything we needed. Ultimately the procedure also cost much less than the estimate as well.
Mar 26, 2025 · Darlene BrunzellI have never been so disappointed in a business and I am requesting for a refund. We took our dog to our regular vet in the morning on 3/14, they recommended we go to the ER, after he kept throwing up later on in the day and needed an ultrasound done. This place was on their referral list. My husband called VVC before we showed up there to make sure they do ultrasounds - they said they did. We got to VVC with our dog around 3:45pm on 3/14, they checked his vitals, & then we proceeded to wait until 10:30/11pm (after he threw up about 6 more times in the waiting area) to be taken back into another room. From there, they said the ultrasound tech wasn’t there anymore and advised an overnight stay plus an ultrasound that would cost close to 3k. My husband had to bring up to the doctor about the idea of checking his bloodwork first - they did that once HE brought it up, not them. We decided to not admit our dog overnight because we were hoping to find answers right then & there and it seems like this place only wants to charge you a ridiculous amount for the benefit on their pockets. By the time we left, it was 12:15AM. We called a 2nd ER to see if they could look at our dog. That 2nd ER was TRANSPARENT, which we so appreciated, and told us they were completely full & that their ultrasound tech was booked through the weekend. This saved us a lot of time so we went & monitored put dog closely throughout the night & called a 3rd ER (AMC) the next morning on 3/15. When we called the 3rd ER, they said they could see him immediately due to his symptoms (at this point our dog was throwing up blood - super terrifying). Once we got there, they took him back within us walking through the door. Our dog had emergency major surgery that needed to be done to save his life that morning we took him in. The price was also less than what VVC would have charged us - for just an overnight stay & ultrasound - no surgery included. I can’t even imagine what they charge for that. We are still disappointed in our experience at VVC, especially because we were not taken seriously, waited 8 hours, and still had to pay $451 while our dog was in serious pain. I am still waiting for an itemized copy to see what the heck else they charged us for since our dog only had bloodwork done there. The happy result of this review is that our experience led us to another place of business that operated much smoother & efficient & kept our dog alive. Picture of our dog safely back at home, after his emergency surgery at another Vet ER.
