Are they actually trained or wearing scrubs as a costume? The inability to properly restrain a small feline injured me and the employee, and put my cat in severe danger by being lost or harmed by dogs or let out the door and hit by a car or breaking his neck! He hanged as he fell off the table before he broke out of the slip knot. If these are trained vet techs they could handle a 1 yo cat. This is poor training or sloppy behavior. I didn't sign up to chase my cat after it HUNG ITSELF!! I took a small 1 yo feline for a booster shot. They put a harness slip knot around his neck. Upon attempting to inject the small cat flinched which a COMPETENT tech would handle but instead they let loose dropping the needle and the cat hung himself before running and hiding in the store. I was able to retrieve five isles over under the large rack shelving. The one employee just walked around saying can you open a can of catfood?" while I'm running thru the store yelling shut the doors and almost grasping the kitty as he runs past semi restrained obviously poorly trained dogs barking etc. They proceeded to use the syringe from the floor where animals shit. This is your business and you failed. If he had got out the door there would be an unsolvable problem instead of settlement. I have a deep cut in my hand and my new pants bloodstained. More importantly you failed basic restraint injuring one employee amd customer. Also my mental injury to be put into fight or flight is not for preventable nonsense. Same for my cat.

Welcome to VIP Petcare Vaccination Clinic
Welcome to the introduction of VIP Petcare Vaccination Clinic, a valuable resource for pet owners in Akron, Ohio, seeking convenient and affordable preventative veterinary care. Operating under the broader category of a Pet Hospital, VIP Petcare focuses primarily on vaccinations and essential wellness services to help keep your beloved companions healthy. Located at 790 Arlington Ridge, within the Pet Supplies Plus at that address, VIP Petcare offers a accessible solution for routine pet care needs in the local community.
Environment and Accessibility:
VIP Petcare Vaccination Clinics are typically situated within established pet supply retail environments, such as Pet Supplies Plus. This co-location model offers several advantages for pet owners. Firstly, it provides unparalleled convenience. You can often schedule your pet's vaccination appointment while also taking care of your pet supply shopping needs in the same trip. This saves valuable time and effort for busy pet owners. The clinic space itself is generally designed to be functional and efficient, focusing on creating a clean and organized environment conducive to administering vaccinations and performing basic wellness checks. While not a full-service veterinary hospital with extensive diagnostic and surgical capabilities, the environment is geared towards routine preventative care.
Services Offered:
As the name suggests, a core service offered by VIP Petcare Vaccination Clinic is the administration of essential vaccinations for dogs and cats. These vaccinations are crucial for protecting pets against a range of potentially serious and even fatal diseases. The specific vaccines offered typically align with the recommendations of veterinary professionals and local health guidelines. Common canine vaccinations may include those for rabies, distemper, parvovirus, adenovirus, and parainfluenza (often combined in a DHPP or DA2PP vaccine), as well as bordetella (kennel cough) and leptospirosis. For felines, core vaccinations usually include rabies, feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia (often combined in an FVRCP vaccine), as well as feline leukemia virus (FeLV) testing and vaccination where appropriate. It is important to consult with the clinic staff to determine the specific vaccination protocol recommended for your pet based on their age, lifestyle, and health history.
Beyond vaccinations, VIP Petcare often provides other preventative wellness services. These may include:
- Parasite Prevention: Offering and administering preventative medications for common external parasites like fleas and ticks, as well as internal parasites such as heartworms and intestinal worms.
- Microchipping: Providing microchip implantation services for permanent pet identification.
- Basic Wellness Exams: Conducting brief physical examinations to assess your pet's overall health prior to administering vaccinations.
- Fecal Testing: Offering fecal exams to screen for intestinal parasites.
- Limited Blood Tests: In some cases, basic blood tests may be available for screening purposes.
It's important to note that VIP Petcare Vaccination Clinics are generally not equipped to handle complex medical issues, emergencies, surgical procedures, or extensive diagnostic workups. For these types of services, a full-service veterinary hospital is necessary.
Features and Benefits:
Several features make VIP Petcare Vaccination Clinic an attractive option for certain pet owners:
- Convenience: As mentioned earlier, the location within retail pet stores offers significant convenience, allowing for combined shopping and vaccination appointments.
- Affordability: Often, vaccination clinics like VIP Petcare can offer competitive pricing for their core services compared to full-service veterinary hospitals. This can be a significant benefit for pet owners seeking cost-effective preventative care.
- Walk-in Appointments (Potentially): Depending on the specific clinic and time, walk-in appointments might be available for certain services, offering flexibility for pet owners with busy schedules. However, it's always advisable to check with the specific clinic regarding their appointment policies.
- Focus on Prevention: The clinic's primary focus on vaccinations and preventative care underscores the importance of proactive health management for pets.
Important Considerations and Online Feedback:
While VIP Petcare offers convenience and affordability, it's crucial for pet owners to also consider all aspects of their pet's care. Online reviews, such as the one provided, can offer valuable insights into the experiences of other customers. The review from February 22, 2025, at the Springfield Pet Supplies Plus location raises significant concerns regarding the handling and restraint of a feline patient during a vaccination. The reviewer describes a distressing incident where the cat allegedly became injured due to improper restraint, leading to a dangerous situation within the store and injuries to both the pet owner and an employee. The reviewer also expresses concerns about the use of a dropped syringe and criticizes the clinic's communication and handling of the situation.
This particular review highlights the importance of proper training, experience, and careful handling techniques when administering veterinary care, especially to potentially anxious or uncooperative animals. It also underscores the need for clear communication and appropriate protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of both pets and their owners during veterinary procedures.
Another aspect mentioned in a separate part of the provided feedback is the pricing, which is described as "VERY FAIR" for dogs. However, this comment also points out a potential issue with appointment scheduling, where simultaneous text messages to many customers could lead to overcrowding at the clinic. This suggests a need for efficient appointment management to ensure a smooth and less stressful experience for both pets and their owners.
Promotional Information (General):
While specific promotional offers for the Akron location are not provided in the given information, it is common for vaccination clinics to offer package deals on core vaccinations or discounts during certain times. Pet owners are encouraged to inquire directly with the VIP Petcare Vaccination Clinic in Akron at the provided phone number, (800) 427-7973 or +1 800-427-7973, about any current promotions or wellness plans they may offer. Conclusion for Local Users in Akron:

The co-location provides ease of access, allowing you to combine pet supply shopping with essential wellness appointments. Mar 04, 2025 路 Jeff WilliamsPretty easy to use and go through. Pricing is VERY FAIR for your dogs. Didn't like 馃がthe register early not and then they text EVERYONE at the same time to come in for appointments. Now you have aad rush of people and animals at the exact same time....could do it better by texting in 15/30 mins intervals 馃
Apr 03, 2025 路 Terrance HarrisI recently took my labradoodle puppy in after finding out she had an ear infection from the groomer. I contacted our regular vet who wouldn鈥檛 have been able to see her for another 5 days. I took her into VIP and it was such a great experience. Both of the techs were super friendly and explained everything very Thoroughly from the costs to the care she was going to receive. The veterinarian made sure she told me everything that she found as well. They all treated my dog as if she was one of their own. They were super friendly fly and extremely helpful!! I will definitely be back in the future for any non emergent visits that I need. The prices were super affordable and they had a lot of options.
