The vets and techs at Village Vet are always so kind. They treat all our animals like one of their own. We had to let go of one of our babies who was suffering with pancreatic cancer this week. They offered such kindness and dignity for us and our sweet fur baby. So grateful. We'll miss our sweet girl. So thankful she was surrounded by not only the people who love her the most but by caring and compassionate people who were so sweet to her all the way up to the end.

As a full-service "Pet Hospital," Village Veterinary Medical Center offers a broad spectrum of veterinary services for dogs and cats, covering everything from routine preventive care to advanced medical and surgical procedures. Their affiliation with Thrive Pet Healthcare suggests access to a wide network of specialists and cutting-edge resources.
-
Wellness and Preventive Care: This is a cornerstone of their practice, emphasizing regular nose-to-tail wellness exams, tailored vaccination schedules (including Rabies, DHPP for dogs, and FVRCP for cats, and potentially specialty vaccines like Rattlesnake, Lyme disease, and Canine influenza), and year-round parasite control for heartworms, fleas, and ticks.
-
Diagnostic Services: The clinic is equipped with advanced in-house diagnostic capabilities to quickly and accurately assess pet health. These include:
- In-house laboratory services for blood tests, urinalysis, and fecal exams.
- Digital radiology (X-rays) for detailed internal imaging.
- Ultrasound for advanced non-invasive imaging.
- Cytology for microscopic examination of cells.
-
Medical Treatment: They provide comprehensive medical care for a wide range of illnesses and conditions, focusing on early detection and effective treatment plans. This includes managing chronic conditions, addressing acute illnesses, and providing nutritional counseling.
-
Surgical Services: Village Veterinary Medical Center offers both routine and advanced surgical procedures. As an AAHA-accredited hospital, they maintain the highest standards for surgical care, utilizing sophisticated procedural and monitoring technology in their surgical suites to ensure patient safety. This covers everything from spaying and neutering to more complex soft tissue and orthopedic procedures.
-
Dental Care: Recognizing the critical link between oral health and overall well-being, they offer comprehensive dental services including exams, digital dental x-rays, and professional cleanings, along with extractions when necessary.
-
Canine Reproductive Services: A notable specialization mentioned in client reviews is their expertise in canine reproductive services, including progesterone timing for breeding, which led to a successful litter of puppies for one client who traveled a significant distance for their services.
-
Dermatology: They have the experience to diagnose and manage various skin diseases, working with veterinary dermatologists when specialized care is needed.
-

-

Several key features contribute to Village Veterinary Medical Center's reputation and its standing as a preferred "Pet Hospital" in the Knoxville area:
-
AAHA Accreditation: This is a significant distinction. -
Compassionate and Dedicated Team: Overwhelmingly, client reviews praise the veterinary and technical staff for their kindness, genuine care, and empathy. The consistent feedback regarding the staff treating pets "like one of their own" speaks volumes about their commitment to the human-animal bond.
-
Expertise in Specialized Areas: The highlighted success in canine reproductive services demonstrates a level of specialized knowledge and skill that goes beyond general practice.
-
Thrive Pet Healthcare Partnership: Being a Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner means Village Veterinary Medical Center benefits from a national network, providing access to advanced technology, continuous education, and shared best practices. This allows them to offer leading treatments while maintaining a local, community-focused feel.

Feb 21, 2025 · Marcie BakerI visited the Clinic in December of last year to utilize their Canine reproductive services. I had traveled from Wisconsin a 12 hour trip one way The veterinarian was kind, Informative and gave me a lot of information. I got to watch the procedure and in February had a litter of 7 Gordon Setter puppies. At 5yo and I had tried with her for two years for puppies so this was my last chance. I thank them for my Seven bundles of joy!
Feb 19, 2025 · Gail GoddingVillage veterinary medical center should be considered the model for best care! I can’t say enough good things about them. The staff is welcoming, kind, and truly care! You can tell everyone there loves what they do and it really shows in the level of care they provide. Dr. Sharbel is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and took the time to explain everything to us in detail. They loved on our fur baby as if he were their own. The facility is clean, well organized and has a calming atmosphere. I highly recommend this center to anyone looking for a compassionate and top notch veterinary care!
Mar 05, 2025 · Chris and Nancy LoftisWe've been using Village Vet for several years now. First for our sweet guinea pig and now for our cat. They have been so wonderful from the start. Helping us through our guinea pig going over the rainbow bridge to getting our rescued kitten healthy and strong. We have also boarded our cat with them twice now. That process is always smooth and easy. I have peace of mind knowing she's well cared for while we're out of town. Update: still LOVE this place. My kitty had her first yearly checkup (she's just over a year old) and they were so great with her, still. They are nice and gentle, but obviously get her checked out. Answered all my questions. I'm so glad I found this vet. First for my guinea pig and then for my cat when we adopted her. Update: June 2024: I can't say enough about this place! It speaks volumes when my cat is adventurous and curious when she's here for her check-up. She was rolling around on the floor, letting everyone pick her up and hold her. At just over 2 years old, I love this place for her. From regular check-ups to boarding. Another update: March 2025: still going strong! There are always many new faces when we board her here but they are still always great with her and end up loving Kawi! They are by no means the closest option for our family but with the care they provide I will continue to drive the extra distance for peace of mind.
Mar 24, 2025 · Amy MarshNo better place to take your pet. This is hands down the most incredible group of healthcare providers in local veterinary medicine. They helped us through the last days of my beloved Dobermans life and did so with empathy, sympathy, honesty, compassion and care that far exceeds that of other providers. Now, we have a new pup and without hesitation, continued our excellent relationship with these lovely folks and now, my new boy gets to experience the love and care provided by the most passionate vet I’ve ever met, Dr. Sharbel. We absolutely LOVE Dr. Sharbel!!! There is no one I’d rather have taking care of my Pointer. If you are looking for a new vet, I highly recommend this amazing collective of professionals. You will thank yourself for choosing them.
