Dr Kerry Murphy saved our dog Fergus. Fergus was lethargic and running a fever of 105.6. She treated him for what appears to be a tick borne illness that wiped out his immune system. Dr. Lucy Tidd saw him over the weekend and then Dr Murphy saw him again on Monday. Fergus is doing much better a couple of days later. Thanks to everybody at Village Vet for the quick thinking and right on it care.

The available customer reviews paint a vivid picture of the dedicated and effective care provided at Village Vet of Urbana. One particularly compelling account details how Dr. Kerry Murphy is credited with saving a dog named Fergus. When Fergus presented with lethargy and a dangerously high fever of 105.6 degrees Fahrenheit, Dr. Murphy swiftly diagnosed and treated what appeared to be a tick-borne illness that had severely impacted his immune system. The review also mentions Dr. Lucy Tidd's involvement over the weekend, followed by Dr. Murphy's continued care on Monday. Just a couple of days later, Fergus was showing significant improvement. The owner expresses immense gratitude to the entire team at Village Vet for their "quick thinking and right on it care," underscoring their ability to act decisively and effectively in critical situations.

Another enthusiastic review highlights the "wonderful experiences" of a puppy owner with Village Vet. They describe the staff as "super patient and sweet and loving" with their corgi puppy. The clinic is praised for its proactive approach in making life easier for pet owners, offering valuable information and ensuring that appointments are not rushed. Notably, the clinic has been consistently punctual for appointments and sends timely reminder texts for booster vaccinations. The convenience of being able to text back to schedule appointments is also highly appreciated by this busy pet owner.

A third review emphasizes the clinic's exceptional responsiveness, particularly in contrast to other local veterinary practices. The reviewer had difficulty even getting through to two other recommended vets, and both had lengthy waiting times for new puppy appointments. Village Vet, however, answered the call promptly, understood the urgency of vaccinations and roundworm medication for a new puppy, and scheduled an appointment immediately. The responsiveness extended beyond the initial booking. When the owner called later that night concerned about the puppy's crying after vaccinations, they received reassuring advice that it was likely a reaction to the vaccines and the puppy would be fine the next day – a prediction that proved accurate. The reviewer was particularly appreciative of the clinic's follow-up; the vet even called back, knowing it was their first dog, to reiterate that the puppy's symptoms were normal. This proactive communication demonstrates a high level of care and attention to new pet owners.

Adding another layer of positive feedback, one reviewer recounts an unexpected but highly appreciated Black Friday email from Village Vet, offering significant discounts on essential pet medications (heartworm, flea, and tick) as well as puppy food. This thoughtful gesture resulted in a substantial saving for the pet owner, further enhancing their positive experience with the clinic. This review, coupled with the others, reinforces the perception of Village Vet as a caring and considerate practice.

Based on these consistent positive reports, the environment at Village Vet of Urbana appears to be welcoming, efficient, and focused on both the pet's well-being and the owner's convenience. The clinic is likely well-organized to handle appointments promptly and to facilitate clear communication between staff and pet owners. The emphasis on patience and providing thorough information suggests a comfortable and unhurried atmosphere during consultations. The ability to communicate via text for appointments indicates a modern and accessible approach to client interaction.

The services offered at Village Vet of Urbana are clearly highlighted in the customer reviews. They provide diagnostic services, as evidenced by the swift diagnosis and treatment of Fergus's tick-borne illness. They offer preventative care, including vaccinations and parasite control. Puppy care, with a focus on patience and providing comprehensive information to new owners, is a significant aspect of their services. The mention of dental care being a standard offering in many veterinary practices suggests that Village Vet likely provides this service as well. Their ability to handle urgent cases effectively demonstrates their capacity for timely and potentially life-saving interventions. The provision of medications and even pet food, sometimes with unexpected discounts, indicates a comprehensive approach to pet health and owner support.

The convenience of modern communication methods like text messaging for appointments caters to the busy lifestyles of pet owners. Finally, their occasional unexpected cost-saving offers, such as the Black Friday discounts, demonstrate a caring and community-minded approach.

The Black Friday email offering significant discounts on heartworm, flea, and tick medications, as well as puppy food, serves as a clear example of promotional activity from Village Vet of Urbana. This unexpected saving of almost $70 for one pet owner highlights their willingness to provide value beyond standard veterinary services. We've had wonderful experiences with them with our puppy so far!! Super patient and sweet and loving with our corgi. Quick to do anything they can to make life easier for us. Full of great information and they don't rush me out of appointments. They have been on time, every time, and they send me reminder texts when we need to come back for boosters. I can even text back to make the appointment, which is super convenient for when I'm working. I had a short list of recommended vets from my friends and I had an extremely difficult time even getting two other vets on the phone (and both couldn't see a new puppy for many weeks!) I then tried Village Vet. They answered my call, understood that the vaccines and roundworm meds were time sensitive for our new puppy, and got me in for an appointment right away. When I called later that night about his crying, they reassured me he probably felt bad after his vaccines and he'd be okay the next day. Sure enough, he woke up chipper and with the zoomies. I was so appreciative of their responsiveness to my call! They even doubled check with the vet, who called me back knowing it was our first dog, to let me know that Momo would be fine and vaccines can make them feel pretty rotten for a day. In November they sent a Black Friday email out that got me huge discounts on heart worm, flea and tick meds as well as his puppy food. Totally unexpected but very appreciated! Saved me almost $70 in one stop. This is our first dog and we have loved the care at Village Vet.

Dr. Miller is absolutely wonderful! The techs are fantastic! My senior cat isn’t the happiest to be around when it’s time to get blood drawn and she lets them know how she feels about it but they are always pleasant and caring. Communication is great! Thanks Village Vet for taking such good care of Allie!

Wonderful experience today at Village Vet of Urbana. Friendly, knowledgeable, and caring staff. The clinic is immaculate and inviting. I came for an emergency visit this morning and the staff took their time evaluating my dog and went above and beyond to take care of us today. Highly recommend.

Being a first time dog owner with no clues whatsoever, I was very happy that I chose to enroll their puppy wellness and neuter plans. I paid $ monthly and they remind me when to bring my puppy in for check-up and what tests are needed to be done, and when to give the preventative flea and worm treatments. I like that they are always very flexible with time. Everyone I have come across has been absolutely wonderful. My 6 months old Corgi just got neutered this past weekend. The incision is minimum. He stayed overnight and I picked him up the following morning. He was back to himself like nothing happened. I can only say - WOW! Great job, ladies. I am really happy with the services I was provided. My dog approves too. Two thumbs up! I highly recommend their service.
