I used to love coming to this office. The doctors for the most part were very helpful. However front desk..however one of the doctor's gave me an emergency visit because my cat was REALLY sick. On my way to the office there was an accident. Once I got out of the traffic I called because I was already 7 mins late and still had 6 mins to get there. The front desk Christina is REALLY RUDE. She was already telling me before speaking with the doctor even after I said there was an accident. Supposedly asked the doctor and was told I had to reschedule. Now I don't live in the area. I had to take time off so I can go because initially my appointment was for Friday not Monday but again the doctor allowed me a walk in. I would Never recommend this office to any of my family or friends. To turn away a sick cat because I can't control what happens on the road is unfathomable.

Village Animal Hospital Introduce

Welcome to Village Animal Hospital, located at 6 Weaver St in Larchmont, NY 10538. You can contact them at (914) 833-3600 or +1 914-833-3600 for your pet care needs. Based on the available customer reviews, experiences at Village Animal Hospital appear to be somewhat varied.

One reviewer had a negative experience regarding the front desk staff, specifically mentioning rudeness and a lack of flexibility in a situation involving a very sick cat and a traffic delay. This customer, who does not live locally and had taken time off work for the appointment, was ultimately turned away and advised to reschedule, leading to a strong recommendation against the clinic.

In contrast, another reviewer had an overwhelmingly positive experience during a difficult time. They described the staff as "amazing," "kind," and "compassionate," emphasizing that they were treated like family while grieving the loss of their pet. This reviewer expressed a strong intention to continue recommending Village Animal Hospital to others, highlighting the genuine care and support they received.

Based on these reviews, it's evident that Village Animal Hospital has staff members who are deeply compassionate and provide excellent support to pet owners, especially during sensitive times. The doctors are also mentioned positively in one review for being helpful. However, there seems to be an inconsistency in the customer service experience, particularly concerning the front desk's handling of unforeseen delays and emergencies.

The reviews do not provide specific details about the clinic's environment or a comprehensive list of all services offered beyond general veterinary care and end-of-life support. No promotional information is mentioned in the provided text. Local users considering Village Animal Hospital may want to weigh the positive feedback regarding the caring staff against the reported issues with front desk service and consider contacting the clinic directly to inquire about their environment, full range of services, and policies regarding appointment delays and emergencies.

I have been bringing my daughter Bali here since the first day I got her. Had a little scare over the weekend my schedule is insane but luckily I was accommodated without any issue ASAP. Was extremely grateful and blessed. I was able to see the doctor without any issues. Everybody here is genuinely caring, assertive and professional. I couldn't be more happier they make me and my dog feel safe knowing that we're in the best of care ever ❤️

We’ve been taking our dog here since we first got her 4 years ago. Up until this past visit, we had nothing but good things to say. This time was different. Our dog was vomiting for a full day, so we brought her in the next morning and an xray was done. I was questioned multiple times if my dog eats squeaker toys to which I said no, but they (2 different doctors there) insisted there was one in her stomach. They told me feed her chicken and rice for the day and do a 12 hour fast and come back the next day for another xray on an empty stomach to see if it was definitely that or not. I was satisfied w the suggestion and did exactly that. The next day I came back for her second xray and a different doctor was there. This doctor swore up and down she had a squeaker toy in her stomach as well. This vet told us she needed emergency surgery and told us to go to a vet hospital that didn’t have a scope or ultrasound technology to really check, just ready to throw her into a dangerous surgery into her abdomen. We asked if money wasn’t an issue, would she still suggest this location? We just wanted to know if this was a hospital to be trusted or if it was just the least expensive option. She still said yes and later said she does surgery there herself sometimes. I ended up asking for the xray to be sent to 3 different hospitals as well as emailed to me because I wanted my husband to discuss it with me before making a decision. Me and my husband decided to play it safe and go up to Cornell Veterinary Hospital in Stamford because they could do an ultrasound on her. Turns out there was no squeaker toy in her or anything else. I asked the doctor there what she thought of the X-rays, because I myself thought they weren’t good X-rays and personally couldn’t see any signs of a squeaker. I’m no doctor, but wanted their opinion. They saw absolutely nothing via the xray. They did an ultrasound and kept her for a few hours. It turned out to be simply a virus. Village never called us to check up on her to see how she was doing or anything. We are so shocked and disappointed in this animal hospital we are besides ourselves.

Dr. Gallo has been my pups vet since his second visit after his adoption, and it’s always a great experience. The techs are super helpful, especially Lysette (my pup’s favorite!). I ask a ton of questions because my pup has a traumatic rescue and first few years of life, and I’ve never had an issue with them being answered. Highly recommend.
