We chose Veterinary Wellness for their late evening appts. They were generally adequate but the most expensive vet we had ever gone to. When my 6 yo dog got pneumonia and the female vet was sooo rude. ( It’s a very long story, but we ended up at VEG- the emergency center in coolsprings where our dog was euthanized. ). At SPW, the female vet was just plain hateful, unprofessional, and refused to explain anything about his condition because she was working evening shift and “hadn’t been with our dog all day.” She was highly dismissive with absolutely no empathy for us or our dog. The vet techs tend to act like they care, but not that vet!! We won’t go back there, and advise othered to avoid it. I am a nurse and know the difficulties that come with healthcare. Putting forward professional and empathetic behavior is just the minimum healthcare workers should give to their patients. If you hate your own life or job, you still have to show you care —- that’s your job! It’s common customer service to greet people with a smile, and take the time and energy to partner in the health journey from birth to death with the pet and owners. If y’all can’t do the bare minimum, then please dont make others scared and miserable, maybe it’s time to make some changes!

Welcome to Veterinary Wellness Clinic of Spring Hill

For pet owners in Spring Hill, Tennessee, finding a reliable and comprehensive veterinary care provider is a critical decision. Veterinary Wellness Clinic of Spring Hill, located at 4926 Port Royal Rd Suite B, Spring Hill, TN 37174, USA, serves as a local "Pet Hospital" dedicated to the health and well-being of companion animals. They can be reached by phone at (615) 730-3046 or via mobile at +1 615-730-3046, providing a direct line for inquiries and appointment scheduling.

Environment and Atmosphere

The environment and atmosphere at Veterinary Wellness Clinic of Spring Hill, like any veterinary practice, aim to cater to the comfort and safety of both pets and their owners. While specific details on the clinic's decor or layout are not extensively provided, as a modern pet hospital, it would be expected to feature clean, well-lit examination rooms, a functional waiting area, and spaces adequately equipped for various medical procedures. The clinic's location on Port Royal Road suggests a potentially accessible spot within Spring Hill, catering to local residents. However, customer experiences regarding the "atmosphere" can be quite varied, as highlighted by reviews. Some clients perceive a supportive and caring environment, while others have reported experiences lacking in empathy, particularly from specific individuals within the staff. This suggests that while the physical environment may meet professional standards, the human element of care delivery can significantly shape the perceived atmosphere.

Comprehensive Services

Veterinary Wellness Clinic of Spring Hill offers a wide range of services designed to meet the diverse needs of pets. These services are typical of a full-service pet hospital and aim to cover a pet's health journey from puppyhood to senior years:

  • Wellness and Preventive Care: This forms the cornerstone of their offerings. It includes comprehensive annual wellness exams, tailored vaccination schedules (e.g., rabies, DAPP for dogs; rabies, FVRCP for cats, with optional non-core vaccines like leptospirosis or feline leukemia based on risk), and robust parasite prevention and control programs (fleas, ticks, heartworms, intestinal worms). They emphasize early detection through regular check-ups to maintain overall well-being and catch potential issues before they escalate.

  • Puppy and Kitten Care: Specialized care for young pets, focusing on initial exams, vaccination schedules, nutritional advice, parasite prevention, and discussions about spaying/neutering and microchipping.

  • Senior Pet Care: Recognizing the evolving needs of older animals, the clinic provides more frequent wellness exams for pets over the age of 7, offering dietary adjustments, exercise modifications, and other interventions suitable for aging pets.

  • Diagnostic Services: To accurately diagnose conditions, they offer medical imaging including radiographs (X-rays) and ultrasound, which are non-invasive methods to evaluate organs and bones. They also perform various wellness testing including fecal exams, bloodwork (checking for heartworm disease, blood cell counts, organ function, infectious diseases), and urinalysis, often conducted on the same day as the appointment for quick results.

  • Dental Care: Comprehensive dental services include addressing issues like tartar buildup, swollen gums, bad breath, and changes in eating habits. This typically involves professional dental cleanings and potentially extractions.

  • Surgical Services: Veterinary Wellness Clinic of Spring Hill offers a range of basic surgical services, from routine procedures like spays and neuters to more complex soft tissue and orthopedic procedures. They likely prioritize patient safety and comfort during these interventions.

  • Bathing and Basic Grooming: Beyond medical care, they provide bathing services for dogs, including medicated baths, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and anal gland expressions, offering convenience for pet owners.

  • Boarding: For pet owners traveling, the clinic offers boarding services, providing a safe and supervised environment for pets, ensuring their normal routine is maintained to reduce stress.

  • Nutrition Counseling: They offer individualized nutrition counseling based on a pet's body condition, providing recommendations on proper serving size, nutrient needs, and feeding strategies.

Features and Customer Experience

The features of Veterinary Wellness Clinic of Spring Hill, as revealed through customer testimonials, present a mixed picture. A significant positive feature for some clients is their availability of late evening appointments, which offers considerable convenience for busy pet owners. Many long-term clients express strong positive sentiment, describing the staff as "so helpful & always the sweetest to our fur babies," indicating a consistent positive experience for routine care and a strong bond with their pets. This suggests that for many, the clinic fulfills its role as a caring and supportive veterinary partner.

However, a critical review highlights a severe negative experience, particularly concerning a specific "female vet" during a serious case of pneumonia in a 6-year-old dog. This review describes the vet as "hateful, unprofessional, and refused to explain anything about his condition," demonstrating a severe lack of empathy and communication in a critical situation. The reviewer, being a nurse, emphasizes the minimum standard of professional and empathetic behavior expected in healthcare. This feedback, while representing a single incident, raises concerns about consistency in compassionate care across all staff members, especially during high-stress situations like severe illness or end-of-life care. It also indirectly suggests that for complex or rapidly deteriorating conditions, the clinic might have limitations in providing the necessary in-depth explanation or prolonged specialized care, necessitating referral to emergency centers like VEG (Veterinary Emergency Group), as happened in the reviewed case. This critical review points to a need for consistent, high-quality client communication and empathy, particularly when dealing with serious medical conditions.

Promotional Information

Specific, real-time promotional information for Veterinary Wellness Clinic of Spring Hill is best confirmed by contacting them directly. However, based on common practices in the "Pet Hospital" category and online presence of similar clinics, they may offer various promotions, such as:

  • New Client Promotions: Many veterinary clinics offer incentives for new clients, such as a discount on the first wellness exam fee. For example, some clinics offer a free first wellness exam for new clients, though terms and conditions often apply (e.g., only covering the exam fee, not additional services or medications).

  • Preventative Care Bundles: Discounts on essential year-round preventative medications for fleas, ticks, and heartworm, or comprehensive wellness plans that bundle exams, vaccinations, and basic diagnostics.

  • Online Pharmacy Discounts: If they operate an online pharmacy (like the Covetrus Pharmacy mentioned in some search results, which is a common platform used by vet clinics), they might offer auto-ship discounts or special promotions on pet food and medications purchased through their online portal.

  • Seasonal Specials: Promotions tied to specific times of the year, such as dental health month or during peak seasons for certain parasites.

Prospective clients are strongly advised to call Veterinary Wellness Clinic of Spring Hill at (615) 730-3046 to inquire about any current promotions, service details, and to discuss their specific pet's needs. Their typical operating hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM, with Sundays closed. These hours offer flexibility for scheduling appointments.

In conclusion, Veterinary Wellness Clinic of Spring Hill in Spring Hill, TN, functions as a comprehensive "Pet Hospital" providing a full range of veterinary services, from routine wellness and vaccinations to advanced diagnostics, surgery, boarding, and bathing. While they offer convenient late evening appointments and are highly valued by many long-term clients for their "sweet" and helpful approach, feedback also indicates a need for consistent empathy and professional communication across all staff, particularly during challenging and sensitive medical situations. For pet owners in the area, contacting the clinic directly to discuss their specific needs and the clinic's approach to care is recommended to ensure alignment with their expectations for their beloved companions.

Greedy, not professional. A tech fee of $15, the tech is your employee...YOU pay the tech! The dr takes my pet in the back for a $55 wellness exam, I guess the doctor does not know what they are doing so they want to hide it. I went in for a consult for teeth cleaning...why do I have to be required for a wellness exam? Very unprofessional and no one smiles. Do not bring your pet here. I didn't even see any credentials on the wall, I have grave concerns if they are even qualified vetinarians!

We love the staff at Vet Wellness. We’ve been clients here with our Italian greyhounds for five years now. They’re reasonably priced and knowledgeable.

This office does an amazing job. From the moment you walk thru the door they greet you and your animal (mine being a dog). I am a RN so tend to be pretty picky when it comes to my animals health also. They have a great bedside manner. Office staff are very polite, professional, and efficient. And prices seem to be comparable to other veterinary clinics in town.
