I want to give a huge thank you to this place. I was about to loose what marbles I had left when my baby girl River was bit by a copperhead. And they were OPEN at such a ungodly hour. I drove over a hour and a half to be seen. The reassurance that she was gonna be okay, care and curiosity that we got was amazing! I can't thank them enough!

Welcome to Veterinary Referral & Critical: Grant Carron E DVM

Welcome to an in-depth look at Veterinary Referral & Critical Care: Grant Carron E DVM, a pet hospital situated at 1596 Hockett Rd, Manakin-Sabot, VA 23103, USA. Operating firmly within the "Pet Hospital" category, this establishment appears to be a crucial resource for pet owners, particularly those facing emergencies or requiring specialized surgical care. While detailed information about the hospital's complete environment isn't available, the provided customer reviews offer valuable insights into their services, features, and overall approach to veterinary medicine.

As a Pet Hospital, Veterinary Referral & Critical Care: Grant Carron E DVM likely provides a spectrum of services essential for maintaining the health and well-being of pets. Typically, such facilities offer routine wellness exams, vaccinations, diagnostics (including laboratory work and imaging), dental care, and various surgical procedures. Given the name, a strong emphasis on "Referral & Critical Care" suggests a specialization in handling complex cases referred by primary veterinarians and managing acute, life-threatening conditions. This implies the presence of advanced medical equipment and a team experienced in critical care protocols.

One of the standout features highlighted in the customer reviews is their accessibility during critical times. One reviewer expressed immense gratitude for the fact that the hospital was "OPEN at such a ungodly hour" when their pet was bitten by a copperhead. This immediately positions Veterinary Referral & Critical Care: Grant Carron E DVM as a vital resource for emergency veterinary services in their locality. The willingness to be open and available outside of typical business hours demonstrates a commitment to the immediate needs of pets facing urgent medical situations. This is a significant advantage for pet owners who may encounter emergencies outside of regular clinic hours.

Furthermore, the reviewer who traveled over an hour and a half to reach them praised the "reassurance that she was gonna be okay, care and curiosity that we got." This speaks volumes about the compassionate and attentive nature of the staff. The term "curiosity" might suggest a thorough and inquisitive approach to diagnosis and treatment, ensuring that all aspects of the pet's condition are carefully considered. This level of care and reassurance is invaluable to pet owners during stressful emergency situations.

Another customer review specifically commends "Doctor Tim" for performing a "wonderful surgery" on their lab's knee. This explicitly indicates that surgical services, including potentially orthopedic procedures, are within their capabilities. The positive outcome of the surgery suggests a high level of surgical skill and expertise within the veterinary team. This is an important aspect for a pet hospital, as many health issues require surgical intervention.

However, the second reviewer also mentioned a point of dissatisfaction: the inability for pet owners to go into the office area or the exam room with their pet, citing ongoing "covid paranoia." While this might be a current policy influencing the environment and interaction process, it's an important piece of feedback to note. It suggests that while the medical care itself is highly regarded, the client experience regarding direct interaction during examinations might be different from what some pet owners prefer. This policy doesn't detract from the quality of medical care but is a factor in the overall experience.

  • Emergency Medicine: Immediate care for accidents, sudden illnesses, and other urgent medical needs.

The veterinarian I had was excellent Doctor Tim he did a wonderful surgery on my lab's knee. The only thing I hated is that you can't go into office area or go into the exam room with your pet...they are still covid paranoid.
