Welcome to Veterinary Ophthalmology Services
For pet owners in the Las Vegas area seeking specialized care for their animal companions' eyes, Veterinary Ophthalmology Services offers a dedicated Pet Hospital focused on ocular health. Located at 1914 E Sahara Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89104, USA, they can be reached at (702) 457-6523 or their mobile number +1 702-457-6523. This clinic specializes in addressing a wide range of eye-related issues in pets, ensuring that your furry friends receive the focused attention their vision requires.
Based on the limited online reviews, there appear to be contrasting experiences with Veterinary Ophthalmology Services. One potential client reported a negative initial interaction when attempting to schedule an appointment for a puppy with a stitched eye. This individual described the staff member who answered the phone as rude and unconcerned about the urgent nature of the situation. The quoted initial examination fee was $350, and the potential client was reportedly given a date and time without being asked for essential information such as email, phone number, or surgery records, which raised concerns about the clinic's intake procedures. This negative experience led the reviewer to decide against visiting the clinic, emphasizing the importance of compassionate and attentive customer service, especially when dealing with a pet's health issues.
Conversely, another customer shared a highly positive experience, highlighting the professionalism and expertise of "Dr. Mike" and "Jean." This reviewer noted that Veterinary Ophthalmology Services was not only less expensive than two other recommended options but also offered a significantly sooner appointment. They specifically praised the clinic's conservative approach in treating their dog's eye gland cancer. Furthermore, they emphasized the clinic's long-standing presence at the same location for over 35 years, suggesting a wealth of experience and established trust within the community. This positive feedback strongly recommends Veterinary Ophthalmology Services for those seeking knowledgeable and potentially more affordable specialized eye care for their pets.
Considering the available information, Veterinary Ophthalmology Services appears to be a clinic with a long history in the Las Vegas area, specializing in the delicate field of veterinary ophthalmology. The positive review suggests a team, including Dr. Mike and Jean, that is experienced in diagnosing and treating various eye conditions in animals, potentially including complex cases like eye gland cancer. The mention of a "conservative approach" indicates a thoughtful and potentially less invasive treatment philosophy, which may be appealing to pet owners concerned about aggressive interventions.
The significant price difference reported by the satisfied customer compared to other options suggests that Veterinary Ophthalmology Services may offer competitive pricing for specialized eye care. This could be a crucial factor for pet owners facing potentially costly treatments for their pets' vision problems. The ability to secure an appointment sooner than other clinics could also be a significant advantage, particularly in urgent situations.
However, the negative review regarding the initial phone interaction raises concerns about the clinic's customer service and administrative processes. The perceived lack of empathy and the omission of standard information gathering during appointment scheduling could be off-putting for concerned pet owners. It is important to note that this feedback is based on a single interaction and may not reflect the overall quality of care provided by the veterinary professionals at the clinic.
Given the limited information available, it is challenging to provide a comprehensive overview of the clinic's environment, the full range of services offered, or any specific promotional information. The positive review focuses on the expertise and cost-effectiveness for a specific medical condition, while the negative review centers on the initial customer service experience. Therefore, prospective clients may need to contact the clinic directly to inquire about their facilities, the specific ophthalmological services they provide (such as routine eye exams, surgical procedures, treatment for specific eye diseases, etc.), their appointment protocols, and any current promotions or payment options.
In conclusion, Veterinary Ophthalmology Services in Las Vegas offers specialized eye care for pets and boasts a long-standing presence in the community, with at least one positive review highlighting experienced professionals and potentially more affordable pricing. However, a reported negative initial customer service experience suggests a potential area for improvement in their administrative processes. Pet owners seeking specialized veterinary ophthalmology services in Las Vegas may want to consider this clinic, particularly given the positive feedback regarding the medical expertise and cost-effectiveness, but should be prepared to potentially navigate administrative interactions. Further investigation by directly contacting the clinic may be necessary to form a complete picture of their environment, full service offerings, and current practices.

Dec 13, 2024 · areej gadriDr. Mike and Jean were both terrific. This place was less expensive than the other two options that were recommended to us plus they were able to get us in so much sooner. They took a conservative approach with our dog who had cancer in his eye gland. They’ve been at the same location for over 35 years. They know what they’re doing. I highly recommend them!
Oct 15, 2024 · Leslie CarverThank you for saving my baby girls eye! My dog just got her stitches out today after having a keratectomy surgery on her eye. Dr.Brinkman and Jean have been so wonderful through this whole process. I was so stressed going to numerous appointments at her other vet for over a month, dealing with her indolent cornea ulcer. Dr.Brinkman got her in fast and here we are now two weeks after surgery. My dogs eye is healing and the color is coming back already. Shes in great spirits, no more pain. So grateful!
Jun 10, 2023 · Brianna DenizMike and Jean were amazing. These guys are old-school, took several hours to help me out with our dog, and really know what they’re talking about. I can’t recommend them enough. They put us in the next day and we traveled seven hours round-trip from Utah. They took the time to explain exactly what was going on and what we could expect.
May 30, 2024 · Andrew GreenCompletely ruined my dog's eyelid, and charged me for the first return visit. Now we're going to a real veterinarian and will be revisiting this soon. If you love your dog, please take it somewhere else. Update: Arc animal clinic fixed my dogs eye. Again, if you love your animal take it somewhere besides here.
