I've taken my cats and dogs here since moving to the area. They are great and always caring about making my pets comfortable. They definitely put the needs of the animal as first priority. For example, I have a senior cat who was going through chemo, and the vet told me on phone she wouldn't recommend stressing her out with an examination or vaccines at that time. She asked me some questions as to how my cat was doing and said she thought she would be fine holding off. She could have said they wanted to see her for a physical exam and told me then to hold off on the vaccines while she was in chemo. Many other vets would want to get you in their office to charge for a visit before giving you any advice. The vet is also very clear about what is recommended and what is necessary vaccinations for my cats and dogs. She gives me the information and answers all questions allowing me to make an informed decision as to what is best for my pets given their age, temperament, and whether they are indoor only (in the case of cats).

Vaccinations: Essential for protecting pets against common and dangerous diseases, the hospital provides individualized vaccination protocols. Client Education: A strong emphasis is placed on educating pet owners. As one reviewer noted, the vet "gives me the information and answers all questions allowing me to make an informed decision." This empowers pet parents to be active participants in their pet's healthcare journey.

This demonstrates a deep ethical commitment and a willingness to prioritize the pet's comfort and health over generating revenue from a visit. This level of ethical practice and empathetic understanding sets them apart.
Another key feature is the staff's clarity and dedication to client education. Feb 26, 2025 · Max HThis practice is the very best! We’re new to the area, and we feel so fortunate to have found Dr. Thomas and her wonderful staff. Everyone is great here, and they treat our difficult little dog with patience and kindness! The practice is everything you would hope for in a veterinary office.
Apr 04, 2025 · Julia BucciThank you for taking such good care of our dogs these last few years. Everyone we encounter at your office is very knowledgeable and helpful. And most recently, when we had to say goodbye to Molly, thank you for your compassion and kindness. It is such a sad, difficult thing to go through and we appreciate your support.
Jan 30, 2025 · Eileen KellyThe Charlie's Angels of the pet care world! VHC has been taking of Grotonwood's Camp Mascot since his arrival in 2019 and they are always thorough, efficient and go above and beyond like it was their own animal. Thank you team.
Apr 01, 2025 · Grotonwood CampWe couldn’t ask for a better veterinary team. Our little girl, Olive (cat/velociraptor) had lots of health issues that brought her in many times, and she is so badly behaved when she goes, it’s amazing they’ll still see her. Dr. Thomas set her up on a very thorough regimen for her care and I’m certain if it were not for Dr. Thomas and all of her team over the last year, we might have lost her a long time ago instead of having such a robust and energetic girl. Many thanks to all of you. We could not ask for better care for our animals and will continue to enthusiastically recommend all of you to anyone and everyone in need of thorough, knowledgeable, caring veterinary services.
