The customer reviews for Veterinary Emergency Group highlight several key aspects of their service, particularly their promptness, transparency, and the compassionate care provided by their team. One reviewer recounts being seen "right away" and notes that "the entire team answered all of my questions without hesitation." This immediate attention is paramount in emergency situations. The reviewer also appreciated the "open concept layout," which made them feel included in everything happening, contributing to a sense of transparency and comfort. Notably, their dog, who is typically anxious at vet visits, was remarkably calm at VEG, which the reviewer attributes to the environment and care provided. The receptionists are also commended for being "incredibly helpful and kind."
Another detailed review contrasts VEG with another pet hospital where the customer's cat, Cheerio, with a swallowed elastic string, was kept waiting for nine hours without intervention. Upon being referred to VEG, they were advised to bring Cheerio in at 5 am and were promptly seen for an X-ray. Due to the cat having eaten overnight, the endoscopy was delayed for digestion, but crucially, the owners were allowed to stay with Cheerio throughout the waiting time, even while the cat had an IV. They were able to witness the endoscopy where the string was successfully removed. The reviewer expresses immense relief and regrets not knowing about VEG sooner, emphasizing the caring doctors and staff who meticulously explained each step of Cheerio's care. This experience underscores VEG's efficiency in handling emergencies, their commitment to keeping pet owners informed, and their compassionate approach to both the animal and the owner.

May 07, 2025 · Kayla CooperIt's just an amazing Vet hospital! Can't say enough about the caring Dr's and staff! Each member that tended my daughter's cat, Cheerio, explained in detail the what and why's for each step. We spent 9 hours the day before at another pet hospital trying to get help for Cheerio, but he kept getting pushed back. All alone, terrified, in the back for 9 hours. He swallowed an elastic string, wouldn't throw up and we knew he would need an endoscopy or surgery. After 9 hours of nothing, we decided to take him home for the night. We were referred to Veg, so gave then a call. They said to bring him in at 5am, so we did. He got right in for an x-ray. Since he got into the cat food over night, they had to wait for it to digest more before attempting the endoscopy. We were able to stay with him the entire waiting time (petting and keeping calm), even when he had the IV in. We watched as they did the endoscopy and pulled the string out! What a relief! I wish we would have known about Veg before that other hospital.
May 05, 2025 · Brian D TiceMy cat seriously injured herself (degloved her tail) and I called a bunch of emergency vets near me that either had questionable reviews or were at capacity. Her condition was urgent but she was alert and active, so I did my research and wound up driving to VEG from Pasadena…. And am I glad I did! VEG is clean and well-lit with ample parking. The facility is outfitted for comprehensive care. Everyone I talked to was professional and kind. Triage took a while but I was well warned they were tending to more urgent cases that night. Prices are high as expected, but the vets are reasonable and will work to fit care within your budget. Dr. Lin was very considerate. I appreciated the little gestures—comfy seating, snacks, staff looking out for pets and their humans…. Discharge instructions were clear. Records transferred easily when requested. I’m happy I trusted VEG and I hope every pet owner has as positive an experience in their pet’s time of need. A huge thank you to the staff for taking good care of Charlie and her frantic human!
Dec 21, 2024 · Ying LiangVEG was a godsend. They took care of our 12 year old girl when she was vomiting blood. We were able to stay with her the entire time, our usual anxious dog was SO calm, there is no “back room”, all the procedures are done in one communal area which keeps both patients and owners calm. We feel very grateful for all the staff here. It was the best experience I’ve ever had at an ER. Remember to expect ER prices - we paid about $3k for everything (including the overnight stay). But this is standard, anywhere you go. And here, you’re getting the best of the best. So it’s worth it. Thank you VEG! Highly highly highly recommend 10000%.
Dec 17, 2024 · Ora KohanThis was the best experience in a stressful situation. The staff is so kind and helpful. I was so impressed with EVERYONE. I literally wanted to hug everyone on the way out the door. Beyond the great staff and doctors, the set up and layout is fantastic. I’ve told so many friends about this experience I felt I needed to share to everyone else. LOVE this place. True LA testament… I live in the valley and I will always (hopefully not frequently) come here if my pet has an emergency
