Took my dog Cleopatra here and it was an amazing experience! She had a deep cut on her paw and they quickly welcomed us with our own couch to wait with our pup until they were able to see us, and wrapped up her paw in the meantime to stop the bleeding. They offered us snacks, drinks, and fresh baked cookies! They took such good care of her, ensuring she was kept comfortable the whole time. We were even able to be there with her during the entire experience from when she went under, during the sutures, and when she woke up! It was nothing like we had ever experienced and not like other animal hospitals where they take your dog back and you sit in the waiting room worried sick about how they are doing. The staff were super helpful in explaining what everything on the bill was for, and worked with us to get a price we felt comfortable with. We are super grateful for the top notch care our dog received and will definitely return if we ever need to. Thank you to all!

Veterinary Emergency Group Introduce
Introducing Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG), located at 2101 S Brentwood Blvd, Brentwood, MO 63144, USA. Operating within the Pet Hospital category, VEG distinguishes itself by focusing exclusively on emergency and critical veterinary care. Unlike traditional veterinary clinics that offer routine services, VEG is dedicated to providing immediate and specialized attention to pets facing urgent and often life-threatening medical situations. Based on overwhelmingly positive customer reviews, VEG in Brentwood offers a unique and comforting experience during highly stressful times for pet owners.
The environment at Veterinary Emergency Group is consistently described as welcoming and unlike typical emergency animal hospitals. Instead of a sterile and impersonal waiting area, VEG provides a more comfortable setting. Customers have mentioned being greeted quickly and offered their "own couch to wait with our pup." This thoughtful approach immediately sets a tone of care and consideration for both the distressed pet and their worried owners. The presence of amenities such as snacks, drinks, and even fresh-baked cookies further contributes to a more humane and supportive atmosphere. The emphasis appears to be on creating a calm and peaceful environment during what can be a highly emotional experience.
The services offered at Veterinary Emergency Group are centered around emergency and critical care for pets. This encompasses a wide range of urgent medical and surgical needs. Based on the detailed accounts from satisfied customers, their services include:
- Immediate Assessment and Care: VEG prides itself on its ability to take patients in right away, ensuring that pets experiencing emergencies receive timely attention without delay.
- Comprehensive Emergency Medical Treatment: Addressing a wide spectrum of urgent medical conditions, from deep cuts and trauma to sudden illnesses requiring immediate intervention.
- Emergency Surgical Procedures: Equipped to handle emergent surgical needs, as exemplified by the successful treatment of a dog who was mauled and required immediate surgery.
- Advanced Monitoring and Support: Providing continuous monitoring and support for critically ill or injured pets throughout their treatment.
- Transparency in Billing: The staff is commended for being "super helpful in explaining what everything on the bill was for" and working with pet owners to find a price they felt comfortable with, indicating a commitment to open communication about costs.
- Family-Centered Care: A truly unique feature of VEG is their policy of allowing pet owners to be present with their animals during the entire treatment process, including when the pet goes under anesthesia, during surgical procedures like suturing, and when they wake up. This unprecedented level of involvement provides immense comfort to owners who would otherwise be left anxiously waiting in a separate area.
- Comfort and Support for Owners: Offering not just medical care for pets but also emotional support and comfort for their owners through a welcoming environment and open communication.
The standout feature of Veterinary Emergency Group is undoubtedly their approach to emergency care, which prioritizes both the pet's well-being and the owner's peace of mind. Allowing owners to be present throughout the entire process, including surgery, is a practice rarely seen in emergency animal hospitals and is deeply appreciated by VEG's clients. This transparency and inclusion foster trust and alleviate the anxiety associated with leaving a sick or injured pet in the care of strangers behind closed doors.
The staff at VEG are consistently praised for their compassion, efficiency, and clear communication. They are described as welcoming, helpful, and dedicated to ensuring the pet's comfort throughout the entire experience. Their willingness to explain the treatment plan and the associated costs thoroughly demonstrates a commitment to ethical and transparent practices.
The environment at VEG is intentionally designed to be calming and supportive, a stark contrast to the often stressful atmosphere of a typical emergency room. The provision of comfortable seating, snacks, and drinks indicates a holistic approach to care that considers the needs of the worried pet owners as well as the patients themselves.
Currently, the provided information does not include any specific promotional offers or details about new client specials at Veterinary Emergency Group. However, their unique approach to emergency care and the high level of service provided are themselves significant differentiators. Oct 19, 2024 · Liliana PinoThe best care for our pet. My daughter's dog was mauled at 10pm last night and needed emergent surgery. I was amazed by every single thing I experienced here. Took us right in. Calm peaceful environment. Couches and chairs for family to sit with and watch surgery and treatment. There was even a lady bringing around snacks. We were allowed to be involved with care and ask questions throughout our entire visit. I wish they offered human medicine here! Give them all the starts
Dec 20, 2024 · cynthia aleidanMy experience was wonderful. I hate that I had to travel an hour to get there, but the treatment Luna received was worth it. At one point, a woman came in with her cat who was choking, and watching ALL available personal rush to her to aid her cat was absolutely heartwarming. It was amazing seeing so many people receive care for the pets at the same time. The staff are absolutely amazing! They even gave Luna some water when I asked for some for her. Cassie was so amazing! The nurse who took Luna’s vitals (I forget her name, but she mentioned she was partially deaf) was also amazing! They were both so kind, and caring. I was so scared for my baby girl, and they made everything so easy to deal with.
Mar 28, 2025 · Brandon ThomureThe staff helped save our puppy over this Christmas when she was dehydrated and unable to produce stool. They went above and beyond to make our puppy comfortable and us. At one point they bought our family fresh baked cookies which may not seem like a big deal. But when we were worried about whether or not our puppy would make it through the night, a warm cookie felt like a warm hug. They were able to help our pup get the help she needed and she was home in 2 days. We’re forever grateful for the staff at VEG for saving our 4 month old puppy and keeping us informed throughout the process.
Dec 26, 2024 · Kristine StanleyDr. Haley Wagner and the rest of the girls was so helpful and understanding in my time of need with my pup emergency. They worked with me tremendously financially and kept me updated on everything they were doing as they were doing it while working quickly all while trying their best. Very passionate people & I appreciate them with everything in me. They tried their absolute best to save my baby but the damage was done. I'm glad they was able to help her go peacefully and I'll forever be grateful.
