We are so incredibly grateful to VEG for the care we received over three days. No one wants to have to go to ER but, this was the best ER experience I have ever had. The staff and vets are extremely kind and compassionate. I have never been to any kind of urgent or emergency vet situation where the vets are SO completely accessible. The most incredible part of the experience is that, you never have to be separated from your pet. My (separation anxiety) dog had to stay for several days to receive treatment for an acute kidney injury, and I was Able to stay by his side, the entire time through every test and treatment. We were set up in a room that had a bed so I even was able to get sleep during the nights! I I am confident that this completely lowered my dogs, levels of stress and helped him heal faster. My kids were able to come and visit as much as they wanted and even brought my dogs sister to hang out to help him feel more comfortable. Everyone there seem to genuinely care about my dog and seem really delighted when he started to feel better and played with a ball that they gave him. I cannot recommend VEG highly enough.

Mar 02, 2025 · Michelle MaloneyI dropped by this place which recently opened and toured the facility. It was amazing to see all the amenities, family waiting room, open area waiting room an open area triage and procedure. The staff was super friendly the place is super clean and all sizes of kennels available for your pet. This is definitely an emergency room equipped to handle your fur babies needs! Thank you VEG for allowing me the visit.
Feb 18, 2025 · Majeur CarruzakesI cannot recommend this hospital enough. We brought our big boy in for an early urinary obstruction and received top tier treatment, communication, compassion, and kindness throughout his entire 3 day stay. Though it was on the more expensive side, it is thoroughly worthwhile for your beloved pet. I did love that you are able to stay with your pet for as long or as little as you need, which is nice for helicopter parents like myself (you can even stay overnight). They have also been super helpful after we took him home and will occasionally call to see how he is doing. The staff are a group of wonderfully trained and supportive people that are genuinely invested in you and your pet’s wellbeing.
Feb 28, 2025 · Gabi SMy 11 year old corgi Kali was suffering with some eye irritation, to the point where her eye was completely shut and had discharge, and causing her pain. I know you never want to mess around with eyes so I knew I needed to take her to the ER. VEG has such an amazing reputation, that I was ecstatic to see they recently opened a hospital in San Antonio. I knew this was the place I wanted to bring Kali. As soon as I walked in the door I was treated not only like family, but almost like royalty. Everyone was so kind, compassionate, caring and accommodating I was honestly taken aback. Their open concept floor plan allows you to be part of your pets care (if you choose to) the whole time! While this was not a life-threatening situation, it still meant so much to be my girls side. The staff and doctor talked everything through with me thoroughly and put it in layman’s terms for us non-medical folk, which I really appreciated. Huge shout out to Ariel and Dr. Bercier, but everyone was amazing. So thankful for the treatment received and that Kali has a good prognosis given the care and medicine she received. Hope I don’t have to return, but if I ever do, this is absolutely where I’m going!
Mar 04, 2025 · Ann SnowI had to take my very sick dog in for care in the middle of the night and the staff at VEG was amazing. They were so attentive, caring, and empathetic. I loved the open concept where I could be with my dog during every step of her care. It was a difficult night with bad news as her illness had seriously progressed, but they helped me get through a very sad and stressful time. RIP sweet baby girl. 😢
Mar 11, 2025 · V CWe took cinnamon in at 3 am for heavy breathing concerns and every single person working at VEG was amazing and kind to us and her. I chose to take her here because of the reviews and I was not disappointed. She was treated quickly and with the upmost care and I felt comfortable every step of the way. Cinnamon is home and on the road to recovery from pneumonia and I cannot thank the lovely people at VEG enough. 10/10 would recommend!
Mar 15, 2025 · shy-nae youngI had to put down my sweet Kylo not too long ago and VEG made my most painful and heartbreaking experience as smooth as possible as well as making it memorable. The vet and techs were amazing and compassionate walking me through the process, and were patient with me. Kylo was my first cat and pet and it was my first time putting down a loving pet. I really want to thank you guys for supporting me through the whole process. Thank you guys for the card that I didn’t even expect. It means a lot to me seeing his paw and nose prints. It shows that you guys truly care about the pet who are coming into the clinic, and the owner as well. I would recommend VEG San Antonio to anyone who needs ER vet care. If I can, I would give VEG 100 stars for the review.
