Can’t say enough great things about VEG. Unfortunately my poor boy didn’t end up making it, his little body was giving out on him. But VEG let him spend his last night with dignity. I got to be with him for every step of the process, and even let me carry him around as we wheeled his IV. I’m confident they gave him his best shot at recovery. Everyone we worked with was so kind and caring. They continually checked in with us, even when they were incredibly busy. I never felt alone in the process. They were thoughtful in their treatment recommendations and were honest when they thought it was time to get him to more intensive care. Coco was my absolute best friend for 16 years and the team at VEG really made me feel like they recognized that and he mattered to them. They kept me updated with texts and pictures. His night at VEG was his first (and last) time sleeping away from home and I was really nervous for him, I could tell he didn’t want to sleep because he kept nodding off and waking up. Their picture and encouraging texts made me feel a million times better. I wish I could turn back time and make a lot of different choices, but I will never regret taking him to VEG. He got very sick very fast but they never made me feel like we were giving up hope. Thank you guys a million times over for treating Coco and I like we mattered. You made an unbearably painful situation the best that it could be.

May 01, 2025 · MeghanMy dog Coco was seen for what turned out to be heart failure. Dr. Armstrong and the rest of the staff were absolutely amazing! Coco was treated immediately, and I was met with compassion and empathy I never once felt out of the loop or judged. They treated me like a person, not a customer which unfortunately other vets tend to do. They saved my best friend’s life and bought me more precious time with her. I am forever thankful and beyond impressed with VEG, they are by far the most caring, kind, and efficient emergency vet I have ever interacted with. Thank you VEG for all that you do!
May 21, 2025 · M MI had to take my 14-year-old dog to Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) last night after he suddenly developed issues with walking, balance, and rapid eye movements. It was a terrifying situation, but overall, I had a positive experience. At first, the open-concept setup felt a little strange to me, but I quickly realized how comforting it was to be able to stay with my pet the entire time rather than being separated from him. The couches, along with the blankets and pillows they provided, made a stressful night much more bearable. My dog is 14 and very anxious, and they were incredibly accommodating—they put us in a quiet room and even made a bed for him, which helped him settle down. That extra care meant so much. The vet who treated him was incredibly informative and clearly very knowledgeable (I wish I remembered her name!). She took the time to explain everything thoroughly, which I really appreciated. They ran extensive blood work, which thankfully came back normal, ruling out major concerns. While the visit was expensive, (as all emergency vets are) they refunded tests they didn’t perform and even gave a discount since the wait was longer than expected—something I found refreshingly transparent. If you ever find yourself in an emergency situation, VEG is a great option for urgent care. Yes, it’s pricey (as all emergency vets are), but the level of care, transparency, and the ability to stay with your pet make it a place I’d return to if needed. Hopefully, I won’t have to—but if I do, I’d feel confident going back.
Mar 01, 2025 · Rhiannon Spaziano (RhiannonWytch)My son had an emergency with his service dog this last weekend (Friday after hours of regular vet). He is in Rhode Island for college and I am in North Carolina. When he arrived he was greeted and Fletcher was given a full exam. He was given options for further diagnosis and testing, including the price of same. There was no "hard push" to do the more expensive testing. My son has panic attacks and one of Fletcher's "jobs" is to mitigate these attacks. Needless to say, he was in a panic attack! The staff at VEG was kind, thoughtful, and understanding of his panic and I was also able to talk to them and decide a course of action. Again, the vet was super kind, understanding and explained all the options to me. As a former vet tech, I really appreciated the level of service. They even sent the reports to the regular RI vet, as well as to my son to send to our vet down here. I cannot recommend these folks highly enough! Thank you for all the care my son and Fletcher received!
Feb 24, 2025 · Stephanie HarknessAmazing emergency vet care! The staff was attentive, professional, kind and very knowledgeable. All care is provided to your pet in the comfort of your own room and you are involved in every step of the visit. My Akita Oreo, became very sick in the matter of days ,and on the third day was unable to walk using his hind legs. Thankfully with the staffs quick response and care ,he was diagnosed with Lyme disease, admitted to the facility and received treatment needed immediately. He is now home and resting comfortably with an expected full recovery! The services my dog received is off the charts! Thank you all so very much for saving my dog!
