I’m not one to write reviews, it either has to be terrible, amazing or my friend’s company. The staff and services at VEG is one of those instances of incredible, above-and-beyond quality. I’d be doing a disservice if I did not publicize how professional the staff is at this location. Our 11-year-old Golden Retriever required emergency surgery on a Friday around 4pm. With ICUs full across the city or not taking our case, VEG did not hesitate to bring Remy in, get her stabilized, review her medical history and have her in surgery within just a few hours. Led by Dr. Halvorson and Nurse Linden, the team performed the spleen removal surgery with exceptional quality. Being an overnight surgery, they allowed us to stay with Remy, we even joked how we got upgraded to a suite as they gave us our own room with a couch and a bed for our dog so she was comfortable. Thank you to the entire team, we are happy to have our girl home feeling better! New York City and Remy is extremely lucky that your practice exists.

I cannot thank the team at the Veterinary Emergency Group enough for their outstanding care and compassion during such a challenging time with my dog. From the moment we arrived, the staff and vet team were incredibly kind and attentive. Dr. Blutinger took the time to walk me through every option for my dog’s health, providing reassurance and a sense of hope when I was feeling overwhelmed. His attentiveness and dedication went above and beyond what I could have expected, making sure my dog was comfortable and thoroughly cared for. The staff’s warmth and gentleness were also a great comfort. One of the team members even helped me carry my dog to the car, as he was very weak and I had my child with me, showing a level of empathy that I will always remember. I am deeply grateful for their kindness, professionalism, and genuine care for both my dog and our family. If you're looking for a veterinary team that treats you like family and provides exceptional service, I highly recommend the Veterinary Emergency Group.

A huge thank you to the Veterinary Emergency Group Chelsea – you are all heroes! Your care for Finnegan over these past few days has been exceptional, and we couldn’t have asked for a better team. I was excited to visit New York for the first time to attend NYCC, flying in from Washington with my service dog, Finnegan. However, upon landing, I noticed that Finnegan wasn’t his usual chipper self. He seemed lethargic, was vomiting, had diarrhea, and was refusing food and water. Unfamiliar with the city, I quickly searched for an emergency vet with the best reviews within walking distance of my hotel. I found a clinic about a 25-minute walk away and rushed Finnegan there. He was seen by a vet right away. At first, they suspected an intestinal issue or a blockage. They ran blood tests and took X-rays, and recommended he stay overnight for monitoring in case his condition worsened. I’m glad I made the decision for him to stay because things took a turn for the worse. Another doctor on the team decided to test for parvo, and despite being a fully vaccinated 8-month-old pup, Finnegan tested positive. To be certain, they ran the test two more times, and each came back positive. The team immediately adjusted his treatment plan to follow the latest protocols for battling this deadly virus. Every day was a struggle, but they never gave up. On the third day of Finnegan’s hospitalization, I was supposed to fly back home. The team was concerned about his condition during the flight and advised me to delay my departure by one more day. I rearranged my plans to give him the best chance at recovery. I’m so glad I did. By day four, Finnegan had improved significantly, and by the evening, he was well enough to be discharged. We finally flew home the next day. Now that we’re back, Finnegan is continuing to recover. He’s alive today because of the dedicated team who treated him. I am so grateful for their care and support. Thank you! Doctors: Dr. Hauser, Dr. Halvorson, Dr. Friedman, Dr. Green, and Dr. Hsu Assistant Team: Emily, Ryan, Lucia, Jaileen, Tomer, Nathaniel, and Genesis Nursing Team: Caroline, Era, Lyndon, and Marquis Thank you all for everything you’ve done for Finnegan. We are forever grateful. ❤️❤️

Having been to BP and some of the other emergency vets around the country, this was the best experience we’ve ever had! Our little pug had a scary episode on a Friday night and we rushed him to Veg, where the team immediately took him and gave him the top of the line treatment and care that he needed. I really loved that I was able to stay with him the entire time as he was receiving exams and getting care because it absolutely helped him stay calm and helped me to know what was going on. The whole team of doctors and techs were so unbelievably kind and patient with us and of course with our pug. He was wrapped up in a the fuzziest warm blanket on his own bed while we waited for results and we were right there with him with water bottles and snacks that the team brought us. And of course I had 100 questions to ask and the team was so patient in asking every single one. We found out later that Dr. Tan had stayed 2 hours past the scheduled end of her shift (on a Friday night!) to finish treating our pug. I would recommend VEG to anyone needing urgent care for their furry friend. When your furbaby needs emergency medical attention, stress, anxiety and emotions will obviously be running high. And the team at VEG somehow manages to bring as much comfort to the paw-rents as possible while providing the fur babies the best treatment that they need. We are so grateful for VEG and for every member of the team.

As a dog owner, you never think that you will walk into a vet office and walk out without your best friend. That's what happened to us this week when our 10yr old shepherd mix, Panda, started to show signs of distress overnight. We came to VEG because it was the easiest commute and we hoped for the best. When we found out that his body was failing and we had to make that agonizing decision, the doctor treated us and our dog with dignity and respect until the very end. A complete stranger who understood the gravity of our sadness while being honest with us about the fact that he was shutting down. I would hope that every dog parent would experience this kind of empathy and care when facing the loss of their family member. Thank you to all who cared for our sweet Panda in his last moments.

I had to bring my cat to Veterinary Emergency Group right before Christmas Eve due to a concerning urination problem, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff was absolutely lovely, knowledgeable, and incredibly understanding. They quickly got to work and helped knock out a couple of potential factors causing my cat's issue, which brought me so much relief. Despite it being such a busy time of year, the team was energetic and attentive, making me feel like my cat's care was their top priority. I’m so grateful for their help and compassion. Highly recommend VEG for anyone needing emergency care for their pets! Thank you Doc & Nurses~
