I can't thank the wonderfully kind people at the MSU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory enough for their thoughtful and gracious handling of my precious companion of 25 years. This was such a devastating experience for us and they treated us with the utmost courtesy, compassion and expediency. Nobody wants to suffer this kind of loss and their kindness really helped minimize the incomprehensible pain of our dear boy's sudden and unexpected departure. Their analysis and the cremation were completed quickly and professionally, and the results will be helpful in maintaining a healthy regimen for his surviving sister. We are grateful to have this beautiful facility staffed by such amazing people within a reasonable distance.

The facility appears to be well-equipped to handle various diagnostic needs and offers a supportive atmosphere for pet owners navigating challenging health situations.
One heartfelt review highlights the human aspect of their services: "I can't thank the wonderfully kind people at the MSU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory enough for their thoughtful and gracious handling of my precious companion of 25 years. This was such a devastating experience for us and they treated us with the utmost courtesy, compassion and expediency." This testament speaks volumes about the staff's dedication to not only providing professional services but also offering emotional support to grieving pet owners. This level of care is a significant feature for local users seeking a "Pet Hospital" that understands the deep bond between humans and their animal companions.
The services offered at the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory extend to critical post-mortem care. The review continues, "Nobody wants to suffer this kind of loss and their kindness really helped minimize the incomprehensible pain of our dear boy's sudden and unexpected departure. Their analysis and the cremation were completed quickly and professionally, and the results will be helpful in maintaining a healthy regimen for his surviving sister." This indicates that the laboratory provides necropsy services to determine the cause of death, offering valuable insights that can help manage the health of other animals in the household. Furthermore, they offer cremation services, handling the process with professionalism and respect.
Another customer who utilized their services for a different type of pet shared, "I was there for necropsy of my pet chicken. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly." This suggests that the laboratory caters to a range of animals, not just traditional pets like cats and dogs. The staff's knowledge across different species is a valuable feature for a diverse local pet owner community seeking specialized diagnostic services from a "Pet Hospital."
However, the same review also points out a potential area for improvement regarding transparency in pricing and website navigation for new users: "I didn't know until I called how much it would cost me though. Website seems to be for people who have already used the service, not the easiest to navigate." This suggests that while the services are professional and the staff is friendly, local users might need to contact them directly to inquire about the costs of specific procedures. Additionally, the website might not be the primary source of information for first-time users looking for a "Pet Hospital" offering diagnostic services.
Based on the available information, key features of the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory as a "Pet Hospital" include:
- Specialized Diagnostic Services: Primarily focused on laboratory analysis and necropsy to understand animal health issues.

Nov 07, 2023 · Casey HulbertWe sadly had a hen lose the ability to stand, so we brought her to the center for a Necrology. Everyone involved was very professional and helpful. We found out our chicken had a virus and we were given instruction for dealing with it within our flock.
