Received a bill for services on my dog from the previous owner. Was threatened to be sent to collections if I didn't pay someone else's bill. Once I called and explained the bill wasn't mine to pay.... they told me I wasn't to do business with them anymore. I was a loyal customer for 15 years and always paid all bills in full. I would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Veterinary Clinic-Prophetstown Introduce
This introduction focuses on Veterinary Clinic-Prophetstown, a "Pet Hospital" located at 51 Grove St, Prophetstown, IL 61277, USA. As a "Pet Hospital," this clinic is expected to provide veterinary care and potentially offer related goods for sale to the community of Prophetstown, Illinois. The available information includes their address and phone number ((815) 537-5147 or +1 815-537-5147), along with two customer reviews detailing significant negative experiences regarding their billing and business practices. It is crucial for local users to be aware of these experiences when considering this clinic for their pet care needs. Therefore, this introduction will primarily focus on the issues raised in these reviews to provide an objective overview based solely on the provided information.
Regarding the environment, neither of the provided reviews offers any description of the physical premises of Veterinary Clinic-Prophetstown. Therefore, we cannot objectively comment on the clinic's ambiance, cleanliness, or facilities based on the current information. Local users seeking details about the environment would need to look for additional information from other sources or potentially visit the clinic themselves.
In terms of services, the reviews do not explicitly mention the types of veterinary services offered by Veterinary Clinic-Prophetstown. Typically, a "Pet Hospital" provides a range of care, including routine check-ups, vaccinations, treatment for illnesses and injuries, and possibly surgical procedures. However, the focus of the provided feedback is not on the quality or scope of their medical services but rather on their billing and customer service practices. Thus, we cannot make any objective statements about their veterinary service quality based solely on these reviews.
The features highlighted by the customer reviews are predominantly negative, relating to their business and billing practices. Both reviewers describe being billed for services rendered to their dogs before they owned them. One former loyal customer of 15 years recounts being threatened with collections for a bill that was the previous owner's responsibility. Upon explaining this, the clinic allegedly told them they were no longer welcome to do business there, despite their long history of paying bills in full. The second reviewer echoes this experience, expressing disappointment that the clinic expected them to pay for services incurred by the previous owner of their dog. They also criticized this as "very poor business practices" and indicated their intention to seek veterinary care elsewhere.
These accounts suggest a significant issue with the clinic's billing procedures and customer service when dealing with the transfer of pet ownership and associated financial responsibilities. A concerning feature appears to be a lack of due diligence in ensuring bills are directed to the correct responsible party and a potentially confrontational approach when these issues are raised by new owners of previously treated pets. The alleged reaction of the clinic to a long-term, loyal customer who pointed out a billing error – by refusing further business – is also a noteworthy and negative feature highlighted in the reviews.
Regarding promotional information, there is none present in the provided text. The nature of the customer feedback, which details negative billing experiences, overshadows any potential positive aspects or promotions the clinic might offer. Therefore, based solely on this information, we cannot comment on any promotional activities of Veterinary Clinic-Prophetstown.
In conclusion, the limited information available for Veterinary Clinic-Prophetstown in Prophetstown, IL, primarily consists of two negative customer reviews focusing on billing and business practices. Both reviewers report being asked to pay for veterinary services their pets received before they owned them, with one long-term customer claiming they were threatened with collections and subsequently told not to return after clarifying the situation. These accounts raise serious concerns about the clinic's billing accuracy and customer service approach in such scenarios. For local users in Prophetstown, IL, considering this "Pet Hospital," it is essential to be aware of these reported experiences. While the reviews do not comment on the quality of veterinary care itself, the described business practices may be a significant factor for pet owners to consider. As there is no positive feedback or information about the clinic's environment, services, or promotions in the provided text, potential customers should weigh these negative experiences heavily and perhaps seek further information or consider other options for their pet care needs.

Jan 07, 2025 · Ray DruienVery disappointed with this clinic. They expected us to pay a bill for services provided on our dog months BEFORE the dog was even ours. The person who brought the dog in for services (the previous owner) should be held responsible. Very poor business practices. Will definitely be taking our business elsewhere.
Jan 07, 2025 · Abbey BlackbournI have been a client for at least 20 years, and never had one problem. Everyone is kind and compassionate.

Jan 13, 2025 · Angie WilsonThis is a wonderful place. They got me in after my dog had a seizure when two other clinics turned me away because they didn’t have appointments for new patients. Dr. Robinson was very kind and gentle with my dog Ginger and even carried her (she’s a 60lb greyhound mix) in to the clinic for me since she couldn’t walk. He was very knowledgeable and gave me options for her care. He answered all questions I had and gave Ginger extraordinary care. The prices here are very good and I would recommend this clinic to anyone.
