Staff was very nice and friendly. Welcomed us as if we were the only clients there and it made me feel that they genuinely cared. Dr. Fredrickson was also very nice and thorough. She explained everything step by step. Wasn’t pushy in anyway. Good, calm experience that we had!

As a specialized Pet Hospital dedicated to oncology, Veterinary Cancer Group SB offers a unique and focused environment designed to cater to the specific needs of pets with cancer and their families. Our facility is equipped with advanced technology and treatment modalities essential for comprehensive cancer care. You will find a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, designed to minimize stress for both you and your pet during visits. We understand the importance of a calm and supportive environment during cancer treatment. Our waiting areas are designed for comfort, and our examination rooms provide a private and reassuring space for consultations. Cleanliness and safety are paramount in our facility, and we adhere to the highest standards of hygiene and infection control protocols.
Veterinary Cancer Group SB offers a comprehensive range of specialized services dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and management of cancer in pets. Our team of board-certified veterinary oncologists and experienced veterinary professionals are at the forefront of veterinary cancer care. We utilize advanced diagnostic techniques, including sophisticated imaging such as digital radiography, ultrasound, and potentially CT scans or MRIs (depending on availability and partnerships), as well as advanced laboratory diagnostics, including histopathology and cytology, to accurately diagnose different types and stages of cancer in pets.
Our treatment options are tailored to each individual pet's specific cancer, overall health, and family's goals. We offer a wide array of cancer treatment modalities, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy (potentially through on-site facilities or established referral networks), and surgical oncology. Our veterinary oncologists will thoroughly discuss all available treatment options with you, explaining the benefits, risks, and expected outcomes to help you make informed decisions about your pet's care. We are committed to providing personalized treatment plans that aim to not only fight the cancer but also maintain your pet's comfort and quality of life throughout the treatment process.
Surgical oncology is a critical component of cancer treatment for many pets. Our skilled veterinary surgeons are experienced in performing a wide range of cancer-related surgeries, from tumor removal to palliative procedures aimed at improving comfort. We utilize advanced surgical techniques and equipment to maximize the success of the surgery while minimizing invasiveness and recovery time. Anesthesia and pain management are carefully tailored to each patient to ensure their safety and comfort before, during, and after the surgical procedure.
Chemotherapy involves the use of medications to kill or slow the growth of cancer cells. Our veterinary oncologists are highly experienced in administering various chemotherapy protocols, carefully selecting the most appropriate drugs and dosages for your pet's specific type of cancer and overall health. We prioritize your pet's well-being during chemotherapy, with a focus on minimizing side effects and maintaining their quality of life. Our dedicated veterinary nurses are specially trained in the safe handling and administration of chemotherapy drugs and will provide compassionate care and monitoring throughout the treatment process.
Radiation therapy is another important treatment modality for certain types of cancer in pets. Veterinary Cancer Group SB may offer on-site radiation therapy or work closely with referral centers that provide this specialized treatment. Radiation therapy uses high-energy rays to target and destroy cancer cells while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues. Our team will coordinate closely with radiation oncology specialists to develop a comprehensive treatment plan if radiation therapy is the recommended course of action for your pet.
Immunotherapy is an evolving field in veterinary oncology that harnesses the pet's own immune system to fight cancer. Veterinary Cancer Group SB stays informed about the latest advancements in immunotherapy and may offer these innovative treatments when appropriate for your pet's specific condition.
A key feature of Veterinary Cancer Group SB, as a Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner, is our commitment to a collaborative and compassionate approach. Oct 14, 2024 · nancy aBefore we even arrived, we felt cared for. We spoke with Bo and she helped us make all the arrangements for our first visit with Lacey. After the examination Dr. Shuh did a fantastic job of preparing us for what was needed next and made arrangements with Dr. Da Costa Gomez for surgery the next day. Dr. Da Costa Gomez has kept us up to date with the results of the biopsy so that we may move forward with the next steps in Lacey's treatment. We are truly grateful for the care.
