We are absolutely blown away by Dr. Bryant and her incredible team! Our dog's success story is nothing short of amazing. When we first started working with them, we were in complete despair, struggling with behaviors that felt impossible to change. But thanks to their expertise, patience, and dedication, we have seen a 180-degree transformation for the better! A special shout out to Sarah, our behavior therapist, who was absolutely fantastic to work with. Her guidance, support, and deep understanding of canine behavior made all the difference in our journey. The progress has been life-changing, and we couldn't be more grateful. If you're looking for compassionate, knowledgeable professionals who truly understand dogs and can help turn things around, we highly recommend Dr. Bryant, Sarah, and the entire team!

One customer enthusiastically shared their positive experience, highlighting a significant improvement in their dog's behavior after working with Dr. Bryant and her team. They specifically praised the expertise, patience, and dedication of the staff, including a behavior therapist named Sarah, whose guidance and understanding of canine behavior were described as life-changing. This reviewer highly recommends the clinic for compassionate and knowledgeable professionals who can help with challenging pet behaviors.

In contrast, another customer reported a different experience when seeking help for their dog's reactivity towards children and strangers. While they found the initial conversations with the doctor helpful and received some tips (many of which they already knew), they felt the primary focus of the initial $850 two-hour consultation was the prescription of medication. This customer, who described their dog as generally chill, expressed reservations about medicating unnecessarily and had hoped for more actionable training strategies, especially given the cost. They also noted that the team did not observe the dog's problem behaviors directly or request videos, raising concerns about the development of an effective treatment plan based solely on verbal descriptions. Furthermore, they mentioned that a follow-up appointment with a behaviorist would incur an additional charge.

Local pet owners seeking a "Pet Hospital" specializing in behavioral issues should consider these differing perspectives when evaluating Veterinary Behavior Specialties of Minnesota. While some clients report remarkable success and appreciate the team's expertise, others express concerns about the cost, the reliance on medication, and the lack of direct observation of problem behaviors. It may be beneficial for potential clients to inquire about the clinic's assessment methods, treatment planning process, and follow-up care options to determine if their approach aligns with their pet's specific needs and their own expectations.

We brought one of our dogs in here because he is reactive toward children and when strangers enter our home. We’ve worked with other trainers and the behavior persisted so we figured we’d try a behaviorist to get another point of view. Upon our first appointment, we had good conversations with the doctor and she gave us a few tips (a lot of what we talked about we already knew). It felt like the whole point of the appointment was to prescribe him medication, though, since that was really the only written recommendation we ever received. He’s a chill dog otherwise and I feel like he doesn’t need the medication that was prescribed for multiple times a day - I’m not a fan of medicating when it’s not necessary, and this felt unnecessary. We were hoping to walk away with more actionable items that we can work with him on, especially for the cost. $850 for an initial 2 hour visit with no follow up is quite steep. The other odd thing about this setup is the team never actually sees your dog doing the problem behaviors, nor did they ever ask for videos, so they are operating off how you describe the behavior only. I’m really not sure how someone can successfully work to correct your dog’s behavior without ever witnessing it. For the cost, we were really hoping for a more personalized plan than what we’ve received so far. We have one appointment coming up with a behaviorist, so we’ll see how that goes. However, it’s worth noting that this is yet another additional charge from the $850 initial consult.

The professionals at Minnesota Veterinary Behavior Specialists made our lives so much better by teaching us how to reduce Buddy’s separation anxiety. They gave us strategies that taught Buddy new behaviors—now we can confidently leave him at home while we go out for a few hours. We don’t have to worry that he’ll howl and bother the neighbors; we’re calmer and so is he. In addition to behavior management strategies, medications were helpful in reducing his anxiety. This was often a trial process, but we worked together to gradually find the right balance for Buddy’s comfort and a better quality of life for him (and us). Dr Bryant, Sarah, and all the support staff were so easy to work with, both in person and via Zoom. We wholeheartedly recommend this team!

While I think while the Vet I met with was very professional and knowledgeable, I did not gain much from the meeting that I didn't already know and the cost was shockingly high! I thought I had paid the entire visit cost prior to my visit... It was only half the cost!! No where in the communication that I received did it clearly say the cost of the visit (which was $850.00). They need to make this clear in thier communications for folks that don't just have an extra grand laying around!!!! If your dog has anxiety issues, unless the are markedly severe, you can probably get more value from just meeting with an animal behavioralist and asking for meds from your normal vet. Disappointed and dissatisfied.

Our regular vet referred us to this clinic because of our pups severe separation anxiety. My only regret is I did not reach out sooner for an appointment. From the very beginning I was impressed with the organization of appointments and thoroughness of the paperwork/information gathering. Then I met Dr. Hayes and Sarah our trainer and you can tell right from the beginning that their knowledge of dogs is leaps and bounds ahead others. When coming up with a treatment plan they think of the dogs strengths and needs as well as the humans strengths and needs to develop a successful plan for all. They genuinely care and are so thoughtful of the pup and humans. Dr. Hayes and Sarah have improved Elly's quality of life which has improved the humans in the home quality of life too. I am so thankful for their passion to help pups and families that have challenging needs.
