If I could give zero stars I would. The last 2 years each time we go to the Camillus location, we are told our dogs dont need the heartworm test if we havent let the prescription run out or they are overdue. Now they “require” it whether its run out or not, plus try to get you do to other vaccines they dont need. When I pushed back I was told I was rude. Yeah I’m tired of being told different things just so they can make more money. Its not a savings anymore to take your animals here. They dont even examine them. Just go to an actual vet. It costs the same.

Welcome to Vetco Vaccination Clinic
Welcome, pet owners in Camillus, New York, and the surrounding areas! When seeking accessible and potentially more affordable options for your pet's preventative care, Vetco Vaccination Clinic, located at 178 Township Blvd Unit 400, Camillus, NY 13031, USA, operates within the platform category of Pet Hospitals, primarily focusing on vaccinations and potentially other basic wellness services. You can reach them by calling (315) 233-4243 or using their mobile number +1 315-233-4243. It's important to approach this introduction with a balanced perspective, considering the varied experiences reported by customers online.
As a Pet Hospital with a focus on vaccinations, Vetco Vaccination Clinic in Camillus likely aims to provide a convenient option for routine preventative care. The environment of such a clinic, often located within retail spaces, may differ from that of a traditional veterinary hospital. It might prioritize efficiency for administering vaccinations and other basic services. One customer review mentions the clinic being located within a store, highlighting the importance of ensuring your pet is comfortable around other animals in such a setting. This also suggests that the space might be more streamlined for quick service rather than extensive examinations or complex medical procedures.
The services offered at Vetco Vaccination Clinic likely center around preventative care, with a strong emphasis on vaccinations for common companion animals like dogs and cats. These vaccinations are crucial for protecting pets against a range of potentially serious infectious diseases. Depending on the specific offerings of the Camillus location, they might also provide other basic wellness services such as deworming, microchipping, and potentially limited health screenings. The name "Vaccination Clinic" strongly suggests that this is their primary focus, offering a more streamlined approach to preventative care compared to a full-service veterinary hospital.
However, one customer review raises concerns regarding the clinic's policies and the thoroughness of their examinations. This reviewer expresses dissatisfaction with a perceived change in policy regarding mandatory heartworm testing, suggesting that it may be driven by financial motives rather than the individual needs of the animals. They also mention being offered additional vaccines that they felt were unnecessary and that the clinic does not perform thorough examinations, advising pet owners to consider a traditional veterinarian instead, even if the cost is similar.
In contrast, another customer review presents a more positive experience, highlighting the affordability of the clinic, particularly for vaccinations, which were reported to be half the price of their regular vet. This suggests that one of the potential features of Vetco Vaccination Clinic could be its cost-effectiveness for routine preventative care. This reviewer also noted the courtesy of the staff and the prompt service received once checked in, despite a slight delay in opening and being initially overbooked. This indicates that while there might be occasional logistical issues, the staff can be efficient and courteous in delivering their services.
Considering these contrasting experiences, the features of Vetco Vaccination Clinic in Camillus appear to be:
- Focus on Vaccinations: As their name suggests, vaccinations are likely a primary service offered.
- Potentially Lower Costs: At least one reviewer found their prices for vaccinations to be significantly cheaper than a full-service vet.
- Convenient Location within a Retail Space: This can offer accessibility for pet owners already visiting the store.
- Courteous Staff: One reviewer specifically praised the courtesy of the staff.
- Potentially Streamlined Service: The focus may be on efficient administration of vaccinations rather than comprehensive examinations.
It is important for local users to be aware of the varying opinions regarding Vetco Vaccination Clinic in Camillus. While some may find it to be a cost-effective option for routine vaccinations, others have raised concerns about potential upselling of additional services and the lack of thorough examinations. The change in heartworm testing policy reported by one reviewer is also a point to consider for pet owners seeking consistent and transparent preventative care protocols.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the text. However, the lower cost of vaccinations reported by one customer could be considered an implicit promotional aspect, suggesting potential savings for pet owners seeking routine preventative care. To learn about any specific promotions, package deals for vaccinations, or other services offered at the Camillus location, it would be best to contact the clinic directly.
In conclusion, Vetco Vaccination Clinic in Camillus, NY, offers a focused approach to pet wellness, primarily centered around vaccinations and potentially other basic preventative services. While some customers have reported positive experiences regarding affordability and staff courtesy, others have raised concerns about changes in service policies, potential upselling, and the lack of thorough examinations. Local users should weigh these perspectives and consider their individual pet's needs when deciding whether Vetco Vaccination Clinic is the right choice for their animal's care. If cost-effective vaccinations are a primary concern, it may be a viable option, but it is advisable to inquire about their specific policies and the extent of their examinations to ensure it aligns with your pet's overall healthcare needs. Contacting the clinic directly at (315) 233-4243 can provide more specific information about their current services and policies.

May 10, 2025 · Lisa PersonsWe were told to be there 10 minutes before the appointment so got there at 8:50 am and they didn't even open the doors until 9:00am and then they were overbooked. But my overall experience was excellent. The staff wast courtesy and was taken right in for my dog's shots withing minutes of checking in. The proce was so mychcheaper than my regular vet by half. So yes a few minor issues but overall a 5 star experience.
Nov 11, 2024 · Garry UptonTook my dog for his vaccinations and there were cats in front of us, no carrier, no leash/harness/collars visible. The staff scolded myself/my dog and another woman/her dog, for barking. It was 'scaring the cats'. But they did not make the family get kennels for the cats, or any proper form of restraint for them whatsoever? It tells you on the website to bring your cats in a carrier. I'm not sure how scolding people with dogs for their dogs acting like dogs, is appropriate. All the staff acted flustered, like never before had they ever seen/heard a dog bark or a cat get frazzled because of it. I won't be returning to this Vetco clinic, for lack of professionalism and staff that don't seem like they are properly equipped to work with animals who behave.. like animals. I gave two stars because my dog got his vaccines, so that's a plus.

Dec 02, 2024 · Von PillmoreTerrible Experience using VETCO! They made us schedule an appointment because "they don't take walk-ins", but then when we arrive they would not see us at our appointment time because "they had 2 walk-ins before us"....!?!?!? Then after confirming our pet's information with 2 of the Vetco employees on the phone BEFORE walking inside - I get the report emailed to me loaded with wrong information! !?!?!? They were unprofessional throughout the entire process! Absolute Nightmare using VETCO! I highly suggest avoiding them!
