Horrible experience! They charge more for vaccines than their posted prices. They are not cheaper than going to a real vet’s office. You have to stand around in the store waiting on line, no privacy. They make you come back for booster shots and charge you double for one type of vaccine than getting the same vaccine in ONE shot in the regular vet’s office! Also the Vet doctor’s behavior with the dogs was bizarre… she kisses them up and down all over. I never saw this before. Very unprofessional. All around, a terrible experience. Stick with a real vet’s office!

Vetco Vaccination Clinic Introduce

For local residents in Brick Township, New Jersey, searching under the category "Pet Hospital," Vetco Vaccination Clinic, situated within a retail location at 509 NJ-70, presents a complex picture based on the limited available customer feedback. While one reviewer reports a positive experience with a caring veterinarian, another details a significantly negative encounter citing issues with pricing, convenience, vaccination protocols, and the veterinarian's professional behavior. This stark contrast necessitates a careful and objective examination of both perspectives to provide local users with a balanced understanding of what they might expect from this vaccination clinic.

One reviewer recounts a decidedly negative experience: "Horrible experience! Stick with a real vet’s office!" This detailed critique raises several significant concerns. The allegation of being charged more than the posted prices suggests a lack of transparency and potential overcharging, directly contradicting the common perception that vaccination clinics might offer more affordable care. The inconvenience of waiting in line within a retail store setting with "no privacy" points to a less than ideal environment for veterinary services, potentially causing stress for both pets and owners. A major point of contention is the vaccination protocol, with the reviewer claiming that Vetco requires booster shots and charges double for a vaccine that a regular vet's office would administer in a single dose. This raises questions about the cost-effectiveness and efficiency of Vetco's vaccination schedule. Finally, the reviewer's description of the veterinarian's behavior as "bizarre" and "very unprofessional," specifically mentioning excessive kissing of the dogs, is a serious concern regarding the clinic's standards of professional conduct. The overall sentiment of the review is overwhelmingly negative, culminating in a recommendation to choose a traditional veterinary office instead.

Conversely, another reviewer offers a positive, albeit brief, account: "Dr. Joyce was very sweet and caring. Piper was a little nervous, but she and her technician made Piper feel safe! Love Vetco!!!" This review presents a starkly different perspective, focusing on the positive interaction with a specific veterinarian, Dr. Joyce, and her technician. The reviewer found Dr. Joyce to be "very sweet and caring," suggesting a compassionate approach to animal care. The fact that they were able to make a nervous pet ("Piper") feel safe indicates a gentle and reassuring manner. The enthusiastic "Love Vetco!!!" at the end signifies a positive overall experience for this particular customer.

Based on these contrasting reviews, the environment of Vetco Vaccination Clinic in Brick Township appears to be within a retail store setting, potentially lacking privacy and requiring customers to wait in line. This is significantly different from the dedicated and often more private environment of a traditional veterinary hospital. The level of comfort and stress for pets could be a concern in such a setting.

The services offered by Vetco Vaccination Clinic primarily focus on vaccinations for pets. However, the discrepancy in the reviews regarding booster shot requirements and pricing suggests that the specific protocols and costs may not always be advantageous compared to a full-service veterinary hospital. While one positive review mentions a technician assisting the veterinarian, the scope of services beyond vaccinations is not detailed. It is likely that Vetco focuses on basic preventative care such as vaccinations and may offer limited additional services compared to a comprehensive pet hospital.

The features of Vetco Vaccination Clinic, based on the reviews, include its location within a retail store for potential convenience (though this is countered by the lack of privacy and waiting in line mentioned in the negative review). A potential feature could be the presence of veterinarians like Dr. Joyce who are described as sweet and caring and able to make nervous pets feel safe. However, another concerning feature raised is the alleged higher cost for vaccines compared to posted prices and traditional vets, as well as the potentially less efficient vaccination protocols requiring multiple booster shots at additional cost. The "bizarre" and "unprofessional" behavior attributed to another veterinarian is also a significant negative feature to consider.

No specific promotional information is mentioned in either of the provided reviews. Vaccination clinics sometimes advertise lower prices for routine vaccinations to attract customers. However, the negative review specifically disputes the claim of being cheaper. It would be advisable for local residents in Brick Township, NJ, to inquire directly with Vetco Vaccination Clinic about their current pricing for specific vaccines, their vaccination protocols (including the need for boosters and associated costs), and the qualifications and professional standards of their veterinary staff before making a decision. Comparing these details with the pricing and protocols of traditional veterinary hospitals in the area would be prudent.

In conclusion, for local residents in Brick Township, New Jersey, searching for a "Pet Hospital" and considering Vetco Vaccination Clinic for their pet's vaccination needs, the available reviews present a mixed and concerning picture. While one reviewer found a caring veterinarian and a positive experience, another reported significant issues with pricing transparency, convenience, vaccination protocols, and the professional behavior of a veterinarian. These contradictory accounts suggest that while Vetco might offer a seemingly convenient option due to its in-store location, potential drawbacks regarding cost, the clinical environment, and the quality of care and professionalism should be carefully considered. Local pet owners are strongly advised to conduct thorough research and potentially seek services from a full-service veterinary hospital to ensure comprehensive and reliable care for their pets.

I arrived and got in line around 3:05pm at the Brick, NJ location of PetCo. I was not seen until 5:56pm. I brought my kitten, on a leash which I have done many times before, and was told I would not be seen by the “vet” unless I put her in a carrier which I didn’t have with me. I had to get one or leave. The girl was very rude. Everyone in line was unhappy with how ridiculously long it was taking when this is usually a 20-30 minute thing. It’s just vaccinations. The vet and her assistants took a crazy long time in between each customer standing/sitting and talking. I have never been so aggravated going to PetCo/VetCo as I was on this occasion. I will never return to another Vetco again. I’d rather take my pets to an actual vet office and at least get treated better. The vet was polite but her assistant was rude to me and other people waiting on line.

I took my pup for her rabies vaccine. I will bring her for shots and tests from now on. The doctor, and her aides were fantastic.
