I had an appointment at 2:35 and was told to get there 10 minutes early and bring my dog's vet records. It doesn't specify that I don't need to bring them if all prior visits are with Vetco (which they were). My dog is 80 lbs and a puppy so he is very excited when he sees other dogs. He wants to play and I had to hold him back from doing so until 4:00 when I finally got to leave. Juggling that, holding the file of paperwork I brought for no reason along with my bag for an hour and a half was exhausting. I went there for two reasons - 1 for his bordatella shot and 2 to get his Simparica refill extended for another year for my autoship subscription. I was told in order to do that, he needed to have a heartworm test then the "prescription pad" would be emailed to me to provide for my autoship. I paid $53 for that test and did not receive the prescription by email like I was told. When I called customer service, they told me it was probably a glitch and I need to make another appointment! WHY would I have to make another appointment and go through that all over again when I specifically paid for and had that test done so the prescription would be sent to me???

Welcome to Vetco Vaccination Clinic
Introducing Vetco Vaccination Clinic, located at 3000 Gateway St STE 220, Springfield, OR 97477, USA. Operating under the platform category of "Pet Hospital," Vetco Vaccination Clinic focuses primarily on providing vaccinations and potentially other preventative care for pets. You can contact them at (541) 225-6554 or their mobile number +1 541-225-6554. Based on recent customer reviews, experiences at this clinic appear to be mixed, with concerns raised regarding wait times, communication, and service delivery.
One customer with a 2:35 PM appointment reported being asked to arrive 10 minutes early and bring their dog's vet records. Despite all prior visits being with Vetco, they were not informed that the records were unnecessary in this case. This resulted in the owner having to manage an excited 80-pound puppy while holding paperwork for an extended period, as they did not leave until 4:00 PM. This review highlights a potential issue with communication regarding pre-appointment instructions and significant wait times beyond the scheduled appointment.
Another customer visited Vetco for a bordetella shot and to extend a Simparica refill prescription tied to an autoship. They were informed that a heartworm test ($53) was required to receive the prescription via email. However, the prescription was not received as promised. Upon contacting customer service, the reviewer was told it was likely a "glitch" and that another appointment would be necessary. This experience raises concerns about the clarity and fulfillment of service requests, as well as the need for additional appointments due to apparent administrative issues.
A third reviewer with a 4:00 PM appointment also experienced a substantial wait, not being seen until an hour later. While they found the vet techs to be "very friendly" and doing their best, their dog growled at the vet during an ear examination, preventing the intended vaccinations. Following this, the reviewer reported receiving a "lecture" about their dog's breed (which they did not choose). Although a previous experience the prior year was described as "a breeze," this recent visit has led the reviewer to decide not to use Vetco again, citing frustration with the overall experience.
Based on these reviews, describing the "environment" of Vetco Vaccination Clinic is challenging. While the vet techs are mentioned as friendly, the overall atmosphere for pet owners seems to be affected by long wait times and potential communication issues. The focus appears to be on efficiency in providing vaccinations, but the customer experience can be negatively impacted by delays and administrative hurdles.
The primary "service" offered by Vetco Vaccination Clinic, as suggested by its name, is "vaccinations." However, based on the reviews, they also provide:
- Administration of vaccines (e.g., bordetella).
- Heartworm testing (required for certain prescription refills).
- Prescription refills (though the process seems to have issues according to one review).
- Basic veterinary examinations (as part of the vaccination process).
It's important to note that as a "vaccination clinic," their range of services may be more limited compared to a full-service animal hospital.
The "features" of Vetco Vaccination Clinic, as perceived through these customer experiences, include:
- Focus on Vaccinations: The primary service offered.
- Potentially Friendly Vet Techs: One reviewer noted their friendliness.
- Requirement for Heartworm Tests for Prescription Refills: This was a specific requirement mentioned in one review.
However, potential drawbacks highlighted by the reviews include:
- Long Wait Times: Multiple reviewers experienced significant delays beyond their appointment times.
- Communication Issues: Misunderstandings regarding required paperwork and prescription fulfillment were reported.
- Inconsistent Service: One reviewer had a positive experience in the past but a negative one recently.
No "promotional information" was included in the provided text. Vaccination clinics sometimes offer package deals on certain vaccines or discounts during specific times. To inquire about any current promotions at Vetco Vaccination Clinic, you would need to contact them directly.
In conclusion, Vetco Vaccination Clinic in Springfield, OR, primarily focuses on providing pet vaccinations. While the vet techs were described as friendly by one reviewer, recent customer experiences indicate potential issues with long wait times, communication regarding requirements and services, and the overall efficiency of the process. Local users considering Vetco for their pet's vaccination needs should be aware of these potential challenges. If you are looking for a straightforward vaccination service and are prepared for potential delays or administrative complexities, Vetco might be an option. However, for those prioritizing punctuality and clear communication, it may be beneficial to inquire further about their current procedures and wait times before booking an appointment. To learn more about their services and any potential promotions, please contact Vetco Vaccination Clinic at (541) 225-6554 or visit their location at 3000 Gateway St STE 220, Springfield, OR 97477.

Mar 14, 2025 · Rebecca LVery frustrated with the Vetco experience. We had an appointment at 4:00pm, arrived 10 mins early as requested, but had to wait an additional hour to be seen. The vet techs were very friendly and were doing their best in the situation. Unfortunately my dog growled at the vet when she was examining his ear and we were unable to get the vaccinations we came for. All I received was a lecture about my dogs breed (for a dog I did not purchase). Last year it was a breeze, but I will not be using Vetco again.
Mar 21, 2025 · Megan WhiteIt was a super positive and super awesome experience really. The staff were quick and efficient, and even when one of my dogs decided to be a pain in the rear vaccines were still accomplished quickly, efficiently and positive overall impact for that dog. Plus, the staff let me reminisce about growing up working as a vet assistant in my grandfather’s practice, which earn some bonus points
Sep 27, 2024 · Meghan KreindelSlightly chaotic with an excitable dog, but worth it (no waiting in the sun in a parking lot, but instead being indoors is very nice) The vet was nice, they got us in quick with our apt we made a day ahead. Pupper loved on the vet, and barely noticed the shot.
