I have been lied to multiple times by the Vetco staff. This time it happened within my pets' 2 appointments ago. The appointment that I took my two dogs to on Sunday November 17th was to get the 2nd shot of the lymes vaccine. At the previous appointment (where my two dogs received numerous other vaccinations) I was told that I will pay my total amount that day and have to return in a month for the second Lymes vaccine but that I would not have to pay at the following appointment because I am paying for it at the first appointment. I even asked the receptionist who was checking me in to clarify to me that I will not have to pay at the appointment that I need to return in a month and she said, "you will not have to pay". At my dogs' returning appointment on Sunday, November 17th, I was told by the receptionist (different receptionist from 1st appointment) that I would have to pay and she wasn't sure why I was ever told that I wouldn't have to. She proceeded to tell me that she had been yelled at by multiple people that weekend over the same issue. Someone that is working for Vetco is giving very deceiving information. I am very upset about this situation and will probably not return to Vetco. I will definitely not recommend Vetco to anyone

Welcome to Vetco Vaccination Clinic
Vetco Vaccination Clinic, situated at 760 Butler Crossing, Butler, PA 16001, USA, operates as a specialized 'Pet Hospital' focused primarily on providing essential, accessible, and affordable preventive veterinary care. Unlike full-service animal hospitals, Vetco clinics are designed to offer a streamlined approach to routine health maintenance for dogs and cats, particularly vaccinations, microchipping, and basic diagnostic tests. This model aims to remove common barriers to pet healthcare, such as high costs and lengthy appointment wait times, making crucial preventive services more readily available to pet owners in the Butler area.
The environment at Vetco Vaccination Clinic, often located within larger retail stores like Petco, is typically characterized by its functional and efficient setup. These clinics are designed for quick visits, focusing specifically on the services they provide. While they may not offer the traditional quiet and private examination rooms of a full-service veterinary hospital, the aim is to create a welcoming and straightforward space for routine procedures. The environment is generally clean and organized, with a focus on expediting the process for pet owners seeking specific preventive care. The staff strives to be friendly and gentle with pets, aiming to minimize stress during the brief visits.
Vetco Vaccination Clinic's services are intentionally concentrated on preventive medicine, a critical aspect of keeping pets healthy and preventing the onset of more serious and costly illnesses. The core services provided at the Butler location include:
- Vaccinations: This is the primary service offered, covering essential vaccines for dogs and cats, such as rabies, distemper (DHPP for dogs, FVRCP for cats), Bordetella, Leptospirosis, and Lyme disease, among others. They offer various vaccine packages to suit different pet lifestyles and needs.
- Microchipping: A vital service for pet identification and recovery, microchipping provides a permanent ID for pets, significantly increasing the chances of reunification if they become lost.
- Flea, Tick, and Heartworm Prevention: Vetco offers preventive medications and solutions for these common and potentially dangerous parasites. They can also perform necessary heartworm tests.
- Deworming: Treatment for common intestinal parasites like roundworms and hookworms is available to maintain gastrointestinal health.
- Basic Diagnostic Tests: This includes tests for heartworm, Lyme disease, and potentially other vector-borne diseases, crucial for early detection and treatment.
It's important for pet owners to understand that Vetco Vaccination Clinic focuses on preventive services and does not provide comprehensive medical care for sick or injured pets, emergency services, complex surgeries, or extensive diagnostic work-ups. For those needs, pets would need to be referred to a full-service veterinary hospital.
A key feature of Vetco Vaccination Clinics is their operational model, which often involves walk-in or scheduled brief appointments. This flexibility is particularly beneficial for busy pet owners who need quick access to routine vaccinations and preventive treatments without the need for a full veterinary examination appointment that a traditional clinic might require. The cost-effective nature of their services is also a significant draw, as their specialized focus allows them to offer these essential treatments at a lower price point compared to full-service hospitals. This affordability is a key component of their mission to make preventive care accessible to a broader pet-owning population.
While the goal is to provide efficient and friendly service, customer experiences can sometimes vary. One review highlights a positive interaction, praising the helpful and friendly staff who answered questions and were gentle with a pup, leading to a "great experience." This indicates that when the clinic operates smoothly, it fulfills its promise of convenient and compassionate care. However, another review details a significant issue regarding inconsistent information about payment for subsequent vaccination appointments, leading to frustration and a sense of being misled. This type of feedback points to potential challenges in communication and operational consistency, which can impact customer satisfaction. Such inconsistencies, while perhaps not representative of every visit, are important for potential clients to consider when choosing their pet's care provider.
Promotional information for Vetco Vaccination Clinics often emphasizes their affordability and convenience. They frequently highlight "no exam fees" for their vaccination services, which can be a significant cost-saving for pet owners. Online platforms and their official website often list their clinic schedules, specific services offered, and transparent pricing for their vaccination packages. They may also run seasonal promotions or offer coupons to further reduce the cost of preventive care. Their widespread presence within Petco stores across the country also serves as a form of promotion, making them a readily identifiable and accessible option for pet parents already visiting these retail locations for pet supplies.
For local users in Butler, PA, Vetco Vaccination Clinic at 760 Butler Crossing presents a viable option for straightforward, routine preventive care. If a pet owner's primary need is vaccinations, microchipping, or basic parasite prevention, and they are seeking a convenient and cost-effective solution, Vetco can be a suitable choice. It serves as a specialized clinic to fulfill these specific needs, complementing rather than replacing the comprehensive care provided by a traditional full-service veterinary hospital. It is advisable for prospective clients to verify specific services and pricing directly with the clinic and to ensure clear communication regarding any multi-appointment payment structures to avoid misunderstandings, as highlighted in some customer feedback.

Nov 19, 2024 · KelseyGreat experience! The staff was very helpful, they answered all of my questions and concerns. The vets and woman checking everyone were friendly and gentle with my pup, who loved all 3 of them! Thank you so much for all your help!
Jul 27, 2024 · Sara JohnsI had my pet to the clinic at the Butler store 2 weeks ago after hearing good reports of the service, my experience has been anything but!!! I had him microchipped and rabies vaccinated. The chip fell out and the assurance that the rabies vaccination was proper is now in doubt also. I accept some responsibility as I never asked if it was a licensed vet or technician, and their credentials however I would NOT recommend service to anyone without properly researching who is performing the duties I entrusted the welfare of my pet to.
Apr 21, 2019 · Georgette FleegerTook our 3 farm cats in for vaccination and everything went well. Not a long wait and the price seems fair. We paid $207 for all three cats boosters. I will go back.
