I got in right on time for my appointment. However I had to wait in line to get seen. Plus while checking in I was told that I was going to have to pay. I argued that. I was told on my initial appointment that I would not need to pay for anything on my return trip for boosters and one of the shots we delayed till the booster appointment. I paid because he told me the initial shots would not be effective without them. I signed the visit consent including statement "under protest". I used you all to save money. I'm on fixed income and $103 unexpected cost is huge. I've never had to return for boosters before that I can recall. I'm very unhappy. I would have gone to my local vet. It in the long run would have been cheaper for me by a large margin.

Located at 5190 Borgen Blvd STE 201, Gig Harbor, WA 98332, USA, Vetco Vaccination Clinic offers a range of veterinary services with a primary focus on preventative care through vaccinations. Understanding the environment and services offered by a pet hospital is crucial for pet owners seeking the best care for their beloved companions. While specific details about the clinic's ambiance, such as the waiting area, examination rooms, and overall facilities, are not explicitly provided in the given information, we can infer that as a vaccination-focused clinic, the environment is likely designed to be efficient and comfortable for quick and routine visits. The emphasis on vaccinations suggests a streamlined process aimed at making preventative care accessible.
The core service offered by Vetco Vaccination Clinic is, as the name suggests, vaccinations. Vaccinations are a cornerstone of preventative veterinary care, protecting pets from a variety of potentially serious and even fatal diseases. These services likely include administering core vaccines recommended for most pets, as well as non-core vaccines that may be necessary based on a pet's lifestyle, breed, and geographic location. The mention of "boosters" in a customer review indicates that Vetco also provides follow-up vaccination shots necessary to maintain immunity over time.
Beyond vaccinations, it is common for such clinics within the Pet Hospital category to offer related services. These might include basic health checks or wellness exams that often accompany vaccination appointments. These brief examinations allow the veterinarian or veterinary technician to assess the pet's overall health and ensure they are fit to receive vaccinations. It is also possible that Vetco offers other preventative treatments such as deworming or flea and tick prevention, although this is not explicitly stated in the provided information.
Features of Vetco Vaccination Clinic, based on the available information, appear to center around accessibility and potentially cost-effectiveness, which is alluded to in one of the customer reviews. The fact that a customer chose Vetco to "save money" suggests that their pricing structure might be competitive compared to full-service veterinary hospitals. The ability to get an appointment "right on time" in one instance points towards an efficient scheduling system. However, another customer's experience of having to wait in line indicates that while appointments may be scheduled, there might still be some wait time involved before being seen.
To provide a balanced perspective, it's important to consider the feedback from actual customers. One customer expressed significant dissatisfaction due to an unexpected cost for booster shots, which they claimed was not communicated during the initial appointment. This highlights the importance of clear communication regarding all potential charges and treatment plans. The customer's statement, "I would have gone to my local vet. It in the long run would have been cheaper for me by a large margin," underscores the need for transparency in pricing and a thorough explanation of the required treatments and their associated costs.
On the other hand, another customer shared a positive experience, stating, "We love petco/Vetco they have been a great experience for our rescue dogs. They are knowledgeable. super calm and all around great w our furry family members! Thank U!" This review praises the staff's knowledge, calm demeanor, and overall positive interaction with the animals, particularly rescue dogs who may be more sensitive or anxious during veterinary visits. This positive feedback suggests that Vetco has staff who are skilled in handling animals and providing a comfortable experience for them.
Considering these contrasting reviews, potential local users should weigh the potential benefits of convenience and possibly lower initial costs against the importance of clear communication regarding treatment plans and associated expenses. It is always advisable for pet owners to inquire about the full scope of services, the necessity and costs of any follow-up treatments like booster shots, and the clinic's policies on payment and consent before proceeding with any veterinary care.
As a Pet Hospital specializing in vaccinations, Vetco Vaccination Clinic in Gig Harbor, WA, aims to provide a focused service that contributes to the overall wellness of pets in the community. While the online information provides a glimpse into their offerings and customer experiences, local users are encouraged to contact the clinic directly to gather more specific details about their current services, pricing, and any promotional offers that might be available. Understanding the clinic's environment, the range of vaccination services they provide, and hearing firsthand about their customer service will help local pet owners make informed decisions about their pet's healthcare needs.
Promotional information is not explicitly available in the provided text. However, it is common for pet hospitals to offer introductory discounts for new clients or package deals for a series of vaccinations. Local users are advised to inquire directly with Vetco Vaccination Clinic about any ongoing promotions or special offers for their services. This direct communication will also help clarify any questions regarding pricing for initial vaccinations and any subsequent booster shots or related services.
In conclusion, Vetco Vaccination Clinic, categorized under Pet Hospital, offers vaccination services in Gig Harbor, Washington. May 02, 2025 · Winnie Wai Yuen LamEfficient operation as always. Very helpful staff person took time to explain all my choices of combo vaccines plus deworming options. Then shopped for goodies as a reward for my dog.Thank you, Petco!
Jul 04, 2022 · Jennifer Silva RedmondFrustrating experience unfortunately- first time taking my own pet to this clinic though I've helped with family bringing their dog in previously and the experience has been positive. I have an almost 5 mo old puppy who needs his rabies vaccine and when I noticed they had a clinic this weekend it was a perfect opportunity to get it done. Did not see anywhere when booking that they will not give rabies vaccine if any other vaccine has been administered in the last 3-4 weeks...which makes getting a puppy vaccinated next to impossible given the standard schedule. I was unable to keep appointment as 5mo pup had gotten a combo vaccine at home within that time. This is unfortunate and a bit frustrating- as a vet office will give a rabies vaccine with other vaccines at the same visit....but I do understand from a liability standpoint. I did not appreciate feeling what I would call a "dismissively pleasant" attitude when I relayed the information that I gave a combo vaccine myself at home. (I am an experienced nurse who has had livestock and pets my entire life- I am fairly qualified to properly vaccinate what I can at home....not that the staff member checking me in was aware.) When I expressed frustration that this 3-4 week poilcy was not anywhere I noted when scheduling, I was told "that is the risk with vaccinating at home- you don't get any medical advice". I told them it is not medical advice I needed, or the home vaccine I was referring to. I would have appreciated not making an extra trip if I had seen a disclosure about THEIR policy. I will definitely not be attempting a return visit and will either use a different mobile service that is less dismissive or just spend the extra cost to get the rabies done at our vet. It is disappointing because this type of interaction could actually discourage a customer/owner from maintaining proper vaccinations. TLDR: Do not schedule if you have had any vaccines for your pet in the last month- they have a policy that is not super apparent at givingg a 3-4 week safety window for reactions. Staff was not inappropriate but did show their ignorance in how they spoke with me. Definitely more frustrating to me given my medical experience both professional and personal.
