I have been bringing my dogs to petco/Vetco for about three years now, and every time it’s time for my dogs updated shots, there’s a new doctor attending us but all have always been pleasant. The female doctor that was there on Sunday Dec 15th was NOT. She was VERY passive aggressive towards me when I declined a shot she “recommended” for my dog. I told her I would research it more and think about it and for some reason this irritated her because her attitude was very dismissive after. She made me feel very uncomfortable and I’m really debating if I’m ever going to go back to this location. To say she is a veterinarian and is suppose to make owners and pets very comfortable, it was very much the opposite. She just looked upset like she was mad to be working on a Sunday. I don’t know but God bless her anyway.

If you go please make sure your dog is treated by the older gentleman. NOT the absolute KAREN that works there. I had a 4:30 appointment and I won’t lie, I was ten minutes late due to traffic. We made it there for our follow up vaccine and before we could even introduce ourselves she said “NO NOPE NO” thankfully the gentleman that was there was kind enough to explain to us kindly that had technically missed the appointment. He asks this Karen what she wants to do regarding our appointment. This whole time this karen keeps saying “NOPE, ABSOLUTELY NOT, YOU MISSED YOUR APPOINTMENT NOPE” while getting visibly red and angrier with each statement. I get that I missed my appointment by ten minutes. However, that does not warrant such rudeness and anger. The rest of the staff there is phenomenal in my opinion and I came here a couple of months ago and the older gentleman was much nicer about the whole process. This lady needs a reality check, and probably a different job. It cost nothing to be nice.

Do not take your dog here! I took my dog for vaccinations and 12 hours later he was completely out of it. He’s a 3 year old labradoodle. The problem with them is, when I called to ask if this is a normal reaction I was told they cannot tell me anything, that I had to take my dog to veterinary. If this is the response I wish I would have just taken to his vet in the first place. How are you administering vaccines that you can’t answer any questions about. You would be better off going to your vet, because they don’t stand behind their vaccines. They should have more info about adverse reactions or side effects. They were supposed to be a more convenient option but I ended up with more vet bills.

This place was ABSOLUTELY the worst experience I have EVER had with my dog. Not only did it feel degrading these individuals do NOT need to be in this field. Today my dog had an appointment at 4:54 PM. I had received automated texts days before the appointment to confirm. In which I did. I work in HEALTHCARE, and even if I didn’t I’m well aware it’s best &(especially if it’s a first time appointment)-to arrive early. At 2:30 PM - I start getting unsolicited texts asking if I was coming to my appointment? I responded “yes”.. I then get asked if I would like to come early, if not to be sure I arrive 10 mins prior to. I responded stating I was unable to come early, as I had prior engagements, but I would arrive between 10-20 mins earlier than the appointment time. I then get a response stating that was fine, but I needed to make sure I was on time or they would not see me. The continuous telling me to be on time after already stating I would, was already the first red flag, and unnecessary. I get there for a WELLNESS EXAM and shots my dog was due for. They check his weight.. that’s it. Just like another review .. NO temperature check. No nothing …They start drawing my dogs blood .. after they give shots he’s due for. They then go into needing to administer items to my dog’s mouth. At times my dog is purely SCARED .. just like a child would be when going to the DOCTOR, because they’re smart and KNOW what it entails! Instead of being understanding to my dog showing SIGNS of being scared, and simply shaking his head not wanting anything in his mouth… KAREN continued to huff and puff COMPLAINING that my dog wouldn’t take the items…. She then asks that I do it… What? I’m not a vet or a vet assistant… but with direction I was kind enough to try. Unfortunately my dog continued to keep his mouth closed and hide his head in between my legs. At this point KAREN is saying things like “what is wrong with him what’s his problem” repeatedly. How dare someone in a medical field respond to an animal or human in that manner! She ends up putting it in a treat where my dog eventually eats the treat. They then give me another item to administer at home because they didn’t care to try any further. Which was fine. With the amount of unprofessionalism that took place within the TEN mins or LESS that I was there was I was ready to go!. Their attitudes and body language showed that they were ready to immediately go home. Which brought me back to the text, asking that I come early prior to the appointment time. This is YOUR JOB. YOU chose this field. IF you are unhappy and don’t care to do the job with compassion … FIND ANOTHER JOB. Whoever the manager is needs to speak specifically with KAREN. Because her care free, annoyed attitude was beyond me. I will NEVER return. I was looking for a NEW vet due to moving but will NEVER be back and I encourage ANYONE LOOKING to go here PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go elsewhere. The VET Also left before my visit was over which I found unprofessional too. But hey maybe this is petcos standards. Smh
