Was able to come in early due to the text option. This is a great way to communicate with customers who don’t answer phone calls immediately. My experience with my dog was amazing and really quick. The vet was nice and handled her gently. I came in with my two small children and was done within ten minutes. Will definitely come back.

Welcome to Vetco Vaccination Clinic

Vetco Vaccination Clinic, situated at 5700 100th St SW, Lakewood, WA 98499, USA, offers a distinct approach to pet healthcare, primarily focusing on accessible and affordable preventative services. Operating within the "Pet Hospital" category, Vetco distinguishes itself by providing essential wellness care, predominantly vaccinations, microchipping, diagnostic testing, and deworming, without the typical general examination fees found at full-service veterinary hospitals. This model is designed for pet owners seeking convenient and cost-effective solutions for their pets' routine health needs, particularly those related to vaccinations and parasite prevention. You can reach the clinic at (253) 984-6903 or +1 253-984-6903 for inquiries.

The clinic's environment is largely defined by its location inside a Petco store. This integration offers a unique convenience, allowing pet owners to combine their pet's health check-up with shopping for pet supplies. While the atmosphere may differ from a traditional standalone veterinary clinic, it typically maintains a clean and functional setup to facilitate quick and efficient services. The primary focus is on streamlined operations, aiming to get pets in and out swiftly while still providing professional care. Given it is situated within a retail environment, it's generally a more bustling setting compared to a quiet veterinary office, which can be an advantage for some pets who are less anxious in varied public spaces, and a potential drawback for others who require a very calm environment.

The core services at Vetco Vaccination Clinic revolve around preventative health. For dogs, they offer a range of vaccinations including Rabies, Distemper & Parvo (DA2PP), Leptospirosis, Bordetella, Lyme, and Canine Influenza. They also provide Heartworm & tick-borne disease tests and various deworming treatments. Puppy vaccination series are available, such as "Pup Start," "Pup Boost," and "Pup Guard," often bundled into "Puppy Bundles" like "Pup Shield Plus" and "Pup Shield Pro" for multiple visits. For cats, services include Rabies, Feline 3-in-1 (FVRCP) which protects against panleukopenia, rhinotracheitis, and calicivirus, and Feline Leukemia (FeLV) vaccine. Kitten series like "Kitten Start" and "Kitten Boost" are also offered, along with "Kitten Shield Pro" bundles. Additionally, Vetco provides microchipping services, a vital step in pet identification and recovery should they ever get lost. They also have a pharmacy offering prescription flea, tick, and heartworm prevention solutions. A key feature is the absence of an exam fee, meaning pet owners only pay for the specific services or vaccinations their pet receives.

A significant feature of Vetco Vaccination Clinic is its emphasis on speed and efficiency. One customer review highlights this, stating they "was able to come in early due to the text option. This is a great way to communicate with customers who don’t answer phone calls immediately. My experience with my dog was amazing and really quick. The vet was nice and handled her gently. I came in with my two small children and was done within ten minutes." This feedback underscores the clinic's success in providing rapid service, which is particularly beneficial for busy individuals or those with pets who may become stressed during prolonged vet visits. The use of modern communication tools, such as text message notifications, further enhances this efficiency, improving the overall customer experience by minimizing wait times.

The convenience of Vetco is also tied to its accessibility. Many Vetco clinics operate on flexible schedules, including weekends and some weeknights, making it easier for pet owners with demanding schedules to get their pets the necessary care. State-licensed veterinarians administer all vaccines and conduct diagnostic tests, ensuring professional and reliable service, even within the streamlined clinic model. This focus on essential, high-volume services allows them to maintain lower costs compared to full-service veterinary practices, a major draw for many pet owners.

However, it is important for potential users to understand the scope of services. As a "Vaccination Clinic," Vetco primarily focuses on preventative care and does not typically handle comprehensive wellness checks that include a full physical examination, diagnosis of illnesses, or treatment for complex medical conditions or injuries. While a licensed veterinarian is present, the primary model is for healthy pets needing routine preventative measures. This distinction is implicitly conveyed by one customer review, which noted being "upset to see prices jump significantly & are not as ideal as taking my baby to her vet & paying an extra $10-20 for a full vet to do a wellness check —not worth the money…" This feedback suggests that while convenient for vaccinations, for a comprehensive wellness check or more in-depth veterinary consultation, a traditional full-service veterinary hospital might be preferred, even if it entails a slightly higher cost. Vetco explicitly states that they "will not vaccinate sick or unhealthy pets at our clinics," emphasizing their focus on preventive care for generally healthy animals.

Promotional information for Vetco Vaccination Clinic often highlights its affordability and convenience. The absence of exam fees is a significant selling point, as it can drastically reduce the cost of routine visits. The ability to "walk in" (though appointments are encouraged and can be managed via text) or get quick service is also heavily promoted. They often offer package deals for puppy and kitten vaccine series, providing a cost-effective way for new pet owners to ensure their young animals are fully protected. While individual prices for à la carte vaccines and services are competitive, the bundled packages are designed to offer further savings. Petco's "Pals Rewards" program can also offer additional benefits for customers utilizing Vetco services. This strategy appeals to a broad demographic of pet owners who prioritize efficient, budget-friendly preventative care for their pets. The clinic's straightforward approach to wellness, focusing on essential preventative measures, makes it a valuable resource for maintaining pet health in the Lakewood community.

Very speedy & nice people. Upset to see prices jump significantly & are not as ideal as taking my baby to her vet & paying an extra $10-20 for a full vet to do a wellness check —not worth the money…

They are fast and through. Only problem I've had was during the pandemic the woman that had the appointments before me decided to bring each of her little dogs in separately which then ran over into my appointment because the customer was slow!
