Took my 2 ⅓ old kitten there for his vaccination, hoping these people would be trained correctly and handle him with care. They grabbed his scruff and forcibly held him down as he SCREAMED his lungs out. I've done research on this and now know this is NOT normal behavior. They man handled my kitten and ever since he's been terrified. After my appointment I cradled my cat as I picked up a treat and toy on the other side of the store to apologize to him and I heard another cat (seemingly a grown cat) also screaming. These people are untrained and will harm your cats. To prove this further they were incredibly unhelpful with questions and didn't give me any instructions, they were rude and constantly giving dirty looks. I will never be returning and am horrified that my poor baby cat had to deal with this horrible people who are supposedly trained. The petco staff themselves were very sweet and chatty but the VETCO staff were the worst untrained people ever and I'd go as far to say this is animal abuse. To the woman and man who did this to my cat and the other ladies cat, I want you to know you should not be handling animals. Our pets shouldn't come home traumatized because you hold them down to a metal table while you grab their scruff / throat. If my cat is forever traumatized at vets it will be because of you. You should be ashamed and disgusted in yourselves. A real vet would never handle a animal like that.

Welcome to Vetco Vaccination Clinic

The **Vetco Vaccination Clinic** in Seekonk, MA, located at 75 Highland Ave #6, within a Petco store, functions primarily as a convenient, low-cost option for routine preventative pet care. These clinics are designed to make essential vaccinations and basic health services more accessible to a wider range of pet owners.

The **environment** of a Vetco Vaccination Clinic, particularly this one in Seekonk, is characterized by its placement within a retail pet store. This means the clinical setting is not a standalone veterinary hospital, but rather a dedicated station or area, often described as "just one table in between some aisles," within the larger Petco store. While this setup aims for convenience and affordability, it also presents unique challenges. The public nature of the location means a potentially busy, noisy, and less private environment compared to a traditional veterinary office. There may be other customers, animals, and general store activity, which can contribute to stress for some pets. Cleanliness, while undoubtedly a priority for any clinic, can also be impacted by the high foot traffic inherent in a retail space, with some anecdotal reports mentioning issues with pet messes in the vicinity.

The primary **services** offered by Vetco Vaccination Clinics focus on preventative health and are typically limited to essential procedures. These generally include **vaccinations for dogs and cats**, covering core vaccines like Rabies, Distemper/Parvovirus (DHPP) for dogs, and FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia) for cats. Additional vaccines, such as Leptospirosis, Lyme, Bordetella, and Feline Leukemia, may also be available based on a pet's lifestyle and risk factors. Beyond vaccinations, Vetco clinics commonly provide **microchipping** services for pet identification, as well as **heartworm, flea, and tick prevention** medications. They also offer **testing** for common conditions such as heartworm and tick-borne diseases, and **fecal testing** for intestinal parasites. It's important to note that these clinics are primarily for preventative care and typically do not offer comprehensive diagnostic services, surgeries, or extensive sick pet care that a full-service animal hospital would provide. For more complex health issues or emergencies, pets would need to be referred to a traditional veterinary hospital.

The **features** of the Vetco Vaccination Clinic model revolve around its emphasis on affordability and accessibility. By operating within a retail environment, they aim to reduce overhead costs, which can translate to lower prices for vaccinations and common preventive medications, potentially saving pet owners money compared to a full-service vet clinic. The "no exam fees" structure for certain services is often promoted as a benefit. Appointments are generally scheduled, though some clients report experiencing delays and disorganization, suggesting that efficiency can vary. The convenience of being located within a Petco store also allows pet owners to combine their vet visit with shopping for pet supplies.

However, client reviews for this specific Vetco Vaccination Clinic location in Seekonk highlight significant concerns regarding pet handling and staff professionalism, which are critical features influencing the overall experience. Multiple reviews describe instances of staff allegedly "manhandling" pets, particularly cats, using methods like scruffing and forcibly restraining them on metal tables, leading to pets screaming and becoming "traumatized." This is a serious concern for pet owners who prioritize their animal's emotional well-being and fear-free handling. Comments suggest that the staff's training in compassionate handling techniques may be inconsistent or inadequate at this particular location, leading to negative and lasting impacts on pets' perception of veterinary visits. Additionally, some clients reported experiences of rudeness, unhelpfulness with questions, a lack of clear instructions post-appointment, and disorganized operations, including long wait times despite having appointments. While some Petco staff (who are separate from Vetco staff) were described as sweet, the Vetco team at this specific location received strong criticism for their approach.

In terms of **promotional information**, Vetco clinics generally promote themselves on the basis of being a "low-cost pet vaccination clinic" that makes "trusted express vet care" accessible. They typically highlight transparent pricing, affordable vaccination packages, and savings on prescription pest solutions. Information about package deals for puppies/dogs and kittens/cats, which bundle several common vaccinations and deworming, is often available. They also offer competitive pricing on specific vaccines and tests, aiming to be a more economical choice for routine care. Vetco also offers an online store for convenient home delivery of prescription medications and diets. While specific promotional offers can change, their core appeal remains centered on providing essential preventive care at a reduced cost. It's advisable for prospective clients to check the official Vetco website or contact the Seekonk location directly at (508) 336-0700 or +1 508-336-0700 for the most current pricing and service schedules, as well as to clarify any concerns about pet handling or visit procedures given the expressed customer experiences.

In summary, Vetco Vaccination Clinic in Seekonk, MA, provides a specialized service focused on affordable and convenient preventative care, primarily vaccinations, microchipping, and parasite prevention, within a retail store setting. While the model aims to increase access to essential health services, the reviews for this specific location suggest significant issues with pet handling techniques and customer service professionalism, leading to reported trauma in pets and dissatisfaction among owners. Pet owners considering this clinic should carefully weigh the potential cost savings against the reported experiences regarding staff conduct and the overall environment, particularly if their pet is prone to anxiety during vet visits.

I’ve been taking my fur babies to vetco total care and vetco clinic at other locations all the time. The experience was all wonderful, except at this place. As said in other comments, disorganized, unprofessional and time-wasting. Waited 30 minutes in line despite of having an appointment. The vaccination station looked like a joke too. It was just one table in between some isles. Some of the employees were nice, but some of them were kind of rude. Won’t come here again.

Don’t waste your time going here, it was a absolute waste of my time spend almost $200 for nothing because they didn’t even give my cat ear mite medicine, they suggested I take him to the vet, well I could have spend $200 there instead of here then & I had my cat in a carrier so my kitten was in my arms so I had to spend $60 for another carrier instead of just putting them together, as there were all dogs fighting, when I was leaving the store. but yes my cats in one carrier was the problem what a joke, no control over the dogs at all, terrible set up also, the vet lady acting like she didn’t understand anything, my cat never had ear mites or anything till I got a kitten with ear mites, so clearly they were ear mite's in my cats ears, she goes how do I know it’s not a infection like what ? Just absolutely ridiculous I will never waste my time again…they definitely need better people who know what they are doing there…so disgusted unless your only getting shots for your animal’s, I wouldn’t bother going there, any real issues they don’t know what they are doing at all. Terrible I work literally 6 days a week what a waste of my time…unbelievable !

Disorganized, cluttered, unprofessional. No sense of how to keep the pets calm when getting checked up/shot. Poked mine multiple times just to draw blood to then be handed my baby back with his blood on the carrier. My baby is calm and sweet and these people restrained him so much he started to freak out.. how do you expect an animal to stay still if you're squishing him in uncomfortable positions with so much force, i thought these people are supposed to get training fir this stuff. My kitties first time at another store was very calm and he was respected and treated like a calm kitten, but at this place they treated him as if he was feral off the bat causing him to have a very unpleasant traumatic experience.. my 4 month kitten went from trusting and being loving by everyone to being scared of even me.. he wont even let me get close to him and its been 2 days. Plus the vet nurses/ workers looked confused on what to do, how to treat animals, (witnessed it with 3 other pets), and showed no importance to work on the line of patients waiting..

First of all my one star doesn’t have anything to do with the employee it’s more of the store and how organize they are . The employees were friendly and helpful but the store and clinic its self is a disaster! Went there for dog appointment which I thought was a full service clinic but that store was only for vaccine. I arrive for my appointment at 11:50 & it was a bit chaotic as I didn’t know where the vet clinic was located in the store. It was actually located in the middle on the aisle of the store on the left side near the dog treats and leash. I found that to be an inconvenience for both pet owners and shoppers. There was people waiting in line for their appointment but there was also people shopping and if 1 dog start to bark then the whole store start to sound like a zoo . While pet parents was shopping we risk running into and dog waiting in line and they both get startled and lord it was horrible . The line took awhile & there was only 2 people for check in but we are standing in the middle of an asile just taking over one spot of the store & pet and owners was uncomfortable . Maybe if the store has a special area for the waiting area it wouldn’t be unorganized but I’m definitely not going back I only came here bc they had an early opening & my dog needed to seen but we was never seen due to it was only a vaccination clinic. I recommend taking the extra drive to the one in Smithfield where you are in a room waiting and away from the store . Good luck to everyone & don’t forget to give your fur babies kisses
