I took my partner's 14 year old cat here about a month ago. The staff was very friendly, especially one of the front desk nurses! He was knowledgeable and patient with any question I had. The veterinarian felt dismissive and very rushed in her examination of our cat. It was a routine visit initially, but I expressed concern for how he had recently started having issues with diarrhea and an irritated butt. She didn't even look at his backside before saying it was fine and didn't check his mouth really at all, even though he had just had a few teeth pulled. She was only a little concerned about him having a lower body temperature than he should. After this, she recommended an anti-diarrhea medicine to treat the symptom and doing a couple of tests. I was okay with them doing blood work, but it felt kind of off that the physical exam was so brief, but the expensive part they were quick to tack on. Everything came back all right. She was still confused about the temperature, but said that the only thing she can think of is that he ingested marijuana (even though there was no way this was possible). Now I'm suspecting there are issues with his mouth again that probably could've been detected a month ago. Reading reviews, it seems like others have had similar or a lot worse experiences with this negligence.

Welcome to Vetco Total Care - Cody Pet Hospital
Welcome to Vetco Total Care - Cody Pet Hospital, located at 5 Sharon Ave, Norfolk, MA 02056, USA. Serving the Norfolk community and surrounding areas in New England, Vetco Total Care - Cody Pet Hospital operates as a Pet Hospital providing veterinary care for companion animals. The available reviews offer a mixed perspective on the services and overall experience at this facility, which potential local users should carefully consider.
Regarding the environment of Vetco Total Care - Cody Pet Hospital, one positive review explicitly mentions that the facility is "clean." This is an important aspect for any veterinary hospital, as a clean environment contributes to the health and safety of the animals and can reflect the overall standards of the practice. However, the reviews do not provide extensive details about the overall ambiance or the comfort of the waiting areas or examination rooms. Potential clients may want to inquire directly about the hospital's facilities to form a complete picture of the environment.
The services offered at Vetco Total Care - Cody Pet Hospital appear to cover general veterinary care for pets, primarily cats and dogs based on the reviews. One positive experience involved a cat's routine visit, where the owner found the front desk staff to be "very friendly" and "knowledgeable." Another visit for a dog with a rash resulted in a positive experience, with the reviewer noting that the staff was "friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful." These instances suggest that the hospital provides consultations, examinations, and treatments for various pet health issues. However, a more critical review details concerns about a rushed physical examination of a cat with specific symptoms, including diarrhea and potential dental issues following recent extractions. This suggests that while routine care might be offered, the thoroughness of examinations may vary.
A significant feature highlighted in one positive review is the friendliness and knowledge of the staff. The front desk nurse is specifically mentioned for being "knowledgeable and patient," which can greatly enhance a pet owner's experience, especially when they have questions or concerns. The overall impression from this review is that the staff is approachable and helpful. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the facility, as noted by another reviewer, is a positive attribute that can instill confidence in the hygiene practices of the hospital.
However, a concerning feature that emerges from one detailed negative review is the perception of a rushed and dismissive veterinarian. The reviewer expressed concerns about their cat's diarrhea and irritated backside, as well as potential mouth issues post-dental surgery, but felt these were not adequately addressed during the physical examination. The veterinarian's focus seemed to quickly shift towards recommending tests and medication for the diarrhea without thoroughly investigating the other concerns. This raises questions about the thoroughness of examinations in all cases. The subsequent suggestion of marijuana ingestion as a possible cause for a low temperature, despite the owner's assertion that it was impossible, further contributed to the reviewer's lack of confidence in the diagnosis.
The negative review also points out a potential issue with prioritizing expensive tests over a comprehensive physical examination, stating, "...it felt kind of off that the physical exam was so brief, but the expensive part they were quick to tack on." This perception can erode trust between the pet owner and the veterinary practice. Additionally, the reviewer's suspicion of recurring mouth issues, which they believe could have been detected earlier with a more thorough examination, suggests a potential oversight in the initial assessment.
The mention of other similar or worse experiences in other reviews, as noted by the dissatisfied customer, is a serious concern for potential new clients. While individual experiences can vary, a pattern of negative feedback regarding thoroughness and attentiveness should be carefully considered.
Information regarding specific pet-related goods sold at Vetco Total Care - Cody Pet Hospital is not available in the provided reviews. It is common for veterinary hospitals to offer prescription medications, specialized diets, and other health-related products for pets. Potential local users interested in any special offers, new client discounts, or other promotions should contact the hospital directly at (508) 384-5904 or +1 508-384-5904 to inquire.
In conclusion, Vetco Total Care - Cody Pet Hospital in Norfolk, MA, presents a complex picture based on the limited reviews. While some clients have experienced friendly and knowledgeable staff and appreciate the cleanliness of the facility, others have raised significant concerns about rushed and potentially negligent examinations, as well as a perceived prioritization of tests over thorough physical assessments. Local users should carefully weigh these contrasting experiences when considering this Pet Hospital for their animal care needs. It may be prudent to ask detailed questions about examination procedures and the veterinarian's approach during an initial consultation to ensure it aligns with their expectations for thorough and attentive care.
