I have been a frequent client of this location for a few years now and the newly appointed Dr. Weber is absolutely wonderful! My sweet girl Raven (pictured here) has had the best care for a few different issues. Most recently Dr. Weber did a dental cleaning and extraction on my girl and did a flawless job. Pricing was very fair as well! If I had a preference it would be to only see Dr. Weber from now on — I never feel rushed and she is a great listener. You can tell she is really passionate about her work! Highly recommend this location and seeing Dr. Weber. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff as well. Raven sends her thanks as well!

Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital Introduce
Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital, located at 20980 Westgate Mall Dr, Fairview Park, OH 44126, USA, operates within the "Pet Hospital" category. This facility is notably situated inside a Petco store, a common model for Vetco clinics, which aims to provide accessible and convenient veterinary services to pet owners. Unlike a full-service, standalone veterinary hospital that might offer extensive 24/7 emergency care or highly specialized procedures, Vetco Total Care typically focuses on providing a comprehensive range of general veterinary services, emphasizing routine care, wellness, and common medical issues for dogs and cats.
The environment of Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital, being located within a Petco store, offers a unique set of characteristics. This integration provides a high level of convenience for pet owners, allowing them to combine veterinary visits with their pet supply shopping. The hospital itself would be a dedicated, often self-contained clinical space within the larger retail environment. While it benefits from the foot traffic and visibility of a retail setting, the clinical area is designed to maintain professional standards of cleanliness, organization, and pet-friendly ambiance. Expect a waiting area, examination rooms, and potentially a treatment area or small lab space. The layout prioritizes efficiency for routine appointments and comfortable, controlled spaces for examinations. The proximity to pet food and supplies can also be seen as an environmental advantage, offering a holistic pet care experience under one roof. However, clients should anticipate a slightly different atmosphere than a traditional, quiet standalone clinic, given its retail context. The address at Westgate Mall Dr suggests easy accessibility and ample parking, which is a significant environmental factor contributing to client convenience.
The services offered by Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital typically cover the essential needs of general veterinary practice. While the exact scope can vary by location, a "Total Care" designation suggests a more comprehensive offering than just vaccinations. Common services would include:
- Routine Wellness Exams: Fundamental for preventive care, involving physical check-ups, discussions about diet, exercise, and behavior, and health assessments.
- Vaccinations: Providing core and lifestyle-dependent vaccinations for both dogs and cats to protect against common diseases.
- Preventative Care: This includes parasite prevention and control, such as heartworm testing and preventative medications, and recommendations for flea and tick control.
- Dental Care: Routine dental cleanings (scaling and polishing), often under anesthesia, to maintain oral hygiene and prevent dental disease. Extractions of diseased teeth may also be performed, as highlighted in a customer review.
- Spay/Neuter Services: Common surgical procedures offered for population control and pet health benefits.
- Microchipping: A vital service for permanent pet identification and reunification in case of loss.
- Basic Diagnostics: In-house laboratory testing for common conditions, such as blood work (CBC, chemistry panels), urinalysis, and fecal exams. Some locations may offer digital X-rays for basic imaging needs.
- Minor Surgical Procedures: Beyond spay/neuter and dental extractions, they may perform other common soft tissue surgeries, depending on the clinic's capabilities.
- Puppy & Kitten Packages: Comprehensive wellness plans tailored for young animals, covering initial vaccinations, deworming, and health checks.
- Senior Pet Care: Tailored wellness programs and diagnostics for older pets, addressing age-related health concerns.
- Nutritional Counseling: Guidance on appropriate diets for pets of all ages and health conditions.
It is important for pet owners to understand that while Vetco Total Care offers a broad range of general services, complex emergency care or highly specialized surgeries might be referred to larger veterinary hospitals or specialty centers.
The features that distinguish Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital primarily revolve around its **convenience and accessibility**. Its location within a Petco store makes it a practical choice for pet owners seeking to streamline their errands. The concept of "Total Care" implies a more holistic approach to routine and preventive veterinary medicine, aiming to be a one-stop shop for basic pet health needs. The reviews highlight the importance of the staff, particularly the veterinarians, in shaping the client experience. The positive review praises Dr. Weber for being "absolutely wonderful," "flawless" in a dental procedure, and a "great listener" who is "passionate about her work." This suggests that the quality of individual veterinary professionals is a significant feature, contributing to trust and client satisfaction. The mention of "very fair pricing" also points to affordability as a key attractive feature. However, it's also important to acknowledge the negative review, which highlights potential inconsistencies in staff attitude and approachability towards animals, which can significantly impact the overall experience. This indicates that while the model offers convenience, the human element of compassionate pet handling remains critical. The focus on establishing a personal connection with clients and their pets, as exemplified by Dr. Weber's positive feedback, is a strong feature when consistently delivered.
Promotional information for Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital would typically emphasize its unique positioning within the Petco retail environment, highlighting the ease and convenience of combining veterinary visits with pet supply purchases. They often promote competitive pricing for common services, such as dental cleanings or vaccination packages, to attract budget-conscious pet owners. Online presence, including their website and social media, would likely showcase their range of services, introduce their veterinary team, and provide online scheduling options, enhancing the convenience factor. They might offer new client specials or discounts on specific services to encourage first visits. Partnerships with Petco's loyalty programs could also be a promotional avenue. Advertising often focuses on the benefits of proactive and preventive care, aligning with their "Total Care" philosophy. Testimonials, particularly those praising specific veterinarians or the overall efficiency and affordability, would be used to build trust and attract new clients. The dual nature of reviews (highly positive for specific vets, negative for perceived staff attitudes) suggests that while the business model is appealing, consistency in compassionate animal handling across all staff members is a critical area for promotional focus and client satisfaction. Therefore, any promotional efforts would likely aim to underscore their commitment to quality care and a positive experience for both pets and their owners.

Jan 11, 2025 · Stephanie ChrinMay 8, 2025 Oh my goodness if I could give the vetco inside the petco at Westgate a ZERO I would! The tech entered the room and completely ignored my dog and began asking questions. My dog WALKED over to her and she yelled "Hold your dog back get him back" I was completely shocked that she wouldnt even acknowledge him and said he was just coming to greet you and she said "I dont want him to jump on me" I asked her how she could work with animals with an attitude like that. Not only that but the Vet that looked at him recoiled when my dog went to sniff his pantleg and he moved away from him. WHAT? I cannot fathom how the staff there can be so cold to pets that are brought to them for care. Not even a hi and a pat on the head to my dog. I will never go there again. I will go to a vet clinic that actually likes to be around dogs.
May 08, 2025 · OhSandyI took my dog to VetCo total care 8/14/2024 and had an exceptional experience. Dr. Winson and vet tech Julia, took time and were gentle but firm with my senior dog while getting his shots and blood tests. He is normally very upset at the vet, and they were able to take good care of him in the room and gave him love and treats. All my questions were answered and they called his prescriptions in to another pharmacy which is less expensive for me as I am on a set income. Thank you Dr. Winson and Julia!!! I’m so happy to be back at Vetco for Frank’s vet care!!!
Aug 15, 2024 · Janis KWe will not be going back. Took time off of work for my pet's wellness visit which was confirmed 3 days prior, just to arrive and no one there. Asked a PetCo employee who said she believed the vet couldn't make it in. But they tried reaching out to everyone. WRONG! We recd no phone call, text or email. Very inconsiderate. Another visit we weren't able to get our monthly pill as the vet who rx it wasn't in. I would have to go to another VetCo the next day as the vet would be there. We went. I was handed the pill by the person at the desk. We never even saw the vet. Not a happy client.
Mar 14, 2025 · Therese HordDue to the holidays, I had a hard time finding a vet who would see my cat as a new client so I made an appointment with Vetco for 1/15/25 at 8 am on the phone Once I arrived the lady at the front desk stated that she "tried" to contact everyone because the veterinarian had an emergency and would arrive at 1 pm. ( I received no email, text, or call) I asked if she could reschedule for me at 1 or after. She said no, they must help the rest of the clients that made their appointments after 1. ( Lack of empathy. ) So now my pet has to wait another two weeks with a legit vet, which I wish I had done instead. I traumatized my cat for no reason this morning with the 15-minute ride there. I called to make a formal complaint. I will say that there's a chance you may or may not see a vet for your furball when making an appointment, there are no guarantees so you're better off just making an appointment with a legit veterinary clinic. I found out, that Vetco deletes your appointment information and any information about your pet when this happens. They also need training for their Customer Service to ensure the appointment set is being processed and completed so that the right information is being shared with the customer. Please LOVE your pet enough to not take them to Vetco because it is a waste of time and denies your pet proper care when they need it the most. ** Lakeview Park Vetco**
